The O’Connell family collides with danger in this shocking new story from NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Lorhainne Eckhart.
Eighteen years ago, Luke O’Connell’s father was there one day, gone the next. His mother sat him and his siblings down and told them their father was gone, it was just them now, and they wouldn’t be seeing him again. But Luke never believed his father could just … believed his father could just walk away from a family he’d said he loved. Now, from his role within a secretive military organization, he uses the intelligence he can access to follow leads on his father, but each is a dead end.
Luke finds himself endlessly embroiled in deadly missions from secret bases, posing as a civilian for front companies, and tracking national enemies to capture or kill. But now, his questions have brought trouble back with him onto US soil, all the way to his hometown—and ultimately, his quest might put his family in the line of fire.

This is not at all what I expected. There’s a surprising twist to this powerful tale that is somewhat unsettling. The story paints a picture that is a bit disturbing; one you hope would not be true but knowing that it could be. The storyline will keep you a bit off center but intrigued throughout. You will definitely find this one hard to put down, and when you do, it will leave you feeling a little disconcerted. It’s one that makes an impression that lingers. But I feel there’s more to come for Luke’s story, and most decidedly there’s something brewing about their missing father. Don’t let this one get past you. It’s a definite must read in the ongoing O’Connell Clan saga!
To me, this is not a romance. This doesn’t take away from the fact that this is a good story though. Following Luke O’Connell, he accidentally draws his family into the line of fire, where a mad man wants to use Luke and takes his brother’s family as collateral. It was fast paced and really interesting, keeping me interested. I find this more as a set up to help us continue to understand the o’Connell’s rather than a standalone novel.
I listened to the audiobook and it was so well done. I loved how there were sound effects, such as when people are hearing each other through a radio, which then ends up being a little more staticky. It was really well done and I enjoyed John Mo’s reading overall.

The Missing Father
The O’Connells, Book 6
By: Lorhainne Eckhart
Narrated by: John Mo
Talk about a powerful punch, this installment of the O’Connells is action packed and gets you thinking. It features Lucas, who works ghost ops, returning home after a mission. But things follow him, and now with his family in danger, he needs to work fast and keep them safe. Trying to dig up what happened in the disappearance of his father 18 years ago doesn’t help the cause. Could it be the reason things are making their way home? And Rosemary, the woman he met at the end of his last mission, will she remain in his life? Lorhainne Eckhart involves us in the lives of the O’Connells, and each book is amazing. This though provoking story is not only realistic, but scary! Things that actually could be happening, and we just don’t know it. I love this kind of excitement, the close knit family, the action packed suspense and the wonder of what is coming next! Lucas is quite the character!
John Mo brings all the thrills to life with a wonderful performance. It’s my first time listening to him, and I found myself completely immersed in the story with his fabulous story telling. I will be looking for more of his work.

Another great story in The O’Connell series.
This is a fast-paced, intense read with a lot of action and suspense full of surprising twists and turns.
This book has it all.
Again the O’Connell clan look out for each other.
I received an author’s copy and have left an honest review
The novella The Commitment showcases Marcus, the sheriff, and his girlfriend Charlotte, who are the guardians of little Eva, daughter of an inmate. She wants all in, to get married, but he is happy enough with the status quo. Stems from childhood abandonment issues that he has chosen not to address.
Now, onto to the mysterious Luke. We knew that he is working for a very secret black ops unit. His work is so intense that it takes him days to decompress on leave. His father disappeared when he was young and is taking the opportunity to access classified databases to look for him. Unusual information is found then mysteriously completely disappears. He has dug himself a rabbit hole that will put members of his family in harms way. There is not a total cliffhanger but enough bait to keep you ready this saga to find out what happens. I happen to very much like sets of novels based on a family because they are so interconnected that you don’t have to constantly rewrite the beginning. Lorhainne is a Queen writing about families! Well written with lots of intrigue and suspense to keep up with Luke’s missions.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
It was terribly disappointing! Wouldn’t really call it a book, simply a come-on to sell the next “book “. Authors can write a book that leaves you satisfied with having read a great story and the reader then wants to see what the author will come up with next one. But doesn’t feel almost compelled to buy the next book in order to see the end of the previous story. I read some of this author’s first books and couldn’t wait to read others, but as she goes on in her career I feel she isn’t out to tell a great story just sell the next book. Sorry. But this was a very, very disappointing experience.
In ‘The Missing Father’ we get insight into Luke’s life and job. Luke works for the government and his assignments are not going to ever be told in the media. Him and his group are off the records and are never given a choice. They follow orders. Luke also has a side project in the works trying to find his missing father who disappeared years ago. This last assignment follows Luke home and puts his family and friends in danger. There are lots of thrills and mystery and the suspense keeps you on edge. I recommend this book and look forward to the next book in the series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
We are back with the O’Connell family. A family whose life was turned upside down when 18 years ago their father disappeared. A disappearance that affected each of the siblings and has left emotional scars in all of them.
We start the book with the novella, COMMITTMENT. In which we get a chance to spend with Marcus, the sheriff of the family and a man who seems to not want to commit to marriage. In this story we not only understand Marcus better, but also get to spend time with the entire family. Leading us to MISSING FATHER.
In this one, the main character is Luke O’Connell. The mysterious one in the family. The brother that shows up every few months, and then disappears again.
Working with a black ops team he can’t reveal his missions or their locations but since he can get hold of classified information, he’s determined to find out what really happened 18 years ago that led to his father disappearing from their lives, leaving no trace or clues.
But wait, there is more. Danger and evil follows Luke and what occurs will keep you on the edge of your seat in another suspense filled story by this talented author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Luke is trying to trace where his father disappeared to years ago. He just packed a bag and walked out leaving a grieving wife and six devastated children behind. It has been gnawing at Luke for years, so now he is using every spook source available to him. He also has a job to do with his team that none of them agree with, but as soldiers they have no choice. Do what is ordered. A disappearance. An innocent man. A mission. A very close under-the-radar team. A one-night stand. A family in danger. Another winner by Ms Watson. Very highly recommended once again.
