An easy-to-read British cozy mystery. The characters are two-dimensional. The plot has a few surprises. Good beach reading.
Predictable.
Fun read!
I enjoyed the read and it kept me guessing
A period mystery set in the English countryside. Language is lovely heartily recommend!!
Wonderful old English language!
Pedictable, easy read.
Enjoyed the mystery!
This book was easy to read and, while I figured out who “done it” early in the book, it was still interesting to see how the characters interacted. AND … the way the guilty one was revealed was unique. People would enjoy reading this book!
The slang language was difficult to follow which made the plot extra tedious. I had a hard time deciding what era the story was set in, which seemed like late 1800s to turn of the century for the first half of the story. Later in the story women were smoking cigarettes, electricity existed so I decided 1930-ish. The narrator was not like able, and …
It was awfully wordy, kept repeating things.
Read the whole series. Loved it
This was a fun “who done it” at a English country manor. Lots of possible culprits. It was entertaining to try and guess the actual villain.
Great for fans of Agatha Christie type mysteries, if a bit predictable
In this really fun murder mystery, our main character isn’t the brightest, and someone else figures it all out way before he does. It’s so much fun! Great characters.
Good read. Ending is a bit of a stretch.
Good old fashioned mystery read.
Was an old English who done it with too much going over the same ground ‘ would have been more interesting to hear the inspector. Side and interesting political aspects of the time and the boyfriend /fiancé time mining gold in Africa Give it a 3.5
I like be historical drama. The opening showed promise but the plot line became predictable. Boring dialogue and character and story development were elementary. I probably will not choose this author again
I enjoyed the last half of Murder at Sissingham Hall. It took a little long developing the charcters. It probably is more intended to be a building block in a series than a riveting mystery on it’s own. All in all a pleasant read.
