The Model (Love is Blind Book 2)

Omg I love Lexie and Ryder’s story. The model is the perfect true love story where age and jobs don’t matter to. They had so many journeys and drama and great times that I couldn’t enough of the book. I loved this story and want so much more. The ending was perfect!

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc.

Lexie was getting ready for the photo shoot with Ryder the new up and coming model. Lana the bitchy model she had to deal with when she saw Ryder her modeling partner Lana was all over him. Ryder was checking out Lexie all the time. Ryder and Lexie slept together at her shooting site. when all of a sudden her assistant comes in a catching them together. When Lexie gets back upstairs where she finds Ryder had left without saying a word. Ben Lexie’s Ex kept trying to get to her apartment though Lexie could understand why all of a sudden. Ryder had been traveling around europe working now in Paris he was doing a runway gig. Ryder was wearing Armani in the show and he thought about the first person that helped his career Lexie. Ryder was in Hawaii as he comes upon a photo shoot and the photographer was none other than Lexie. Lexie and Ryder talk about what was happening in their lives. Ryder and Lexie sleep together again they get to know each other for the short time in Hawaii. Ben attacks Lexie outside a restaurant when she was with Raine her assistant. Lexie is going to Rio to be with Ryder for a couple of days to get away from Ben and what was happening. Ryder asked Lexie if she would like to come to the shoot at the waterfall. Lexie sees a picture of Lana sitting on Ryder’s lap as he is holding her she kisses him. Lexie you knew he had slept with Lana and here was the evidence. Lexie starts to get sick and Raine makes her an appointment at the doctors. Lexie’s next shoot is in Vegas so Ryder joined her there. Little did Lexie know what Ryder had planned while they were in Vegas

A sizzling romance read / listen. Narrator for Lexie came thru very ethnic but was also smooth in her delivery, Ryder’s narration was well done also. I really love when a romance with dual points of view have a dual narration as I think it really brings to life the individual characters and that was the case in this read as well. Plenty of steam thru out as these main characters came into and left each other like the tides. I love their chemistry, the multiple points of angst that kept the storyline flowing. Good storyline, good characters with growth and a beautiful HEA! I’m looking forward to listening to more from this author and these narrators!

The Model is a fun age-gap romance. It is quick with a bit of suspense and a lot of heat. Harlow Layne did a good job of capturing the fears and longing between Ryder and Lexie, who despite, their age difference are well matched.

I enjoyed the banter between these two and the fact that they are both genuinely nice people. I also enjoyed the way we got to see Ty and Sadie from The Intern, a related stand-alone.

There are also some noteable supporting characters that would make great stars in their own stories. Harlow Layne has written a book that makes an enjoyable escape on a lazy afternoon.

Lexie is a very well knows photographer who knows what she wants and how to get it done. She is a very independent woman who does not mess around, an amazing blend of sassy and sweet, a loving friend, but she also has some insecurities to over come.

Ryder is new to the modeling world, sexy as sin and all around Mr. Perfect. At first look you think he is a cocky a$$ but you realize very quickly that this is not who he really is, which is this sweet fun-loving young guy. Ryder is very mature for his age and find out quickly he loves his mama and just wants to help secure a better financial future for his family and himself. Ryder has the ability to make Lexie’s body do things she never even knew were possible from something as simple as a glance, while Lexi brings out the dirty and dominant man anytime she is around. He is what everyone pictures as Mr. Perfect, a great blend of dominant and dirty when in private but the sweet gentleman when in the public.

You realize very quickly that Lexie and Ryder are PERFECT for each other but have many obstacles in the way that they must work out and do it together if they want to try and have a future together.

This story was AMAZING. It has the perfect blend of sexy and sweet, alpha and heroine, all while making you laugh at times. Harlow Layne knows how to write a story that will keep you hooked until the end! I absolutely love this author and have nothing bad to say. She has quickly made it to one of my favorites and I can not wait to keep on reading more of her stories!

Talk about hitting you in the feels! This age-gap story grabbed my attention right away and I was completely engrossed in this story. It will pull on your heart strings and not let go until the very end. Lexi & Ryder had a magnetic pull to each other & fantastic chemistry. You definitely need to listen to this audiobook (or read the book if audiobooks aren’t your thing). Lacy Laurel & Connor Crais do a phenomal job bringing the characters to life! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Just listened to the audiobook version of The Model by Harlow Layne. What gripping, angsty, emotional story!

Harlow Layne wrote about Lexie and Ryder, the photographer and the model that fall in love. Lexie has a hard time understanding how someone as gorgeous as Ryder can find her attractive, but he is smitten from the first moment they meet. They have instant chemistry, and hot night together, and they go their separate ways until they meet up again professionally.

The chemistry in the book is off the charts. Lexie has a little bit of a confidence issue, in part because she has a toxic ex that still won’t leave her alone, and in part because of the industry in which she works. She doesn’t trust that she’s enough when there are “more beautiful” women constantly around. But Ryder is always honest with her about his attraction, even as the two deny the very real feelings that accompany it.

Overall, a very enjoyable book, and well narrated by Connor Crais and Lacy Laurel. I’ve heard Connor in a few novels, and he has a smoking hot deep voice that really just makes you swoon. This was my first Lacy Laurel novel, and she does a very enjoyable job narrating as well.

Wow! My first ever audiobook review!
So as you may know, I have never listened to fictional stories. Or at least not for more than a minute or two, lol.

I usually feel that character voices are a very personal thing. I’m like “No! You’re wrong! He doesn’t sound like that”.
But after talking to a few of my followers I decided to give it a go. I know I’ll find a narrator or two that I love…I just need to find them.
I’ll start with the story.

LEXI
Lexi is a spunky confident photographer with an amazing talent…and blue hair! Which I loved as my hair is often blue, green, pink…it changes, lol.
She is newly single as she caught her ex-boyfriend screwing her assistant and was like “Nah, fuck-face, you’re outta here”.

So there she is living her best life and she’s at work one day when she hears this amazing deep voice that gets her knickers wet, and then when she turns around she sees that the voice belongs to an extremely hot male model.
Lexi is in her early 30s and Ryder is in his early 20s and being as hot as he is she figures that he’s not gonna want her…wrong, sexy Lexi!
Their story is actually quite sweet which isn’t something I usually read but I enjoyed it because it was well written
Now, Lexi’s ex isn’t quite as done with her as she is with him and turns out he’s got a dark and nasty streak which causes problems and puts her in danger.
It’s funny how you think you know someone only to discover that they have this whole other side to them that you just did not know about.

RYDER
So this guy was sweet as sugar and hot as hell.
I’m going to be honest here. I just can’t bring myself to crave the gentle kind of male he is.
He’s kind, considerate, in touch with his emotions…which for you may be just what you want but for me? I need the alpha-holes who fuck you like they hate you.
The guys you wanna punch as much as you wanna suck them off.
His saving grace was the fact he had a massive cock and knew how to use it, lol.

Now, the sex in this book was freakin’ scorching!

Okay…I wasn’t feeling it. Ryder’s narrator wasn’t too bad but I just didn’t feel like Lexi’s jived with what I would have imagined she sounded like.
Like, it made me feel that the story was way more light-hearted than it was.
Reading the book and then listening to it made me feel two different ways.

Final thoughts on THE MODEL by Harlow Layne – Narrated by Lacy Laurel & Connor Crais
The story was good but the female voice didn’t quite do it for me in this case.
I will say, however, that I did like Lacy Laurel’s voice and would actually enjoy listening to her read another book, it just didn’t match (in my head) to this story and character.
So 4 stars for the book and 3 for narration.

This book is sooooooo hot! Let’s start there.
Ryder is such a sweetheart and Lexi a kick-ass woman. They are great together. No doubt about it. I love how they balance and complement each other.
You can feel their chemistry since the beginning, yet despite how everything was developed, I still find it a bit rush. I don’t have problems with lust at first sight, I get that, but I wanted more deep moments between them before getting to the love part.
On the whole, it’s an entertaining book. One you’ll need to fan yourself while reading it.
