**Now a USA Today Bestseller!** Lisa Hodges needs to make a decision fast. Thanks to her dead husband’s gambling addiction, their savings is almost gone. In her early fifties with a large, waterfront home on Nantucket to support, Lisa hasn’t worked in over thirty years, has no in-demand skills and is virtually unemployable. Her only options are to sell the house and move off-island, or, she could … and move off-island, or, she could use her cooking and entertaining skills and turn her home into a bed and breakfast. She desperately needs it to succeed because she has four grown children with problems of their own and wants to stay close to them.
Her oldest daughter, Kate, has a fabulous career in Boston–working as a writer for a popular fashion magazine and engaged to a dangerously handsome, photographer, who none of them have met.
Kate’s twin, local artist, Kristen, has been reasonably content with her on-again off-again relationship with an older, separated businessman.
Her son, Chase, runs his own construction business and is carefree, happily dating here and there but nothing serious.
Youngest daughter, Abby, is happily married to her high school sweetheart, and they’ve been trying to have a baby. But it hasn’t happened yet, and Abby wonders if it’s a sign that maybe their marriage isn’t as perfect as everyone thinks.
Come visit Nantucket and see how Lisa’s new bed and breakfast has an impact on almost everyone in her family. It’s the first book in a new series that will follow the Hodges family, friends, and visitors to Nantucket’s Beach Plum Cove Inn.

This book was just what I needed to escape the harsh realities we are living through right now. Easy to read. Likable characters. Wonderful setting.
Now I see why everyone is reading Pamela Kelley’s books. Reading The Nantucket Inn was such a nice way to spend an afternoon.
I can’t get enough of the Hodges! I absolutely love this series so much. There is nothing better than a family drama/saga and Pamela Kelley cannot publish these fast enough as far as I’m concerned! Love love love!
I just loved this story of Lisa Hodges and her family. Lisa discovers she needs money or she will have to move, her late husband’s gambling debts come to light and she is at a loss of what to do. Her three daughters and son become her biggest supporters and she opens her house as a B&B. The struggles of her kids and their lives make for great reading, a promise of a sequel(s) will keep me reading for sure. The descriptions in this book make you feel like you are right there and when things go right and wrong you are right there with this wonderful family. More then a beach read, I am now a big fan of Pamela M. Kelley!
Lots of plots for different people.
A warm and engaging family saga, and an excellent summer beach read. Really brought Nantucket to life and made me long to visit. Love Pamela Kelley’s writing style—very entertaining!

read story!!!
Loved this work by Pamela Kelley my first read from her and it won’t be my last.
I especially enjoyed her descriptions of areas of New England which I am most familiar with. She is spot on with her narration and brings scenes to life.
This book takes place on Nantucket Island, and the story is about Lisa who recently lossed her husband. She decides to start a Bed and Breakfast. Her four grown children help and support her is this endeavor. It has interesting characters and is an easy enjoyable read.
Ava, at 54, loses her job shortly after she lost her husband to a younger woman, and realising that she had enough of that kind of life. Luckily for her, one of her former clients had bequeathed on her a fairly large mansion, that was supposed to become a B&B, but the grand-daughter, who was tasked with it, never did anything in that way. As the licence is already there, Ava picks up the idea and moves to Nantucket to start her new endeavor. With her come her two best friends. – one permanently, the other on a trial basis. They, together with her two daughters and her son, start to convert the house into a destination luxury B& B.
The story is engaging, changing perspective from time to time, so one can see the different views on the same situation. The bebinning of a lovely family saga. I am looing forward to the second book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this book as well as all the books in this series. Pamela Kelley is an exceptional author!
Sweet and enjoyable to read.
A great book. I recommend it to anyone
Awesome book
Loved this book, the characters were so real with real life issues, I would highly recommend for a great read
A realistic view of the ups and downs of the relationships of one family. Love lost and found. A widowed matriarch left penniless by the gambling debts of her deceased husband turns her home into a bed and breakfast. Her 4 children come home to Nantucket to heal their own lives as well. Entertaining.
I enjoyed this book. Great to see a strong woman succeeding after the wretched husband left her practically destitute. Inspiring.
It doesn’t fit the clean reading list
The Nantucket Inn seems to be a wonderful place to escape to, just like this book! This story is easy to read, or listen to as I did, fast paced and has interesting characters. If I had any complaints it would be that I wish things would fall in place in real life as it seems to in the book. Not that everything is hunky-dory for all the characters, but so far in the end things seem to work out. I’ll be anxious to see how things go in the next book in the series!
