They’re the best of friends or the worst of friends. Neither one is letting go.THE FLAMEHere lies Louchana Valentine. She was a homeless, orphaned virgin.I never cared what my gravestone would say until I landed in deep with a powerful gangster. Lucky for me, my best friend happens to be ruthless too. I should feel guilty that he’s forced to turn on the man who’s been a father to him. Except … man who’s been a father to him. Except I’ve always known that Wren’s soul wasn’t as black as he claimed.
He was good.
He was beautiful.
He was mine.
He just didn’t know it yet.
And with Wren keeping me safe, I’ve got time left to rewrite the end of my story. But if he has his way, virgin is already carved in stone.
THE MOTH
I’ve never known anyone as alluring as Lou. Or as frustrating. Since the night she saved my life and stole my wallet for her troubles, I couldn’t stay away.
She became my onus.
My light.
My…anyway.
With nowhere to run, I’m forced to trust someone I never expected. At least with Lou safe in Blackwood Keep–far away from me–I’ll die with my conscience intact. Because she no longer looks at me with friendship in her eyes. Those iridescent blues shine with a different need entirely, and I’ve never been able to deny her.
This second installment in the When Rivals Play series is a continuation of the events that occurred in The Peer and the Puppet. Content suitable for ages 18+.

Wowsers!! I knew this book was going to be good.. but it’s not, Its so much more than that! its phenomenal!!
A stunning read from start to finish. The storyline captivated me, and made me desperate for more. Time vanished as words were devoured.
My face ached from smiling, my heart craved more of them and their drama filled angst, and my head was full of a thousand thoughts full of hope.
B.B Reid gave me everything I wanted and left me feeling europhic.
Lou is my kind of character. Shes sassy and tough but vulnerable and broken too.
Wren is the bad boy we all dream of. Hes dashing and dangerous. A mysterious enigma.
They challenge each other, constantly test each other and tread across boundaries that grow fainter by the day.
I cherished each and every encounter between them, silently pleading for more!
I would go as far as to say this is one of the best series I have ever read and oh my gosh theres more to come too!! *insert extra happy giddy dance here*
I CANT FREAKING WAIT!!!
“I’m the moth to your flame, Lou. I’d rather be burned a thousand times than be free of you.”
I haven’t yet read a book that was so focused on the main characters as TMATF was. And yet I was always captivated, from the beggining their story pulled me in and held my attention all the way.
Bebe sure writes flawless, in any kind of way or form.
Pleased to say i fell in love with Lou and Wren’s story. Cannot wait for book three. B.B. Reid is my go to author an awesome one at that. All her work is a must read.
Wren and Lou’s story was everything. Their friends to lovers story was one of the best ones I’ve ever read. If I’m being completely honest, the first part of the book did drag and have a slow pace for me. Also, it did take me a minute to get fully invested in the book. The rest made up for that and it’s still a phenomenal book. There is no way to read this without reading the first book (The Peer & The Puppet) before this one. The story was exciting, angsty, unique, and a full on page turner. I can not wait for the next book.
I am absolutely obsessed with this series. I read TPATP and TMATF in two days.. I can’t get enough!!
The Moth and The Flame was a dark, push and pull, bestfriends to lovers romance story. I wanted to pull my hair and claw my eyes out from all the tension Lou and Wren gave me!! All I could think was, “just bone already!!!” But the secrets that lie between them made the story demand my attention all the way through.
TMATF was full of delicious passion, jaw dropping secrets, and enough secrets to drown in. Everything you want in a book, The Moth and The Flame has it.
I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read Jaime and Barbie’s story.
THE MOTH AND THE FLAME was one of my most expected books of this year. I was eager to be drawn back into this world of “When Rivals Play” series and let me tell you it was above and beyond my expectations!!!
If you read THE PEER AND THE PUPPET (and I recommend you to do it) we have this vague notion of who Lou and Wren are. So when I found out they were getting a book, I was kinda hesitant because they were not the characters we wouldn’t expected, like Jamie, that I was most interested in. Anyway I didn’t know until now that they were a huge part of this puzzle and we NEEDED their story.
Wren and Lou met in unconventional circumstances and since then they were like magnets. Attracted to each other. And they couldn’t stay away from each other, forging a very solid and beautiful friendship, a friendship that was destined to become MORE. Lou knows what she wants and that is Wren. She wants more than being just best friends, Wren can’t live without her, but there are secrets that make him stay at bay from her in order to not hurt her more.
GAHHHHHH! This book is the perfect example of the slow burn, a friends to lovers read that will keep you on edge since the very beginning. Their friendship is pure PERFECTION and the development of their love was mesmerizing!!!! All this combined with the spectacular writing and all the essence that this series brings us angst, love, action, hotness, sexual tension and the development of ALL the characters. It was amazing going back to Blackwood Keep and get all the gang together. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the result.
Can’t wait for Book # 3 The Punk and the Plaything (Jamie and Barbie’s story). But before that book we need to have more of Four and Ever. I’m so intrigued where their path is now!! EVERMORE audio is coming on a podcast this month!! So we’ll have more of this amazing world!!! Thanks BB Reid!!! I love you too bestie!!!!!
The Moth and the Flame is the second book in the When Rival Play series and what a story it was. BB Reid has outdone herself with this tale which was one of my highly anticipated read this year, and I was not disappointed. I thought I knew what to expect but I was not even close. This story was gripping, breath-taking and engrossing and will have you hooked and at the edge of your seat from beginning to end. This is a friends-to-lovers slow burn romance between two complex characters with self-worth and abandonment issues. The chemistry between them was intense from the start, growing as time passed by until it eventually exploded of the pages of the novel.
The story ties into The Peer and The Puppet and we see the characters from the previous novel in this story. There were so many secrets revealed in this book, so many twists and turns it will all blow your mind but you will love every moment of it.
The Moth ad The Flame was a phenomenal read worthy of more than 5 stars. It was angsty, well-crafted and beautifully written and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of YA/NA romance.
What an intense and crazy ride! B.B. Reid created fantastic friends to lovers, slow burn to the core New Adult romance. Welcome back in Blackwood Keep, with fearless heroines and dangerous heroes. Aside from consuming Wren and Lou story, she gives us suspense, secrets and greatly missed heroes from previous and future books.
The Moth and the Flame starts with a bang. Being an Exiled associated is with deadly situations and this is how Wren and Louchana met. And this encounter sealed their “best friends forever” fate. Both, they are young and lonely because of lost parents. At first, they hid their feelings behind a wall of bravery but with time their bond became unbreakable. Supposedly. They are older, loyal and care about each other. Their exceptional friendship began to change into something more, deeper and risky. Because when secrets become revealed and Lou finds herself in mortal danger, will they both survive?
I devoured Wren and Louchana book at one go. Their story consumed me, filled with thrill and strong need to know how their relationship will develop. It wasn’t an easy ride, not at all. Wren, behind a handsome face, defined body, and dangerous aura hides a caring soul. His devotion to Lou was amazing. Lou is a reckless and stubborn girl, sometimes too much, and drives Wren crazy. She is a good girl, afraid of attachments because of her past. But Wren is determined to make her his, after a strong push.
Their love was developing really slow, they both were hurting and me, literally. But all this wait was so worth it!
B.B. Reid dropped some hints here and there. More drama and angst. More hidden feelings, forbidden love, and dangerous situations. I can’t wait!
Holy angsty hotness! Ok I’m going to try and put into words how much I freaking loved this book, but I might just end up fan-girling.
I absolutely loved Four and Ever and their book, but damn. Lou and Wren are freaking everything! And omg the chemistry and sexual tension between these two was amazing. I love a slow burn that just keeps building up the feelings until they finally explode, and damn was that explosion worth it.
“The flame in his eyes danced as he stared back at me, and only now when it was too late did I realize there would be a cost to letting him get close. My heart. The price I paid one day would be my heart.”
Wren, oh man. His character is so unique. He definitely has his alpha moments, but he also has such a sweet caring side as well. I usually don’t like the sweet guys, but both sides of him just balances out so well. The relationship between him and Lou was just everything.
And oh my gosh, these two had me laughing out loud so many times. Particularly Lou. She still manages to be a typical teenager in some aspects even though, because of her circumstances, she has had to grow up faster than most people her age. I really enjoyed seeing those parts of her though, because she is a teenager. She grows and matures so much by the end of the book.
“I’m never going to be the girl who waits like fine china to be dusted off and played with, Wren. I know what I’m doing out here. I won’t break.”
Parts of the plot line from The Peer and the Puppet tied into this one and it expands from there. A few of the things that happened I kind of got a feeling they might, while others completely shocked me. It kept me gripped the whole time.
I love where she left Wren and Lou’s story. It’s one of those endings that you close the book and just feel happy and complete with it.
“I’m the moth to your flame, Lou. I’d rather be burned a thousand times than be free of you.”
BB Reid is an amazing writer and this book sucked me in from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down.
Such an amazing read. This one is for sure a must read. Five freaking stars.
The When Rivals Play second book, The Moth to the Flame, is probably my favorite book written by BB Reid and I was seriously obsessed with The Peer and the Puppet. So what am I suppose to call my obsession with Lou and Wren? I really have no idea but I loved this story! BB Reid told one heck of a friends to lovers story.
Lou is a character that just isn’t safe around females with a pulse. He may be some type of thug doing all these illegal activities and be a total jerk most of the time to others. But give him the other half to his heart and he turns into this sweet guy who wants his woman to be happy. I was enamored, no… smitten with Lou and the complete package! Wren is perfectly a teenager and I really appreciate that. So many YA books have teens acting as though they’re adults so I appreciate these characters acting true to age.
I enjoyed this story so very much. I knew Wren and Lou were going to be a deliciously slow burn romance… they were. They were combustible and once they combined, I thought we’d all burn with the electricity coming off them. Besides the characters, that I just love, this storyline I’d do good and connected to the first book. I felt so much tension and could not get enough! I love the way BB Reid writes her stories. I was so invested in this story, my heart was right there with them. One of the best books I’ve read so far… worth way more than the 5 stars I gave.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
5 Trampy Bamby STARS
The Moth and the Flame is the second book in the When Rivals Play series by B.B. Reid and tells the story of Wren and Lou. It’s told in dual POV, and I highly recommend to read The Peer and the Puppet, first.
It’s a friend to lovers kind of book. It contains the well-known angst, drama, mystery, secrets, hotness, action. Very well written with slow-burn tension, intense and captivating, a story that will melt your heart and drown you completely in it. I loved that the book told Wren’s and Lou’s story from the beginning, how they became friends, and grow more and more to love each other, more than friends.
Wren, it’s part of Exiled, one of the most dangerous gangs of New York. One night, he meets a beautiful girl, who happens to save his life, and now he is indebted to her. But only at the end of the book, we learn how deeply is Wren indebted to Lou.
Lou is a very determined and stubborn heroine, but Wren is way more than her. He keeps telling himself that Lou is his best friend, but in time, neither he doesn’t believe that thing anymore, especially now, that Lou became more and more aggressive with her feelings and advances toward him…He can’t last much longer.
We meet again Ever and Four, my beloved Four+Ever. I loved how jealous they became to one another. Both with ugly and hurtful past and childhood, they just complete one another.
I highly recommend this author and her books. She is an amazing and talented writer. Her characters, her writing, and her stories are like reality. B.B. Reid will carry you on her magical world.
DBO~Review by Mary
“Something invisible, unbreakable, and incurable had a hold on us, drawing us in like moths to a single flame. Could we one day break free of it, or would it choose to break us instead?”
Welp, she’s gone and done it again. The highly anticipated, second installment to the When Rivals Play Series, The Moth & the Flame is HERE and B.B. Reid did NOT disappoint! When I first went into TMATF I had high expectations but still thought NOTHING was going to top Four and Ever… I was wrong! I laughed, I cried, I screamed, and I threw shit all in the name of Wren & Lou. Told in dual POV, it’s a best friends to lovers, slowww burn, YA/NA romance, with a side of gang stuff and a whole LOT of angst!
B.B Reid is a BOMB ASS writer!!! Like seriously you guys, I’m totally obsessed with her. Ever since I read the Broken Love Series, I knew that B.B was an author that I would ALWAYS one-click, and with each new release she hasn’t let me down yet.
“Every day, the film we kept over our friendship became thinner, and I became hungrier. Lou was taunting me, pushing me, and the only part I hated was that it was working.”
Louchana Valentine, A.K.A Lou has a had a tough life and it’s given her quite the hard exterior. She’s bounced around from foster home to foster home ever since her parents took off for Paris… without her. Never to hear from them again. Lou doesn’t get to close to anyone for fear of being left, that is until Wren.
Wren Joseph Harlan, a sexy bad boy and a member of Exiled. Wren has had his own troubles in his life and finds a kindred soul within Lou.
“I’m the moth to your flame, Lou. I’d rather be burned a thousand times than be free of you.”
After a dangerous encounter puts Wren and Lou in each others path, they develop a friendship that is EVERYTHING. Neither of them has any family so they become that for each other. But years into their friendship… the relationship between them begins to evolve… and so do their feelings.
But with secrets between them as well as this hypnotic attraction that they both are hell-bent on denying, things are bound to erupt.
“Lou was playing with fire, and it was only a matter of time before it engulfed us both.”
Wren is the ULTIMATE BAD BOY BOOK BOYFRIEND! Don’t get me wrong, he’s screwed up a few times, but the way he protects and cares for Lou *sigh* Wren caters to her, it’s no wonder the girl is spoiled rotten lol But seriously, Wren is an amazing guy that was just born into a bad situation and had to learn to adapt.
Lou, I loved her smart ass mouth! Lol, even though at times she was a bit childish and would overreact often, I can also understand her grievances, especially when it came to Wren… He’s her safe haven, her home, and when that’s threatened, she fights back! The emotions she was going through when Wren was continuously pulling away from her, gosh I could feel it in my soul!
“Lou was my Onus. My light. The very last tether to my soul.”
Wren & Lou together are what love stories are made of. They became fast friends and each other’s confidants. Through the years as they matured, so did their feelings until finally… the pot boiled over and they had no other choice but to STOP ignoring what was happening between them. And when they do finally admit things to one another, HOLY SHIT you guys,
Their story is full of ups and downs and pushing and pulling but one thing is for certain, there’s no way these two could live without one another.
“When it comes to you, Louchana, I can’t be reasoned with. You make me lose control.”
Although The Peer and the Puppet (When Rivals Play Book 1) will always hold a special place in my heart, and I was so glad we got to see Four and Ever and all my fave characters from there, I absolutely loved The Moth & The Flame! In TMATF we get to see a much bigger insight into the goings-on of Exiled, and Fox and how everyone plays into the bigger picture.
While some secrets are revealed in The Moth and the Flame there are still so many left to uncover and I for one am waiting on pins and needles for the next installment of When Rivals Play! I highly recommend!
Suspense, lust, danger, secrets, and a love that can last a lifetime. Hearts will be broken and secrets will be revealed.
Welcome back to Blackwood Keep!
“What’s mine is mine forever.”
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
This wasn’t the story I was expecting by any means, but it WAS an achingly brilliant story full of love and loss. I absolutely loved the first book in this series of stand-alone novels, so I was sort of expecting this story to be of similar nature… not exactly the same but just sort of of similar theme, same school, subject matter, maybe the same group of friends right off the bat, that kind of thing. Despite the inevitable (and flipping amazing) character overlap, this book couldn’t be more different than Four and Ever’s story and I honestly just floved that.
First of all, Wren and Lou are rough around the edges. Their story is pretty dark and bleak without a lot of silver lining, it pulses with angst and drama and yet in the middle of all the chaos is this epic friendship that these two mismatched souls have created. That friendship is truly extraordinary, it’s boundless and often overwhelming but it’s what holds each of the main characters together. Sure, their relationship is far from healthy but it’s not any less gorgeous because of the flaws. If anything, all the little chips and quirks make Wren and Lou’s story that much more wonderful.
Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of plot twists and drama to lose sleep over. Despite their epic pillar of friendship that quite honestly holds them both together, Wren and Lou are shrouded in unspoken emotions and enough sexual tension to set my Grannie’s panties on fire. The burn is long, slow and beyond worth the wait. This relationship development felt a lot more realistic than the insta-love stories that I’ve come to know and love, and that’s kind of awesome. I like that they are friends first. I like how protective they are over one another, and I love how they fall.
I don’t want to go into too much detail about either character because it would just ruin the fun for you. Wren is just everything a moody alpha male with a hero complex should be, he’s perfect. Lou is so freaking wonderful to me because she breaks the genre mold. Here’s a new one for you, despite being a kickbutt runaway who is shockingly self sufficient… she’s kind of needy. She let her walls down for one person and she seeks reassurance that she’s wanted and cared for by pushing that person to love her, to find her. It’s flipping brilliant if you ask me, I’m so tired of reading the same stories where to female lead has no flaws to speak of. I’ll be the first to admit that I do a lot of the crazier and more rash things that Lou does when she’s hurt, so of course I formed an instant connection with her.
Anyway, this book is amazing. I’m so happy that this story didn’t dive right into the plot that everyone and their mother was hoping this was about, because in building Wren and Lou’s arc we got a lot more backstory and insight into Four and Ever’s crew. Honestly, that alone would’ve been worth the five stars. There are answers in this story, and a thousand new questions. There is the promise of new books to come and new developments to be made along the way and I could not possibly be more excited to see where Bebe takes this new expanded crew.
“I’m the moth to your flame, Lou. I’d rather be burned a thousand times than be free of you.”
This series is pure gold, telling you. The tension had me gripping my kindle, paired with the action, the unraveling of old secrets, the push/pull…it had everything to keep me reading well into the night, unable to function until I inhaled the entire thing. Lou and Wren were entertaining as all get out, her snark, his quiet power, their fall, their denial, it had me frustrated as all get out, but oh the end result? Nothing short of me sitting here grinning like a complete idiot and wanting more, more, more of Blackwood Keep. I’m mesmerized by this group of characters and am completely salivating for more. Each couple unique, addictive, and their stories completely un-put-down-able!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!
“She was the magic filling me with light, and I was hopelessly bound to her flame.”

This engaging best friend-to-lovers novel is book 2 in the When Rivals Play series and is the story of Wren and Lou. The Moth and the Flame sucked me in from page one. This is a semi-dark romance full of intense chemistry as well as action, suspense, and secrets. True to this author’s previous books, you’ll be reading a long thinking you have an idea on what is going on and then a twist is thrown in. I love how the The Moth and The Flame starts with how Wren and Lou two met (with a literal bang!), spans over about two years, and illustrates how strong and deep their connection is. The characters are strong and likable, but there are also damaged and flawed. They do things and behave in ways that make me want to shake them, but then I also want to turn right around and hug them. Many times my heart broke for both Wren and Lou, but I also had my moments of laughing and joy.
Lou is a scrappy girl who had a rough childhood. I love how spunky she is. She stands up for herself and she loves Wren fiercely. She has fear of abandonment and you can see it play out in some of her reckless actions and in her relationship with Wren and others. At times, I was pretty annoyed with her – she was occasionally immature and childish, but it is fitting with her age (she is still a teenager) and her past circumstances. I will say that she is perhaps that character that has grown or evolved the most in the book.
Wren is wise beyond his years. His childhood was tainted The Exiled, a gang that he is now a member of. I really love how the author shows that while he is a member of a violent gang and has done some bad things, he has a big, good heart You can feel how much he loves Wren and how he also fears losing her given a secret he has. Even with how much he understands Lou and cares for her, I don’t agree with the times he just disappears which feeds into the her fears. Still, no one would question his feelings for Lou and he has had to make some tough, very adult decisions in his life.
Author B.B. Reid blew me away with her latest release, The Moth and the Flame! I’m not usually crazy for friends to lovers, however Wren & Louchana absolutely changed my mind! The Moth and the Flame is captivating, intricate, and dynamically written. I found it be both a major slow burn, yet too hot to handle, with heat for days. The chemistry between these two was all consuming and explosive, and just continued to grow.
“I’m the moth to your flame, Lou. I’d rather be burned a thousand times, than be free of you.”
While I enjoyed Lou, Wren’s character is complete and total bbf material. Who knew a young gangster would be so alluring? He’s hard as nails, and lives by ride or die, but is absolutely reverent when it comes to his girl. The push and pull between these characters was maddening, but I could not get enough of it.
“Í wasn’t just Lou’s best friend. I was her protector. I also needed her more than she needed me.”
“When it comes to you, Louchana, I can’t be reasoned with. You make me lose control.”
I loved that book two picked up in a different part of the When Rivals Play world, while still tying the books together, and uniting characters. B.B. gives us little breadcrumbs of information along the way, answering some of the burning questions leftover from book one, but left me starving for more! Get ready for open mouth gasping, jaw-dropping revelations, and still more mystery.
Lies will be told, lines will be crossed, waters muddied, hearts left broken – are you ready for The Moth and The Flame. Prepare your hearts babes, there’s no question you’re about to fall in love with Wren & Louchana! One-click today! Enjoy xo
Lou and Wren took me on a journey full of suspense and surprises. Everything I thought I knew about this story was turned upside down.
Lou has had a rough life. Since her parents’ death, she hasn’t had a place to call “home.” Wren her only constant and even he isn’t around much.
Wren is a protector. He feels responsible for more than he should at such a young age. His fears, loyalties, and guilt all drive him into being a fierce character.
These two were made for each other, and I loved how Lou pushed Wren. She made him stronger and made him realize what was most important to him.
This book’s plot was a continuation of the first book and the twists keep coming. Secrets are still being kept and now the main characters are tighter than ever. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out in the end.
– An Arc was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.-
GAH!! B.B. Reid has done it again!! The Moth And The Flame (TMATF) was absolutely amazing and was full of delicious angst, mystery and (slow-burn) sexual tension that could ignite a rocket! And when that chemistry exploded – the fiery passion between Lou and Wren could not be more explosive!! This is one of the best stories of 2019 for sure!!
Gah!! Reid’s “When Rivals Play” series is incredible. It is compelling, addictive and filled with so many breadcrumbs and shockers that leave your mouth open and gasping for breath! While TMATF is a standalone, it continues the backstory/ongoing storyline from The Peer and The Puppet (TPATP). It all begins when Louchana “Lou” Valentine crosses the path of “Wren” Joseph Harlan. She sees this mysterious and dangerous young man but never could have expected her whole life would seemingly change. But with secrets between them and a sizzling attraction that is difficult to deny, Wren must come clean about the truth of his past and risk losing his beacon of light and reason for living.
Gah!! I loved this story! I loved Wren so much as he was so much more than I could ever have imagined. We got glimpses of him in TPATP but his backstory was absolutely AMAZING!! I loved his tough as nails persona, but loved how caring, protective and possessive he was of Lou. He melted for her and his love and high regard for her was phenomenal. Lou, likewise gave as good as she got and was the Mouse that tamed the Lion with a look. She had sass and nerve for days and was his perfect match.
All in all, I loved being back with the Blackwood Keep gang again as I can not wait for Jamie and Vaughn’s respective stories! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
The Moth and the Flame by B.B. Reid is the second installment in the When Rivals Play series, which can be read as a standalone. If you an avid reader of this author’s works, you’ll how deliciously she portrays alpha a-holes of epic proportions and the hate they supposedly have for the heroine. In typical enemies to lovers tropes, this author might as well have her face plastered under the definition in the dictionary. However, in this latest novel, we see her writing in a whole different light. While the rivalry, the banter, and the anger are still there, there is a much softer side than usual in my opinion. It’s more a friends to lovers romance if you had a friend that basically forced their way into your life and wouldn’t leave no matter how much you pushed them.
It’s honestly such a unique story, and while it took me a while to get into it, you can’t deny the chemistry between Wren and Lou has an explosive presence throughout the novel. There are so many secrets, so much sexual tension and so many “almost” moments, it was hard not to scream in frustration. I’ve never really experienced a friendship like these characters, and the forbidden aspect really frustrated me. I did, however, find Lou to be very annoying most of the time, maybe even considered weak, as in letting her emotions get the best of her and thus, making stupid mistakes. But I did admire the strength she had as a person and as a young lady.
It was an amazing story but honestly, not as good as the author’s previous works. The only reason I gave this book a rating of 4 stars and not 5, is because I found it very difficult to connect who Wren was described as, to the model on the front cover. It was very distracting and almost false advertising in a way. Wren is described as this scary, brooding alpha teenager who makes people cross the street when he walks by. And it was just put off by the how much of a baby face the cover model had. I know I’m being picky and probably being annoying, but as a reader, it really threw me off.
Other than that, I loved the book. And I definitely recommend it as your next read!
I really enjoyed this book there was too much to this story and so much to Lou and Wrens story it was crazy beautiful, long, but perfect.
The thing I loved about this book was that it was told along side of The Peer and the Puppet and that we got their backstory so we knew how this friendship unfolded.
This was a friendship that really took some hits and had a lot of drama, lot of insecurities and a lot of fighting against each other. Lou and Wren had such a strong friendship but there was always something getting in their way.
Lou was a tough character but was very I wouldn’t say needy but she needed reassurance in her life and that’s what she clung to with Wren, sometimes he made her feel so special and then other times he would run away and try and do what he thought was right for Lou
Wren was and interesting character but was mixed up with the wrong people but once you know his story you can see why he is the way he is, he is such a Protector for Lou and I loved that about him even if sometimes he was unreasonable.
This book has it all, angst, chemistry and awesome storyline, that has you not wanting to put the book down and hanging on to every word to find out how this ends.
Another amazing book by BeBe Reid.
