The Navigator: A Mountains Trilogy Novel

I was not sure what to expect when I started this book and I didnt really care because hey, its Phoebe Alexander so if her name is on it..I read it 🙂
I will say that I was blown away..a storyline like I’ve never read, it wasn’t all wine roses and cupcakes and the characters weren’t rich and perfect. I fell in right at the beginning and was hooked, so much so that real life and adulting didn’t enter my mind while reading. I’ll be honest I don’t normally read anything m/m, f/f, or much m/m/f but the way this author handled it all in this story just felt natural, like nothing was at all different, feelings are feelings and I walked away from this book in awe!
There was a lot going on, and my feelings towards Nav completely confused me at first…I kept asking myself, Is this a good guy or am I going to totally hate the main character of this book…Well as it turned out I absolutely loved him, he is probably the most broken main character I’ve ever read about and my heart hurt for him, and some of the decisions he made were not the best and I had a few SMH moments with him. Then there was Anjuli, again when I first met her I was thinking hmmm..am I going to like her, well yes I also fell in love with her and although not quite as broken as Nav she still had issues she dealt with as well.
As I said, there is alot going on in this story, but I got so invested in it so early on that I never lost track, I couldn’t put it down and the addition of some of the players that came into the story just added that much more for me. I’m not going to go into anything about this storyline..it needs to be gone into blindly like I did it…
This author is an auto one click for me, she is beyond amazing and this might just be my favorite by her so far, I highly recommend for anyone over 18 and also highly recommend you have a fan blowing on you at all times because there are some scenes where you will need that blowing on extra high!! 🙂
LOVED IT!! This author is brilliant!!
The Navigator is part of the Mountains trilogy by Phoebe Alexander. This is not my first read by this author, but this story is the first one that had me astounded. Let me just say that this story had a serious amount going on all at once. It started intensely and just evolved so quickly and eventfully, it left my head spinning. Dramatic does not even scratch the surface of explanation. Incredibly riveting and stimulating.
Garrett, Anjuli and crew were an eclectic group who came from very different walks of life but somehow came together powerfully. The just seemed to fit so well together, which was surprising, as they were so diverse. I reread a few chapters as reading the first time I could not quite grasp the all that the author was exhibiting. Ay times frustrating but enigmatic, The Navigator was a crafty entertainer. 4 stars.
a great read about different paths. Garrett Stone has always wanted to be a professor at a university. but when unexpected circumstances throw him off course, he finds new friends and new jobs and soon discovers that life can be unexpected. wiill Garrett run in fear of change or try a new way of life?
a great read. well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. well developed characters like Aujuli as a caring mother but also standing up for herself or Garrett trying to cope in new situations. a great cast of friends like Chase adding light and humour the book needed..
i loved the visual detail throughout the novel
like the busy nature of the stage or in tiny things like bookcases or the necklace. or the pictures on Aujulis wall which were beautiful and full of emotion.
i loved the use of simple settings which added to the every day feel of the novel and all its struggles. I also adored the respect towards culture and sexuality throughout the novel which was beautifully written.
the use of different perspectives worked well to portray both sides of it all and were easy to follow. the only issue I would raise is sometimes it was hard to follow the time frame of the narrative. Overall a great read and I would give it four stars
The Navigator by Phoebe Alexander is A Mountains Trilogy Novel.
This book had a lot going on. There was Garrett who has been through so much in his 32 years of life. I honestly don’t know how he wakes up every morning and lives his life. He has a lot of issues. I believe Chase and Anjuli played a very important part in this book. Garrett is been running from his demons for the past 16 years or so. Unfortunately, you can’t run forever. When his secret is finally revealed, will he lose everything he never really knew he had or will it help him overcome his past? The book had great characters that I’m sure will end up having their own books one day. I just want to say, I absolutely love how Garrett got his nickname “Nav” haha.

“He’d been let go, passed over, and abandoned his whole life. Why should now be any different?”
As always when I read Phoebe’s books I get pulled into the characters world. I feel like I am a part of the story not just reading it.
“If anyone he knew had seen where he came from—what he had been through—they would never look at him the same way again.”
This book takes you through self discovery, rising about your circumstances, facing new beginnings, struggles, forgiveness, survival, forgiveness, friendship and experimenting.
“How could he find The One when he couldn’t even find himself?”
Sometimes when you aren’t looking for that missing piece it actually sneaks up and finds you. People come in and out of your life to teach you different lessons. Some stay physically and some stay in your memory or soul. They all play a role that has you evaluate new people and decisions you will be faced with. This book had me wondering if I would have the strength and courage to move forward or would I let my circumstances win.

The story The Navigator: A Mountains Trilogy Novel by Phoebe Alexander is a wonderful romance book. It quickly drew me in and I found myself lost in the story and not wanting to put it down until I had finished. The characters of Garrett Stone and Dr. Anjuli Raina is one of the reasons that I enjoyed the book so much. Garrett is a man that had his life torn apart just when he was so close to realizing his goals. He is now a man that is trying to pick up the pieces. It is then when he meets Anjuli. Anjuli is a woman that like to help others and has a job where she can be compassionate and help guide others. She was not looking for a relationship, just a way to have fun and release tension. When she meets Garrett she believes that is what she has found. No strings work for them. I liked Anjuli because she has an open mind and curious about situations that sometimes others have a hard time dealing with or accepting. As these two start to spend more time together Anjuli begins to suspect that there is more going on with Garrett than he is saying. Garrett may be confident in the bedroom, however, there are also times when he has self-doubts. These two may have started out casual however what will happen when they start to have feelings for each other and those feelings only grow stronger. Will they take a chance and move forward into a relationship or will they pull away from each other? Read this book to find out if Garrett and Anjuli find happiness together. I found this to be a well-written story that has amazing characters. It can be read as part of a series or as a standalone. Either way, it is a story that you don’t want to miss out on.
Book Review: The Navigator
Author: Phoebe Alexander
FIVE STARS
This book is a Mountains Trilogy Novel. Garret is a spin-off character from the Mountains Wanted Trilogy and he now has his own story. The Navigator can be read as a stand alone as there are really no ties to any of the Mountains Wanted books mentioned except for a few flash backs with Sarah.
We get to know Garrett and what he has gone through in his life that has caused him to feel the way he does about himself and about his life. There are some very deep aspects to Garrett that we never saw in the Mountains Wanted series. This is very important to know to get to know the true Garrett.
Anjuli is a psychologist and a single mom who has sent her daughter off to college and now doesnt know what to do with her free time. She has recently been cast as a lead in the production Chicago in the towns community theatre.
After a run in at the liquor store, Anjuli invites Garrett to a get-together at her home, this is just the beginning folks.
Hold on for an up and down roller coaster ride of emotions. Ms. Alexander writes sensual and sexy erotic novels and this one is no different. You have your M/M your M/F and even a very steamy and well written M/M/F scene.
There are so many aspects to a Phoebe Alexander book that you want to read and read and read until you run out of words on the pages, and then you still want more.
FIVE amazing stars for this book. Thank you Ms. Alexander for giving us Garrett’s story.

I give 5 stars to The Navigator: A Mountains Trilogy Novel written by Phoebe Alexander.
What do you do, when you have hit rock-bottom and can’t see the light through the darkness, this a brilliantly written story of betrayal and struggles with some streaming scenes, uno just for good measure. Phoebe has become one of my favourite go to autours for a good read.
Garrett Stone’s life has taken a massive turn, but not in the way that he had hoped or worked for. With all his dreams in pieces scattered are him, he needs to pull himself together or succumb to the darkness.
On a walk to the shop he becomes intrigued by a olive beauty with the most gorgeous brown eyes, Anjuli walks head on in to Garrett at the store. The emotions are strong from the get go but can they both trust their hearts again or will they both end up in a bigger mess this time.
THE NAVIGATOR can be read as a stand-alone, yet It is part of The Mountain Trilogy.
There is a lot going on in this story. For much of the book, I just could not connect the dots on where it was all going.
Here is what I appreciated about the story:
1. No judgement about sexual orientation or “unconventional” relationships
2. The characters are not in their 20s
3. Multi-cultural
4. The epilogue
Things I did not like:
1. This felt like a couple of different characters stories were having their stories told and they didn’t feel connected.
2. The secondary, family characters are downright confusing.
3. There are plot points that feel unfinished and just don’t make sense.
I am going to go back and read the trilogy and if I feel differently after, I will update this review.
The Navigator by Phoebe Alexander is part of her The Mountains Trilogy series. This is a tale about finding your way back from the very bottom.
Garrett and Anjuli are two people who shouldn’t be dating. He thinks of himself as too damaged to love, and too damaged to love someone else. She shouldn’t be dating her client. Period.
But what they are doing can’t be classified as dating, surely? Except feelings are definitely involved, even if they both wish otherwise.
I found this to be a really emotional story. Finding it about Garrett and his story. The interaction between him and Anjuli is exactly what was needed. The writing sucked me in really help to add depth to the story. This isn’t the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be the last either.

Five Stars
The Navigator:A Mountains Trilogy Novel by Phoebe Alexander is Garrett Stone’s story. This is the first book I have read in this series, but I have read quite a few of Ms. Alexander’s other books which I truly enjoyed. That being said, this book can be read as a stand alone, but I plan on going back to read the rest of the books in this series. Garrett is such a strong character, every time he thinks he is at rock bottom, something else happens, but he never gives up. This book is full of twists and turns, I just couldn’t put it down. My emotions were all over the place with this book. I just kept trusting that things would eventually work out like they were supposed to. This book will definitely not disappoint. I highly recommend this book and this author.
This is the first book I have read by this author and if this is what I can expect from her work I am hooked! Garrett struggles throughout this book but I love how with some help he perseveres. He sleeps with a student and is dismissed from his position at the university. He then turns to drinking to forget what a disaster his life has become. Just when you think all hope is lost then comes in Anjuli. And then through Chase, Garrett’s new roommate, into the mix and they both save him.
This is really an emotional story about a man that just can’t catch a break. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts. I can’t wait for more from this author!!
Hands down, an amazing book. Phoebe Alexander hits this one out of the ballpark with Garrett and his story. The characters and plot development were incredibly detailed and well thought out. A fantastic book and one I would highly recommend.
The Navigator, a mountains trilogy novel written by Phoebe Alexander was an amazing read. I wasn’t sure what to expect honestly, I read it based off of the assumption that the book would be amazing like others written by Phoebe Alexander. The Navigator did not disappoint. Garrett also know as nav (navigator) has had a rough past but the more you get into the story you realize how messed up everything is. This story is full of such erotic moments including m/f, m/m and m/m/f. Nav is a great character even though he has his issues eventually he asks for help and learns to trust people again. Anjuli was an interesting character with the way she process and adapts to the situation. I was pretty shocked by a few spots in the story and I don’t know how Garrett holds it together in a few spots with all the things going on in his life. Theirs is the mention of PTSD a lot in the story and how it applies to certain situations. Overall I loved the story and it’s uniqueness.
This is one of my favorite authors and I loved this book. I love how I am able to be pulled in right from the beginning. Garret’s story will show you that sometimes bad things happen to open up a door for something awesome. I loved his character. I had so much compassion for him, just when good happens for him, life happens. His chemistry with Juli is off the charts and I really wanted to see them have a HEA but you will have to read this book to find out. I highly recommend this book!
The Navigator: A Mountains Trilogy Novel By Phoebe Alexander is an incredible story about a man you can’t help but fall for a little. Garrett has has more than his fair share of life throwing him curveballs, and he’s just wondering if he’ll ever catch a break. The author is so good at writing in such details that it all plays out in your mind and you forget your actually reading. The characters are complex and believable and they have a chemistry that just jumps off the pages. While I did read this as a complete standalone with no problem or confusion I’m excited to read more of these books because the author just had me hooked. This book definitely has some very steamy parts so definitely recommended for the adult crowd. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it.
WOW. We met Garrett in the mountain trio books and I’m so flipping excited this is his book and I mean when I say yum and wow this book I mean it! We meet new characters and even get some old characters reprised. And we finally see Garrett’s past and see why he’s the way he is. So much love for this book, Garrett and Anjuli have major chemistry can’t wait to see what more mischief this author comes up with next.
They say when one door closes another one opens. That is the case with Garrett. Studying for his PhD he makes the mistake with a one night fling with one of his students. Even though it was consensual she brings him up on charges and he loses his position at the university as well as his chance to finish his degree. But if it wasn’t for that he never would have met Juli. Their chemistry was off the charts. She was 10 years older than him but it never was an issue. Garrett’s upbringing wasn’t the greatest and he never felt loved or cared for. His step father was always putting him down and mentally and emotionally abused him. His own biological father left him and his mother when Garrett was 3 years old. So to say he has some issues would be putting it mildly. Plus the nightmares he continues to have. When he meets Juli she shows him what it is to love. Together they find in each other what they never found in anyone else. Going from an open relationship to realizing you only want to be with each other.
This was the first book I have ever read by Phoebe Alexander. I like how she builds her characters and writes entertaining stories. I love how she wrote the struggles that Garrett went through and how he persevered and never gave up. He had many obstacles to overcome but with the help of Juli and Chase he was able to find his lot in life. He was able to face his demons and make a new life for himself.
