Vengeful souls don’t stay dead
They taunt the minds of the living until they throw themselves from clifftops.
Yet death turns a profit when you drive ships onto rocks to plunder riches.
Agatha knows one thing for sure: respect the dead.
Especially those who did not die quietly.
Now, a lonely witch has conjured a young sailor’s soul.
And woken them all.
Only Agatha knows the truth.
She … soul.
And woken them all.
Only Agatha knows the truth.
She hears it in the whispers drifting across the waves.
She hears it in the crackle of the flames.
And the marauders will stop at nothing to silence her.
Shh … Listen …
The Dead Are Coming …

The Municipality of Lost Souls by Jeannie Wycherley is an awesome story to read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I have read and I can not wait to see what this author will write about next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy, mysteries and horror.

This is definitely not one of Jeannie Wycherley’s cozy mysteries. Deeply haunting, a town so disturbing and secrets so buried, it’s surprising that it hasn’t fallen into the depths of Hell. I was not able to stop reading until I finally reached the end…and I still wanted more to this incredible story. I’m so glad I took a chance to read one of Ms. Wycherley’s stories that was out of my usual genre. It was so worth it!

An edge of your set thrilling journey that is filled with magic, mystery and witty charters, intriguing dialog, heart racing twists and thrilling turns. Was a highly entertaining adventure from beginning to end.
A strange story, but nonetheless difficult to put down. It starts slow, a small British harbour town during the 19th century. A middle aged woman returns with her ward to her hometown. When they arrive there is a ship that just hit the rocks and the seamen perish, including some people who went to rescue them. But a more sinister plot starts when some men grow greedy. Finally the sea or the dead seamen take revenge. A touch of horror, many dead people , but a study of human behaviour all the same. I am not a horror fan, but this book kept me reading.

Echoes of the past ring out across history, crushing lives, ships, souls and men
The dead are hungry for vengeance- and oh so angry
Dark deeds on the part of those who should have been guardians of the people have dark and deadly costs
Intense drama, action and supernatural elements

The first book in the The Haunted Durscombe Novels series and I want to read more. A well written story covering four generations, a supernatural story not to be missed. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sad,sad, sad. You cannot escape fate. As foretold when they were young, three cousins learned of their fate from their grandmother. And even though they tried to escape it, destiny will not be changed. One cousin was treated badly, pushed to be better and move up in society and she was never happy. The other two found happiness but they couldn’t escape. One cousin had a happy marriage and then everything blew up because of the evil men who run the town. One of them also contributed to the other cousins unhappiness. The third cousin left the town to live a life away from the talk and her grandmother’s witchyness. But she is brought back to help save it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
Set aside most of two days for this PG13 gothic, Victorian ghost tale set in Durscombe in the 1860s (by my best guess).

WOW!!! A suspenseful read. Worth the wait.
I have been waiting for this story since reading blurbs in this author’s other books.
Extremely well written. Draws you in from the beginning till the end. You are constantly trying to figure out what is going on because what you think it is – it might not be.
I do not want to take away your enjoyment of this story by saying too much. Read it for yourself.
I actually think I did a beta read of this book quite a while back. Just still as suspenseful as it was the first time.
My question is why do the good people have to suffer too? Why are they misunderstood? There are days when I do not like being a human being.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
When I was young, my mom had a book by Daphne Du Maurier, Jamaica Inn. Dark. Disturbing. Fascinating. Unforgettable. It was about wreckers.
The Municipality of Lost Souls took me back to that world but with flavors of the Salem Witch Trials blended in.
I LOVED it! Jeannie Wycherley did a phenomenal job writing!
