Don’t touch the nanny. It’s one rule I’m most certainly going to break. Since becoming a single father, I have two things that keep me sane–my daughter Lily and playing football for the NFL. But when my meddling sister hires a nanny without my knowledge, I’m not thrilled to come home and find the woman has taken over my house. Our instant attraction is one more complication I don’t need in my … don’t need in my life.
But my daughter loves Amelia, and I will do anything for that tiny munchkin. Even if it means walking around with blue balls most of the time. Why does the nanny have to be so sweet–and drop dead gorgeous? She’s driving me crazy. Never in my life have I wanted a woman more.
I just need to make it through this season. I can do that. Hands free, of course. But then there’s that moment, and I know she’s thinking what I’m thinking and, well, yeah. Screw the rules…

I loved this story! There was so much sweetness and love throughout, along with great sexual tension and then sexy times. Brody is a quarterback. He and his daughter have been through a loss of a wife and mother, but Brody is suffering from more than the loss but also betrayal. He has a hard time accepting and trusting people into his life. Amelia is his daughter’s new nanny and is an educated women who has had her share of family problems and is trying to make a difference in others lives with her career choice. And then you have Lily, the little girl who is the bright spot in both their lives. This is a quick read that gave me lots of feels. The characters are well developed and my heart ached at times for each one of them. I couldn’t get enough of this quarterback, his Lily pad, and his new love of turtle shorts. This was my first time reading a book by Melynda Price and I know I’ll be looking forward to more.
The Nanny Rules by Melynda Price was a quick read with a bit of a forbidden romance. Brody is a widower who loves his daughter above all else. With a broken heart and no faith in love, he is determined to never love again. Enter Amelia. The nanny hired by his sister to help him during the season, as a top NFL player, he has a very demanding career. But Amelia stirs something in him and no matter how much he wants to deny it, he is falling for her.
Amelia loves working for Brody and his daughter. But what she never expected was to fall for her boss. Can they enjoy each other without getting feelings involved? With his heartbreak and her past, do they even have a chance? Do they follow the rules or risk it all? A quick and steamy read!
3.5-stars. Happy reading!
Melynda Price was a new to me author and the blurb caught my eye. The Nanny Rules is a steamy fast paced romance.
While, the plot was a little on the predictable side I still enjoyed reading this story. Brody is a single father and also an NFL quarterback who happens to fall for his daughters Nanny, Amelia. Now, his daughter, Lily, completely stole my heart. She is who I loved most in this story. The little girl lost her mother and her father stepped up and made sure he was there as much as possible for his sweet baby girl. Amelia also helped Lily and I LOVED their relationship and their bond with each other.
The chemistry between Brody and Amelia is there and lead to some few steamy scenes. Of course, they both tried to fight the attraction throughout the first half of the story but eventually something had to give.
Overall, this was an enjoyable story and for anyone who loves the single father/nanny romance trope with a little bit of sports mixed in this is one to check out.
This book was mixed for me. The start was ok, the middle was really good, the beginning of the end was really bad and the HEA was really sweet.
The only sensible people was Brody’s sister Julia, Amelia’s brother Mason and Brody’s daughter Lily.
Amelia is studying psychology at university and she knows a lot about PTSD and she lets you know. She becomes Lily’s nanny so she can take care of her during football season while Brody works for his team. Lily suffers from PTSD and you figure out that so does Brody. Amelia and Brody grows close and they both want more but there are a lot of obstacles to get through if they want to make it work! They both become so frustrating at the beginning of the end and I just kept rolling my eyes and thought open your eyes and your mouths and COMMUNICATE.
But the ending was finally really cute and sweet when Julia opened up both their eyes and helped them figure out that they belonged together
So really mixed opinion from me but if you can look past their stupidity and the frustrations of the story then it is sweet, steamy and has a good HEA.
I received this arc from Netgalley and Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
A hot and steamy read. Mia is doing what she loves while trying to heal her soul. Brody is recovering from a nerve wracking year. Lily is their common ground. Brody does not want to fall in love with anyone, especially his daughter’s hot nanny. Mia knows loving Brody is a huge risk. Separately and together they have to figure out if love is worth the risk. These two blaze a heated path across the pages as they reach for their fairytale ending.
My name is Brody and I’m a quarterback for the NFL. Last year I lost my wife in a car accident and found out at the same time she was having an affair with one of my teammates. Said teammate is still playing and all I want to do is rearrange his face every time I see him. This taught me a valuable lesson, don’t trust another woman with your heart again. My salvation has been my sweet daughter, Lily. We are both trying to heal. Returning home after training camp, I find a gorgeous woman in my kitchen. Apparently my sister hired a nanny to help me with Lily, and right now I’m really pissed. I can’t bring myself to fire her, thou. Lily loves her and she’s really an amazing woman. Now all I need to do is stop thinking about getting her in my bed.
When I was offered this job as a nanny, by Brody’s sister Julia, it was a Godsend. I needed to get away from Minnesota, and leave behind my past. Ohio is perfect for me to start a new life. Lily is a wonderful child and I’m enjoying taking care of her. The one problem is the attraction I have with her father. I realize nothing can come of this since he’s my boss, but I also see the way he looks at me. I also understand that Brody doesn’t want any type of relationship with any woman. How can fight that mindset.
The chemistry with Brody and Amelia is off the charts! Can Amelia convince Brody that they could be so good together if he just opened up his heart again.
I truly enjoyed reading this book so much I read in one day.
I received a copy of this arc in exchange for an honest review.
4 stars. This is a new author to me and I will definitely be looking out for her in the future. This is a nice and easy, breezy romance with some added heat and a good storyline. Even though it’s not original storyline, it is one I do enjoy and this one is well written and flows nicely and the characters were wonderful and developed nicely. Brody is swoony and a wonderful single dad, but his heart has been jaded. Hiring Amelia (Mia) as his little girl’s nanny brings some much needed sunshine into his life although with her comes complication because of how she makes him feel.
I enjoyed Brody and Amelia’s story and watching their feelings grow and their dynamic change. I loved their interactions with sweet Lily. Such a wonderful heartwarming ending!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.
This sports romance is touching and captivating. Brody is a single father who is trying to come to terms with the death of his wife. A wife who betrayed him and as a result has a hard time getting closure with what has happened. In the mean time being a quarterback he has to travel with his team. His sister hires her best friend for the job and Brody is upset. For one he finds himself drawn to Amelia and the more time he spends with her the stronger the bond adheres. Will Amelia be his second chance of finding love? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Don’t Mess With The Nanny!!
Brody is a star quarterback dealing with raising a daughter, the loss of his wife (along with her secrets) and trying to get his team to the Super Bowl. He needs a nanny to help with Lily, who is always first on his list, but he doesn’t expect Mia…she looks nothing like Mrs. Doubtfire especially when the first time he sees her she’s in her booty shorts.
Mia is not only the nanny but her background is in phycology and she is trying to help little Lily with her mom’s passing. Brody has given up on love since he was burned so badly by his wife but that doesn’t stop his mind and body from wanting Mia. Only thing is everyone knows that you don’t mess around with the nanny. The chemistry is sizzling. Will all three of them be able to make it out with their hearts in tack?
This was a new to me author that the description of the book intrigued me cause who doesn’t love a single dad book but also a nanny romance. It was super cute! I loved Lily, so very cute. You start this book wondering what’s going to happen is there a underlying reason to him being a single dad and what is it? I loved this book and will definitely look this author up again to read again.
This book wasn’t what I was expecting, not that it was bad but again I thought it was going tobe a little lighter. So we meet Brody who has lost his wife a year ago in an car accident where she was found in a car with one of his team mates proving that she was having an affair with him. He comes home to find Amelia a nanny whom his sister has hired. He is attracted to her but fighting it because he does not want to love and go thru suffering and betrayal again. Amelia is also attracted to Brody but really does not fight the attraction instead she seems to throw herself at him and want to convince him that he needs to let the pain go. I wanted to slap her sometimes I get that you want to help and that you like him but have a little self respect.
Rcvd and ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
The Nanny Rules by Melynda Price a five-star read that will make you want to break all the rules. This starts as one story and then turns into something so much deeper and more honest. Lily was such a great character, I sometimes find children in novels to be a little to well done, but Lily had a realness to her, the little foibles and interactions were believable and well written that is what made this such a fantastic read. Amelia wasn’t someone I liked all the way through, at times I found I wanted to shake her, but in the end, I adored her and wanted to wish her well in everything. Brody was the one who played the long game, he made the most difference to the story, he went from broken man to player of my heart. This is a typical will they wont they, but its done very well.
After losing his wife Brody is doing what he can to be a good single parent, but with his busy work and game travel schedule sometimes it’s hard to be there for his daughter. He knows he needs help, but admitting that fact is something he just won’t do. His sister sees him struggling and steps in and hires a nanny for his daughter Lily while he is out of town, and the moment he wanders into his home and his eyes land on Mia he knows there is going to be a problem.
She is beautiful, good with his daughter, draws him in like a moth to a flame… and that is a complication he does not need right now. But he just can’t bring himself to fire her…
As soon as I started this one I knew my heart was going to be in trouble, nothing says heart-tugging tale like a wounded single father adamant on not letting anyone close again for fear of falling. I had initially planned on reading a chapter before bedtime, but I ended up getting sucked into the pages of this story and wound up staying up until the wee hours of the morning to finish it. I loved watching “the dance” between Brody and Mia unfold, they had this undeniable spark that you could feel, but both were wounded by love and were determined to keep it out… but love just wouldn’t take no for answer. Really enjoyed this one, it was a charming story brimming with feels and swoons, highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
I really enjoyed this single dad romance. Brody is left more than a little damaged by the end of his marriage. Amelia is a beautiful character and I loved her quiet strength.
This was my first read from this author but I will definitely seek out more. Highly recommend
The nanny/parent trope is one of my faves and this one did not disappoint. It did start rather suddenly as there was no introduction of the characters but you do learn their backgrounds as the story progresses. Amelia has just graduated as a child’s psychologist but, because of some family turmoil, has taken a job as a nanny to cute little Lily. Lily’s father, Brody, a widowed NFL player, reluctantly accepts Amelia into his household. Because of a betrayal of his now deceased wife, Brody is now guarded against relationships with women. However, there is no denying the scorching hot attraction between Brody and Amelia. The story that follows is predictable but well told. Great characters, fiery love scenes, engrossing story, I will definitely look for more from this author! I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased opinion.
