Discover #1 New York Times-bestselling Patrick Rothfuss’ epic fantasy series, The Kingkiller Chronicle. “I just love the world of Patrick Rothfuss.” —Lin-Manuel Miranda • “He’s bloody good, this Rothfuss guy.” —George R. R. Martin • “Rothfuss has real talent.” —Terry Brooks OVER 1 MILLION COPIES SOLD! DAY ONE: THE NAME OF THE WIND My name is Kvothe. I have stolen princesses back from sleeping … WIND
My name is Kvothe.
I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep.
You may have heard of me.
So begins a tale unequaled in fantasy literature—the story of a hero told in his own voice. It is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man’s search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Top 5 books/series I’ve ever read.
One of my all time favorite fantasy books!
Excellent timeline that smooths the time jumps, very well done.
Waiting impatiently for book 3 in the series.
One of the best books I’ve read in any genre.
Rothfuss needs to finish the last book…
Beautifully written, lyrical language. The story is in turns funny, sad, and haunting. A great read
Loved the first two books of the trilogy, I just wish he would finish the last book.
Please please please finish book three
Immensely appealing and entertaining. Great characters and imaginative writing. A good-time read!
One of the best books I’ve ever read.
It’s difficult to overstate just how good this story is. Extremely well-written without resorting to any of the usual fantasy tropes.
I never say this, but I was too bored to finish the book.
Enjoyed the books, but would love to continue the series. When will the next book be out?
Utterly beautiful prose, great story, characters and world building.
A great fantasy novel, with good character development and sense of destiny, magic and music. I only wish the next installment was done and published. It must be hard to keep writing a series like this, but I encourage the author to keep at it.
This book is beautifully written. I don’t care what genre isn’t your favorite, this book should be read by anyone who loves a well written story.
Loved it, but wish he wouldn’t take five years between his novels’ releases.
The Name of the Wind, one heck of a great book, if you are looking this genre over for something to read, you just found it, I have been a long time reader for a long long time and this and the second book of the series is right at the top of all the books I’ve ever read, get it, you will not regret it.
Great characters and an interesting plot. Wish it were a little shorter in places. Sometimes it felt like it lost track of where it was going. Will probably eventually read the next.
