I enjoy a little historical period piece. Similar to an Agatha Christie period piece. Relaxing and enjoyable
nice mystery
Absolutely loved this book. Well written, great characters. Well thought out.
Excellent
I enjoyed this read
First book I’ve read by this author. I enjoyed the older era and location style of the story. It just added to the story itself.
No idea why someone would be so diabolical toward family members, but that’s what makes it original. Very good story. I highly recommend.
A good mystery. Really liked the main character!! She was the main reason I enjoyed the book as much as I did.
Lots of twists in the plot.
THE MYSTERY AT UNDERWOOD HOUSE
Entering the story of the Underwood House mystery is comfortable, presenting the familiar pleasures of an English manor house mystery. However, entering Underwood House itself is somewhat uncomfortable for Angela Marchmont, an amateur sleuth. Her friend wants her to investigate the varied deaths of her husband’s siblings. Suspicion is fueled by a peculiar will of a malicious old man, said to have been designed to set each heir against the others. Mrs. Marchmont takes on the challenge out of friendship, and her inquiries lead to puzzlement, then danger.
Multiple suspects may be confusing: some of the heirs seem nearly interchangeable. Mrs. Marchmont is an adept investigator. The resolution is comfortably satisfactory. Underwood House is left tidy and mostly inhabitable as she wraps up loose ends, incriminating neither the butler nor Mrs. Marchmont’s old friend.
I enjoyed the historical mystery. Good weekend read before heading off to your work week. Different times, different way of life.
A lovely who done it. Nice historical context with all kinds of family secrets. I enjoyed it ?
Kwpt me guessing throughout book on who dun it.
If I read it, it was worth reading. I READ IT !!!!!!
I enjoyed the reasoning mind of the main character. A shame the children of the head of the family were all targeted to die.
Hard to put down!
This was a really good book. Well-written and well-edited.
Intelligently written.
