I fell in love with all four Hockey players when I read the first book and I was super excited to read everyone’s story!
The story of John Logan is endearing and dreamy! He’s the kind of guy that seems to be the biggest a**hole in the world but when he let’s you see behind the theatrics he’s the sweet and responsible man every women dreams about!
Alcoholism and its effects on family life is a really serious topic and I loved how in this book it was described, how one’s life can be ruined completly, dreams can be crushed beacuse an addiction!
Grace’s insecurities and self-doubt is really close to me, as I’m struggling with both myself! One sentence can crush somebody’s confidence and make her doubt herself. She needs constant proof to believe that a guy can be really interested in her because she has trust issues.
The whole book just radiated sweetness and sexyness at the same time! Reading about two people falling in love always fills me up with joy and love!
These books are perfect to cheer you up and provide light entertainment!
I recommend this to everyone who loves cute, smutty love stories!
“My girl wanted me to send her a boudoir shot of me on a red velvet chaise lounge, but you have no idea how hard it is to find a goddamn red velvet chaise lounge.”
I’m back for some more Off-Campus! I waited a bit to continue this series because I really loved the first book, and knew that I’d be unfairly judging the other books in this series if I just jumped straight into them. But now I was ready for Logan and Grace’s story, and I’m glad to say Elle Kennedy once again did a fantastic job with “The Mistake”!
Grace Ivers cant believe that she’s caught the attention of one of Briar U’s hottest hockey players, John Logan. She thinks things between them are going really well and that Logan may not be the sex-crazed college kid shes been lead to believe. But one night Logan makes a careless mistake that ruins everything they had, and he does everything he can to make it up to Grace and prove that he’s worth a second shot.
I liked Logan and Grace’s book and relationship way more than I expected too! In just the first few chapters I instantly found myself relating to Grace in many ways, which led me to become really invested in her character. When it comes to Logan, I actually ended up liking him a lot more than I thought I would. I’m usually not a fan of guys who will hook up with any and every girl he can, but Logan quickly proved that for the right person, he could leave the constant hook-ups behind. I think they fit together perfectly, and their love story was adorable proof of that. Also I have to mention all the cute cameos from Hannah and Garrett, which always got me so excited since I absolutely loved them.
The only part of this story that I had an issue with, was the last few chapters where Logan made another “mistake” and had to sort of win Grace back after they were fighting. The issue is that I was totally on Logan’s side, and I don’t believe he made any mistake at all. In my opinion Grace blew the whole thing out of proportion in a way that almost felt out of character. The fight and angst did create a really cute moment where they finally confessed their love towards each other, but it felt kinda forced and pointless.
Overall I still loved this story and I’m so excited to continue this series and see where Logan and Grace’s relationship goes through the rest of college. I feel quite confident in giving “The Mistake” 4/5 stars.
Another great book by Elle Kennedy. Sweet NA story. It took a bunch of convincing but Logan & Grace finally found their way to each other. Both narrators, Lee Samuels & Lorelei Avalon were new to me. They both did an excellent job!
This was a great continuation to this series. Watching Logan and Grace grow as people was tough at times but I’m so glad they got there. I loved that Grace never backed down and Logan never gave up. This series has great characters. It’s a story that will pull at your heart strings but also tickle your funny bone.
John Logan . Just saying his name tells everything there’s to know .
He’s just too much to handle.
He literally blow me away.
With this one the emotions where all over the place.
“I need you. I can’t stand the thought of being without you.” He releases a shaky breath. “You’re the last person I think about before I go to sleep, and the first person I think about when I open my eyes in the morning. You’re it for me, baby.”
I think he made half the world population fall in love with him. How could you not?
It was one of the sweetest and sexiest ride on a rollercoaster of feelings.
Grace and Logan’s story didn’t start in the best kind of way. At first it made me hate Logan so bad.
But then I have to say , he scored some pretty good points .
I loved Grace. At first she was an innocent freshman , then she became a stronger , independent woman . She was ready to make Logan work for her. And she did just that. And I have to say I never laughed so hard.
I simply loved it all.
The chemistry was over the charts .
I gave it 5 stars
I hope you’ll enjoy it like I did!
5 TED BUNDY STARS
I loved The Mistake so much more than The Deal, and I LOVED The Deal. I just found myself really connecting with this story. With both Grace and Logan, I saw traces of myself in them. From their little quirks to their deep struggles, I felt like I saw pieces of my life playing out on the pages.
And lord, can we PLEASE talk about the humor?! This story was so freaking funny. I think I spent half of the book cackling like a hyena. If Grace’s day job doesn’t work out, sis has a future in comedy.
I can’t wait to continue on with this series; I have a feeling it’s only going to get better!
I ADORED Logan in The Deal and was way too excited to read his “love story”. However, this story definitely can be read as a stand-alone story as well.
I liked Grace. I didn’t feel the same connection I had with Hannah from The Deal, but she was cute and sweet. And I am so happy Logan ended up with a girl who I know will love him “forever”. He deserves it. And he needs someone to make him see he deserves it, which I feel Grace does.
Read this sorry within 24 hours. 4 Stars.
*4 Stars*
I’ve been enjoying reading this series so far. It’s been sitting on my kindle for so long. Logan was a great character. I enjoyed getting to know him underneath the playboy college kid side that we’ve seen so far. The depth underneath his character, and his family issues added to his story well.
Grace was a pretty cool character, and I loved how she has some realisations at the start of the book, and makes the changes she needs to move forward in a way she is happy with.
I loved she and Logan together. The comfort level between them and their banter was awesome. I also really enjoy the secondary characters in this series, so it’s fun to have them along again, and I look forward to reading about more of them as I continue the series.
Enjoyed this and would recommend.
This is one of my favorite sports romance series…I also loved the writer’s other book in series, “The Deal”. The characters have “meat on their bones”. Can’t tell you how much I love this series…if you read a book more than once you know it’s a good read. Enjoyable!
When John Logan, the famous hockey player, ends up in Grace’s room by accident, neither of them know that that night will change it all. After leaving each other on bad terms at the end of her freshman year, Grace is ready to show him that she grew up and will not let him come back into her life so easily, he will have to earn it. Logan, who could have any girl he wants, will do anything to win her back… Even the most ridiculous list of tasks.
At the beginning of the novel, we discover our two main characters. Logan, the hockey star, who is attracted to his best friend’s girlfriend and doesn’t know how to make it stop. On top of that, he is living one of his last years of freedom before having to deal with his fate. Grace is a freshman, innocent, a bit awkward and knows nothing on how to act around hot guys like Logan. The most improbable couple, but the sweetest.
Once more, Elle Kennedy gives a lot of depth to her characters and manages to include into that the sexiest and funniest scenes. The Mistake is hilarious, we discover all the challenges Logan has to fulfil to win Grace’s heart and, let me tell you, buying her flowers would have been much easier. This book is fantastic, the love story a bit more complicated than the one in the first novel, but just as good.
**3.5**
Grace is bound and determined to have an epic freshman year at Briar U. But as it gets closer to the end of her first year she realizes that she may not fulfill all of her goals. Until a chance encounter brings her face to face with John Logan, one of the star players for Briar’s hockey team and renowned player. They hang out a few times but when it comes down to the nitty gritty Logan can’t go through with it because thinks he is hung up on his best friends girl and he recognizes that he can’t have Grace being a replacement. But once he walks away he realizes that he never should have walked away and Grace was what he was looking for all this time.
While I enjoyed this book I didn’t love it as much as I loved The Deal. I didn’t see or feel why Logan was so obsessed with Grace and why he needed to get her to forgive him. I didn’t see how there was a connection. Then she gave him a list of things to do to earn forgiveness -there were six things for him to do and for the most part it was told to us, we didn’t get to see those shenanigans. And I think that is what my issue with this book was, there was a lot of behind the scenes that we didn’t get to see that could have had great potential. Potential for laughs and swoon and tears. So much but we didn’t get to see it. I will say that I loved Logan – my heart broke for that boy and all that he went through and was going through. So I loved that he found his anchor, his girl that gave him the peace that he needed and deserved.
UNMISTAKABLY AMAZING!!!
Another great read and captivating storyline
I was so enthralled with Logans life. Poor baby.
I just wanted to hug him so bad. Now that’s saying something, right?!… when you’re invested that much in a character that you want to literally be there for them.
**sigh**… ALL. THE. FEELS!
This is Book 2 of the Off-Campus Series.
This is the story of Logan & Grace. Logan is a junior at Briar U and is on the hockey team. Grace is a sophomore at Briar U. The story starts for Grace in her freshman year when she meets Logan at a party and he’s drunk, so he doesn’t remember it. Then he decides to go to a party at a frat house, but he goes to the wrong one, and he by chance knocks on Grace’s door. She has always been attracted to him and has a crush on him. Logan has good and bad family history. Grace has a best friend who betrays her. The storyline is one of the best I’ve read. The writing is superb. The emotions are high. There is a lot of sadness, as well as happiness. I love Logan and Grace. I highly recommend this book. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
Loved every minute of this fun and sexy story.
Why are these hockey players so f*cking hot? And what’s up with their totally effed up dads? I remember cursing them in my head multitude of times. Ugh.
Before I get carried away, let me just tel you that reading the Off-Campus series had been therapeutic to me. I’ve been really busy these past few days, and I really needed something that would put me at ease. Reading Elle Kennedy’s books always perk me up so I read The Mistake as often as I can. And I love it!
Love love love the sizzling, slow burn, sensational second chance romance between Logan and Grace. Theirs was like Garrett’s and Hannah’s, they started as acquaintances, then enemies, then friends, then eventually, lovers. Theirs was tested through time, unlike those insta-love-stories most sports romances I usually read. I love the whole story, hot and slow and burning.
Also, I love Logan’s friends. I love everyone in the hockey team. You would think they were all bossy and obnoxious, but the truth? Deep inside, they’re softies. I really like their home dynamics. They don’t just treat each other as hockey mates, but as friends and bros. Like real brothers. Man, that’s hot!
I love their sexy banters, their good-natured insults, heck, even the way they woo and court their muses. Yep, at this age and time, there are still guys who know how to woo. And that’s major Griffindor points for me. Yay!!
Another thing I love… those tasks Grace asked from Logan.. the love letters, the blue rose and oh my gosh, the red velvet lounge boudior shot. Man, I’d love to receive a photo of that guy in that chair.. Hmmm..
Seriously, I love The Deal, and I love The Mistake… BUT… I love Elle Kennedy the most! Now on to The Score!!
4.75+ Stars
Well, it turns out I love NA! Of course, it’s mainly when done by Elle Kennedy and about these freaking gorgeous college hockey players.
I like that so far the stories on the Off Campus series are not filled with totally immature shenanigans. This one did have a couple more… let’s say “age-appropriate” things happening but nothing so terrible that made me want to fork my eye out.
So, we have John Logan, whose future is as bleak as a prison sentence and has spent his college time as a man on death row, packing as much “fun” as he possibly can. Again I find myself wondering what’s with today’s kids, their obsession with partying like there’s no tomorrow and how they will regret it if they don’t get it all out of their systems before they hit 22… but maybe that’s a topic for another time.
Grace doesn’t really get off on being the center of attention, tends to babble when faced by cute guys and has the worst best friend on the face of the Earth. Really, I don’t believe Ramona could be redeemed as a friend by any means. That bitch was a self-centered, immature, envious, stupid skank and I hope and pray to all that is holy that I never, ever, ever read about her again. But I digress…
Logan was seriously lost in his butt… I mean confused in the head, thinking he had feelings for Hannah, Garret’s girlfriend and the cute couple from book one, The Deal (which if you haven’t read go right now and one-click. Trust me). And that’s when Logan and Grace meet. Even though the pseudo-relationship between Logan and Grace began basically because they hooked up and Logan didn’t get her off.
I really liked that when Logan fucked up, (and he did so, BIG time) then realized his mistake, Grace didn’t immediately take him back. The groveling involved in this story was absolutely epic, from writing a love poem to a boudoir shoot on a red velvet chaise lounge and celebrity endorsement.
Logan definitely steps up his game once he realized his feelings for Grace are deeper than he had ever experienced before.
I just loved Grace. I think she is going to be one of my favorite heroines this year. She made me laugh out a lot. She was sweet and a genuinely good person, but when needed, she had the gumption to put whatever and whomever to a stop.
Logan was a sweetheart, seriously freaking hot and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay accomplished… if you know what I mean. When I read about these 20 year-olds super sex-gods I always wonder… Where the fuck are they in real life????!!
Some of the parents’ antics ticked me a bit, but overall it was an excellent read and I’m anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.
While I was satisfied with that tiny scrape that was called an epilogue I would love to see a little farther in all these couples lives and families *nudge, nudge, Ms. Kennedy, I want to know about the babies*
This book put a permanent smile on my face. I loved every bit of it. The characters in this book really felt so special. I couldn’t get enough of them. Both main characters have excellent character growth and I loved their progression from beginning to end. Logan is such a swoon-worthy hero. The way the he treated Grace and the things that he did for her just melted my heart into a puddle. I loved Grace’s strength in herself and her ability to do what was right for herself regardless of the people around her. She is the perfect female lead character. I adored her. I loved seeing Hannah and Garrett and the other hockey guys. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series and get to know the other guys more. The romance was awesome. Logan and Grace were so in tune with each other and they just got one another on such a deep level. Logan was so sweet to her and she didn’t hold anything back once they were together. I enjoyed the plot of the story. It did clean up a little too nicely at the end but overall it was satisfying and compelling. I was so glued to this book that I finished it in a single sitting. If new adult college romance is your jam then I definitely recommend this one.
I read the first book to the Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy last year during the Romanceopoly 2019 Challenge hosted by @UTCBookBlog and @PeaceLoveBooksXO. I decided to read The Mistake, which is the second book in the Off-Campus series for the Campus Corner square of the Romanceopoly 2020 Challenge. I wanted to come back to this series since I fell in love with the first book in the series. I loved Garrett and Hannah’s story and wanted to find out who John Logan was going to end up within the series.
John Logan is one sexy hockey player who could have any girl he wants on the Briar University campus. He knows that life after college, though, won’t be all sunshine since he has made a promise to his brother to take care of their father. He also has to help take care of the business that his father owns. This way, his older brother can finally go travel with his long-time girlfriend. Logan, though, wants distractions in the meantime before that happens, so he hooks up with any girl that comes on to him at parties. He doesn’t realize that he’s about to find his match in a freshman named Grace Ivers. He doesn’t expect to fall for a freshman, especially after he finds out she’s a virgin and is not like any other of the other girls he’s been with at the University.
Grace is the perfect girl for Logan to reform him to someone better. She’s determined to have a great time in college, but she still has her focus on her studies. Unfortunately, her best friend of 13 years chooses not to believe Grace when she mentions that she was with Logan one night. Instead, she helps spread rumors about Grace. Logan is very protective of Grace the minute he’s with her and wants to prove to her he’s not a player with her. These two will have issues at first, especially with trusting each other. It takes time away from each other to realize they are meant to be together. It also takes some romantic gestures too.
I loved The Mistake, but I will say it doesn’t have the spark that The Deal had for me. Garrett and Hannah still won me over more with their story. I think it’s due to Logan being a player in the book and how he handled certain situations. I did like Grace in this story. She doesn’t let rumors and drama take over her life. She ends up standing up for herself several times, which is one of many reasons why I liked her character. Logan has so many people wanting to stick up with him and his dreams of actually becoming a hockey player, but he ends up blowing them off. Grace puts Logan in his place several times in this book, and I loved her for it.
There were steamy scenes between the characters in the book, and I loved how Logan took care of Grace in the book. He was adamant of not taking her virginity. He wanted it to be special for her.
I loved the ending, and now I’m looking forward to Dean’s book. Although he is the biggest player of them all, I want to know who he ends up in his book.
I’m so glad I finally am reading Elle Kennedy’s books. I love her writing style and the character she writes in her stories. She also makes me want to watch more Ice Hockey again. I’ve missed watching it.

5 The Best Mistake Crowns
This is book two in the Off Campus Series by Elle Kennedy. I blew through The Deal in one day and immediately jumped into The Mistake. I cannot get enough of Elle’s writing, her wonderful mixture of humor and angst is utter perfection. Logan and Grace are the epitome of Opposites Attract and I could not get enough. I highly recommend reading The Deal first, it’s where you meet everyone and start getting a feel for them. It’s also where I fell for Logan and then this book cemented my love for this man.
“Tucker is noticeably quite during the drive to Omega Phi. He might also be frowning, but it’s hard to tell considering someone shaved off all of Hugh Jackman’s body hair and pasted it on Tuck’s face.”
Logan is the embodiment of party animal/player. He can have any girl he wants and he does so on any and all occasions. When he first meet’s Grace it’s after a bathroom hookup that he doesn’t really remember. But as the story goes on and he and Grace have their Meet-Cute you learn so much more about this party boy. You delve into what really makes John Logan tick and why he does the things that he does. His background is hard and one many have to go through, it ultimately makes your heart ache for this man who doesn’t think he has any options left and that his future is already set and bleak. Despite all that or maybe because of it I absolutely adore this man, the things that he does to win Grace are enough to make even the most pessimistic swoon. John Logan no doubt take a piece of your heart with him.
“I’ve given hand jobs before, plus a few blow jobs that I know were a huge success because…. Well, semen and all that. But I don’t have enough experience to consider myself an expert penis-wrangler or anything.”
I freaking Love Grace, when we first meet her she so sweet and innocent with a touch of OCD and the terribly funny habit of babbling. But that’s what endeared me to her. She was not a Puck Bunny like these boys are used to. She’s smart and has her own mind and knows what she wants. When stuff goes down she makes John work for her and I loved that to no end. He had to know that she wasn’t a pushover and wouldn’t take that kind of behavior anymore. This girl’s sassy sweetness is enough to give you a toothache, and I absolutely loved how they complemented each other.
“The idea of Grace with another guy is unacceptable. I won’t go as far as to say she’s mine, but….well, she’s mine. She’s mine to hold and mine to kiss and mine to laugh with. Yup, mine.”
Elle has scored with this series that is fraught with humor, heat, angst and all the swooning moments you could possibly handle. Oh, and I am all about the Harry Potter references sign me up for all of it!!! I only just found this author and I cannot get enough of her writing style and storylines that hold you captive from the start. This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites and I can’t wait to see where she takes us with Dean!!!
The second book in the Off-Campus series had me glued.
Grace is the geeky girl next door and Logan couldn’t be more opposite in a match for her. He’s the hero of the hockey team; every girl’s (and probably a few boys) pin-up. So how, in god’s name, do these two get together? Now there’s a story worth reading.
I loved Grace’s character. She has balls, stands up for herself and takes no shit. I applaud her level of self-respect and what she did (or rather didn’t do) to make John Logan sit up and re-evaluate his dating life. He has a lot to do if he wants to win Grace over and I love how hard she makes him work for her affections. But John also has home on his mind and his future in Hockey to consider. Which way will destiny take him?
The camaraderie, banter and support between players and housemates warm your heart and is written effortlessly by Elle Kennedy. I’m loving this series so far. It’s quickly becoming one of my favourites.
