I enjoyed the historical setting, however it was very easy to figure out “whodonit” early on. The characters were entertaining.
Did not care for this book. Too confusing and drug our far too much
I enjoyed reading this book and the author keep you guessing as to who done it. Even tho I figured it out before the end it was a very entertaining book. Not to heavy.
I found this to be a rather bland “historical” mystery that is still in need of much tighter editting. The author simply wouldn’t pull it to a close, many chapters after I knew ‘who dun it,’ and grew increasingly bored. I did finish it, but those are reading hours I’ll never get back.
A good old fashioned style read. I would give the book 5 stars but half way through I got a good guess who the culprit was.
An excellent ‘English Country House’ mystery.
Great mystery with a classy heroine who is appealing and not annoying.
An Agatha Christie look-alike that does quite make it. Conversations drib and drab. Characters move around doing stuff. Didn’t meet my. Expectstions
Every thing
I enjoy the Angela Larchmont series
Predictable and too easy to guess the solution . Still, well written and fun.
Wonderful book.
If you are looking for light entertainment and a who dun it you might enjoy this book. It is well written with a good story line. The hero is particularly interesting. I cannot give it my highest rating for a mystery because to me it was pretty easy to figure out the murderer less than half way through the book.
The ending was not surprising, and the story was tedious at times, but the book was a good read.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a quick read due to the fact I couldn’t put it down.
Had me guessing till the end. LIked how written like it was a narrative of one character. Like to read more by this author
A really good “who-done-it” – fast paced, kept me guessing. I had figured out the murderer before the end, but what a fun puzzle it was!
A very transparent plot which became so obvious and overly dramatic that I quit the book. I do not recommend.
Better than Clue!
Very 1920’s English through language and references. Centers around the wealthy. You have to like the man that made his wealth in Africa. He spent several years there mining and accumulating a large wealth. He returns to high society and old friends trying to fit in. He tells tbe story. I had my suspicions on the guilty party, yet was somewhat …
