But he’s not happy about being poisoned and she’s going to have to mollify him.… she’s going to have to mollify him.
Which won’t be easy.
The villagers are blaming her too, but the wonky inn owner knows full well her bitter arch-rivals The Mori are out to do serious harm to her reputation, her business, and the land she cherishes. Alf’s had enough. A showdown with The Mori is on the cards.
It’s time for ‘nice’ Alf, to become ‘nasty’ Alf.

Only if she stops eating cake.

Clean and cozy witch mystery with subtle hints of darkness.

Poison in the Speckled Wood’s pool, a supernatural, tree-like forest Guardian, (called Vance) who dwells therein, shenanigans in the Whittle (Wonky), Inn’s well-room and threats from subverted villagers to lynch Alfhild ‘Alf’ Daemonne as an evil witch – will the evil Mori’s schemes to control Whittlecombe and seize Alf’s (and great-grandmother/ghost, Gwyn’s), powers never end?
Who is Silvan and why does Alf meet him secretly?

One of my favorite series!
Every book in this series has grabbed me on page one and keeps me interested till the last word. I love Alf and all her friends, and the enchanting setting for the books. In this book the dangers Alf is facing continue to grow and her enemies are getting more ruthless. I love reading about her adventures and hope they continue for many more books. The books are interesting and well written. I recommend this series to everyone!
Spoiler alert!
Wow – this fifth novel in the series was a resounding and fitting resolution to many of the seemingly insurmountable ills that plagued Alf and all she loves throughout the series thus far. I also really enjoyed that #5 affirmed that Alf has claimed her own hard-won power.
I’m certain upcoming #6 will stir the waters again – let’s hope only metaphorically!
Time for ecological problems (i.e. bad water) at the Wonky Inn!
Another zany installment of the Wonky Inn story. This is book five in the series. While it is best to start at the beginning so that you understand all the players, I think it is okay to jump in at any point. You might not understand all the relationships immediately, but you will catch on to the main parts quick enough. Of course, once you finish this one, you will want to go back and read the others anyway…
I love the combination of drama, mystery and humor that is found in these books. The stories are always well written, with intriguing plot lines and several twists and turns to the mystery. And the cast of characters is, as always, the best, providing help and comedy relief in near equal measures. The Wonky Inn just bubbles with that sort of controlled chaos that makes a place seem comfortable and welcoming. I am ready to grab a chair by the fireplace and talk to the ghosts!
Highly recommended.

There is water everywhere but the wood is dying and so are some of the people. The water has been poisoned and she is being blamed for it. She is going to go from nice one to bad one to prove it she is not behind it. See if she can show who is really behind it

Fun Wonky Mystery Adventure!
Another great addition to the Wonky Inn series has Alf learning dark magic to battle the Mori with some hilarious results. We meet several new characters and the intrigue surrounding the Mori intensifies. Fun storyline full of magic, suspense, drama, ghosts, fighting, and funny twist ending. Enjoy!
I received an arc copy and am happy to leave my honest review.

Book 5 picks up a few weeks after Book 4 ended. George is still missing and Alf is desperate to find him. Through this book, Alf is faced saving not only her loved ones, but the ecosystem and the community as a whole. This book has tested Alf on many levels and I can’t wait to read more in the future.

I loved this one and think it is the best by far as it is a little more grittier than the others but it needed to be as Alf has to find her man doing what ever it takes. We find out some very interesting information about a couple of those from the Wonky Inn that makes you excited to see what else will happen as well as a surprise return of someone from Alfs past that you don’t expect. I can not wait for the next book to see what happens to a couple of toads as well whether or not someone else stays in Alfs life!
A sweetly sexy, fun, witty and engaging mystery filled with danger, excitement, adventure and action packed twits and turns that keep your heart pounding and wondering what will happen next…. Love this fun and magical series that just keeps getting better with each new journey. Looking forward to my next visit to the Wonky Inn.
This family-friendly episode in the Wonky Inn saga takes about a day to read and anything further I might say would be a spoiler!

this is the 5th book of the Wonky Inn Series. IF you have not at least read the one before, it will be difficult to get into the story.
The book picks up where the last one ended – George, Alf’s fiancé is missing after the last battle with the Mori and Alf is getting desperate.
To add injury the water in her beloved Speckled Wood has been poisoned and it affects not only the trees, but all living creatures, including the villagers.
Alf is up to her neck, but with courage and friends she fights back against the Mori.

Book five in the Wonky Inn series and this one had me on the edge of my seat I was not putting it down until I knew what was happening. A book the held my interest throughout this is another good book in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
As with the previous four books, I found this to be quite enjoyable. I just love the idea of an Inn run by a Witch and a staff of ghosts. The predicaments they get into are different from any other story. Alf is trying her best to find her fiance George, so she takes a trip to London to seek help. Something in town is making the villagers sick and poor Mr. Hoo isn’t feeling well either. Everyone is blaming Alf for the sickness, so with the help of her ghost friends she sets out to prove she is innocent of any wrongdoing and find the responsible party. So who is causing the problems you ask? You will have to read the book to find out. Its a great series and I also would recommend you read from the beginning. They are stand alone books, but you get so much more from them if you read them in order. I received a ARC and am leaving an honest and unbiased review because I want to.

Alf is at her wit’s end she has to find George she will enlist the help of a dark Warlock Silvan. But finding her lost fiance isn’t her only problem something is wrong with the water two people are already I’ll her beloved woods are not safe either and poor Mr. Hoo. There will be a major battle with the Mori someone from her past will come back and she will find out something new about George it will have Alf wondering dose she really no the man she loves. Alf really needs a vacation after this one.

Jeannie Wycherley left Book 4 with a cliffhanger but Book 5 was totally worth the wait. George is still missing, the Mori are assembling and Alf must decided how far on the dark side she’s willing to go to solve both problems.
I like that Alf has some self doubts but uses them to make herself stronger instead of indecisive. She surrounds herself with wise and supportive people and ghosts, including her great grandmother, Gwyn, who is starting to trust Alf and showing a sense of humor. The story and the dialog are strong. I just really enjoyed this book.

That was some seriously awesome bit of sleuthing, magicking, and fighting! I totally enjoyed it! It kept me on the edge of my seat eagerly anticipating the next word! I can’t wait to read the next book!
It had been weeks and George was still missing so Alf took it upon herself to hire Horace T Silvanus who was a dark witch, necromancer, and mercenary to help her. What does the Mori have planned? Can Silvanus really help? What about the pictures on the phone? For these and many more question you really need to read this cozy. I Love Jeannie work! I love the twists in this story. You will be happy if you pick this one up. I really enjoyed the book. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
