This is a paranormal, time traveling story that I enjoyed from beginning to end. Emeline is a witch that can time travel but life is not as nice as what you might think. She is blamed for things in point in time while in another her timelines are so messed up that the man she loves cannot remember her. One of the things I enjoyed is how easily this story read while it was going back and forth in time. The characters are strong and I enjoyed watching them grow. I highly recommend Em’s story.
The Moon in Her Eyes: a witch’s tale
By: Nikki Broadwell
5 out of 5 stars
The story The Moon in Her Eyes: a witch’s tale by Nikki Broadwell is a fantasy book the I loved reading. It is a story that once it starts the journey that it takes you on doesn’t stop until the ending page. It had me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. I loved reading about Emeline. She is a witch who is living in 1694 with the Wampanoag tribe. She has the ability to travel through time which can at times have consequences. Emeline is a beautiful and strong woman. When she finds that timelines are all mixed up she wonders what has happened. She is trying to find the truth about what has happened and how to repair what has been altered. Will she succeed? Will and can the timelines be repaired? Read this story to find out. I could empathize with Emeline as situations are happening quickly and she at times wonders if she is the cause of some of the changes occurring. This is a fast-paced book that had me on the edge of my seat. The characters are constantly on the move. There are additional characters that are introduced in the story who help and interact with Emeline. Then there are those characters that I wondered about their true motives. Don’t miss out on a story that has magic, time travel, and dark forces. Highly recommended.
WOW!!
THE MOON IN HER EYES is Book Two in the “Witch’s Tale” series. I did not read the first book and never missed a beat. (I will, however, be going back to read it because I don’t want to miss a single word of this series). I enjoyed the author’s writing style, the character development and the way each situation is explained so I never felt lost at all.
There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the book that states “This story is meant for entertainment purposes only. I invoke artistic license for my rendition of events either past, present or future.” PHEW, glad to know that the author is clairvoyant and seeing what the immediate future of America is. YEESH.
This story is fast paced and it took me a few chapters to mesh with the cadence as it jumps back and forth between times – changing things along the way. There are so many things I highlighted while reading because some things scared me (not as in horror movie scared, as in holy moly is this real life today scared), while other things I found inspiring.
Here are a few of the things I highlighted:
“…until you reclaim your strength, you are useless to the cause.”
“Fascism – is that what we have now? Or would you call it a dictatorship?… The name for it doesn’t matter. What matters is that we stop it before our country turns into a place we don’t recognize.”
“…we are locked in the grips of the monster we created.”
“Just trust the process.”
“History is not written in stone.”
I really enjoyed the way this book is written and the way the story is told. It’s like Sliding Doors meets Time Keepers meets Twilight Zone. It is a fantastic story that I would recommend to my young cousins and my elderly mother’s book club and I look forward to reading more of this story in the future (of course, which future is still to be determined).
