I absolutely love Patricia Wentworth’s books!
I enjoy reading these. Miss Silver is a delight. I like her straight forward, honest manner, as well as her astuteness.
The writing is a little too trite for me. I guess I’ve grown past this older genre.
Very reminiscent of reading Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple books. Miss Silver is a brilliant, lovable lady who seems to cough a good bit. A good bit of subtle humor and very sweet romantic sidelines round out each story. The books can be read alone, but reading the set provides the characters with more depth and personality.
I love these books!
Can’t get enough of Miss Silver! She reminds me so much Ms Marple. A Quiet Wisdom that always seems to get at the truth. Love her character!

Great mysteries – easy to read and thoroughly entertaining!
I love the way Patricia Wentworth writes. Her stories take me to my happy place.
I read this series of books years ago for the first time and occasionally read them again. It is like Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple even if you know the ending you still enjoy the journey.
I enjoyed this set of books and would like to read more if the price was very low as these were. Best part was how they are clean enough for children to read and I won’t read any other type. If I start a book and it contains swearing or sex or other unpleasantness, I remove it from my device…same with fake religions like Buddhis Hinduism Islam and etc. all a bunch of lies!
well-written with good character development. Love the Miss Silver character.
