I love the town of Creek Water, and I think this is my favorite of the series. I loved the characters and the freshness of the story. As in all her books, Dineen’s voice makes reading a delight.
When a soothsayer gives you a cryptic message at the ripe old age of thirteen telling you at the age of thirty years old, a dog will jump over you and your life will change, is something that you poo-poo off until your walking in the park and your knock to the ground and a dog jumps over you that you remember the warning. Now whether you believe in synchronicity, coincidences, faith, or nothing at all and it’s all a bunch of nonsense. You need to read this wonderful story better yet, read the series!
There are replications of names and family history that allow people to heal and make stronger family connections. I liked the story. I liked the framework of seeing a memory more than once with more life experience. There were the quirky characters I have come to expect from Whitney.
I loved this book!!!! Lexi and Beau are *sigh* such wonderful characters. I enjoyed watching things develop. I loved this book as much as the first one!

What a lovely escape! The Move is all the things I’ve come to expect from Whitney Dineen — wit, charm, and romance. Read this book!
Whitney Dineen writes the most eccentric characters! They are charming and endearing and I enjoy reading their quirks. This book includes a touch of mysticism that adds to the flair. Loved reading Lexi’s story.
A thought provoking romantic comedy. Well written story. Had tears in my eye when discussions of the underground railroad took place. The two families reuniting after generations was heartwarming. Beau and Lexi’s romance was interwoven into the fabric of the story and the past. A lovely read.
For a fast, fun rom-com read, The Move packs a surprising punch with the always relevant topics of racism and the Underground Railway. This is my second read in the series, and I’m going to keep moving through it. Bertie is by far my favourite character and I’m glad Lexi became a bit more observant as the story went along. Loved the family twist. Definitely an enjoyable read.
Loved it. Couldn’t put it down. Great story and characters. Have added to my authors to follow. Thank you again for taking me away to another place!
What a charming story of love, hardship, and fate!! Great storyteller, very enjoyable read!
I almost quit reading cause I didn’t like the main character for the first part. Hang in there, the rest is a fun concept and interesting read with an interesting take on social changes from underground railroad to today. No raunchy sex scenes.
A fun read
Did not remember that I had read the previous book this was a real plus to take up where the last one left off. I enjoyed the characters the then and found the new ones enjoyable.
I’ve read a lot of rom coms, but this one was different. Well written, funny, offering a slight twist. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
This is 2nd in the series and is actually better than the first.
First book I’ve read in the series and loved it. I enjoyed reading Lexi and Beau’s love story. The story line was great where it talks about family history and the motivation to move beyond what we think is best for us. Love Lexi’s parents and the history and family connections (nice twist) that was portrayed in the book. Engaging from beginning to end. Recommended read. A women looking for a change and found it in an unexpected place. The move: our movement determines our fate.

This was a fun and moving story. The characters were very charming and so very realistic and the story had interesting historical references that made it exciting and added so much more to the lives that were unraveling around the town of Creek Water.

This is the 3rd book I’ve read written by Whitney Dineen; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Exotic Lexi, part English, part Jewish and part afroamerican, with her parents living together but not married, is a big city girl through and through. When she leaves New York City to visit her friend Emmie in Creek Water, Missouri, little she knows that she will find her soulmate and the job of her dreams. A funny and sweet love story. The Move was such a fun read! Lexi is given a strange fortune when she was ten years old. Twenty years later that fortune seems to be coming true and brings about changes she could never imagine. I did not read book one and had no problem following this story. I do plan on going back and reading it though. Great story with some really great characters!
