Now a major motion picture starring Kate Winslet and Idris Elba. An atmospheric, suspenseful and gripping story of two people finding love while fighting to survive. When a blizzard strands them in Salt Lake City, two strangers agree to charter a plane together, hoping to return home; Ben Payne is a gifted surgeon returning from a conference, and Ashley Knox, a magazine writer, is en route to her … writer, is en route to her wedding. But when unthinkable tragedy strikes, the pair find themselves stranded in Utah’s most remote wilderness in the dead of winter, badly injured and miles from civilization. Without food or shelter, and only Ben’s mountain climbing gear to protect themselves, Ashley and Ben’s chances for survival look bleak, but their reliance on each other sparks an immediate connection, which soon evolves into something more.
Days in the mountains become weeks, as their hope for rescue dwindles. How will they make it out of the wilderness and if they do, how will this experience change them forever? Heart-wrenching and unputdownable, The Mountain Between Us will reaffirm your belief in the power of love to sustain us.

Excellent
I couldn’t put it down. Very powerful book full of intriguing twists. Gave you a deep look at a very scary situation. Keep me engaged until the end.
This book was well written and until the end, you could not have anticipated the outcome.
I loved this book! The movie, not so much.
An excellent read! Love Charles Martin!
Medical details were spot on. Loved that aspect as a medical professional. Great characters and story build. Ending was a shocker to me; didn’t see it coming (maybe you’re smarter than me).
I loved this book and will be watching the movie with my book club very soon. I couldn’t put it down!! Highly recommend.
Great book. Did not expect the ending.
This book hooked me on Charles Martin’s writing. Can’t get enough.
A great book with wonderful characters. I put myself in their shoes and thought I don’t think I could have endured that long in the snow and extreme cold temperatures, while having to deal with one having a broken leg and the other broken ribs. I don’t know how I could have eaten a mountain lion, rabbits, or other wild game. But they are heroes …
First book I’ve read from this author & I loved it. Will definitely read more from him
I saw the movie, twice! I loved it. Then I read the book.

I liked it a lot. It was an easy read, interesting characters.
4.5 Stars!!!! I own a hardback copy of this book, but ended up borrowing the ebook and reading it on my Kindle. This was my first Charles Martin book, and certainly won’t be my last. I debated between 4 & 5 Stars, so I’d say this was a strong 4-1/2 stars for me. I enjoyed the story, found it very interesting and loved the interaction between Ben …
Just my thing – a plane crash high in a desolate mountain area in the middle of winter! A book with suspense, masterful story-telling and lots of heart. Totally captivating. Similar to Nicholas Sparks.
The Mountain Between Us is one of those stories that grabs at your heartstrings and gives ’em a serious tug. I fell in love with the characters instantly, and I suffered right along with them through all they endured. The movie was really good, but the book is astounding. I definitely recommend this book …in fact, I loved it so much that I …
This is another wonderful book from Charles Martin with memorable characters in a situation that tests their strength – their physical strength and the strength of their faith and character.
Couldn’t put this book down. Charles Martin is a wonderful author and this book did not disappoint
Loved this book and it’s surprise ending.
The book was really good. But the movie done on this book was not good, very disappointed, nothing like the book. I enjoy Charles Martin’s books. Only recently found this author, another good book of his is “Unwritten”.
