On September 11, 2020, Ginny and Katie Smith celebrate their nineteenth birthday at a country fair near Seattle. Ignoring the warnings of a fortune-teller, they enter a house of mirrors and exit in May 1964. Armed with the knowledge they need to return to their time, they try to make the most of what they believe will be a four-month vacation. But their sixties adventure becomes complicated when … when they meet a revered great-grandmother and fall in love with local boys. In THE MIRROR, the continuation of THE MINE and THE SHOW, the sisters find happiness and heartbreak as they confront unexpected challenges and gut-wrenching choices in the age of civil rights, the Beatles, and Vietnam.

I love time travel stories, but it’s not often I find time travels set in the 60’s. So I was thrilled to read The Mirror. I enjoyed this book and loved the main characters. They felt like old friends.
I have read all of John Heldt’s books and have thoroughly enjoyed them!
A really nice take away. Fun to read.
I liked the premise of the story but the characters didn’t seem realistic and the plot was too predictable.
I am a great fan of the time traveler stories and enjoyed this one so much that I’m going to go back and read the series from the beginning to enjoy it as it evolves.
Not my cup of tea. Lost interest real quick
Easy reading just right for a rainy day.
I always enjoy time travel books which usually take a person back to Medieval times. The Mirror, however, goes from the year 2020 back to 1964. I can really relate to that because I graduated from high school in 1964. The twins, Ginny and Katie were wonderful characters and I thoroughly enjoyed their interaction. The supporting characters, Nana, …
I really liked it. If it doesn’t catch my attention in a couple of pages, I won’t read it.
An enjoyable read.
Was not sure if I would let like a time travel book that went back to the 1960’s. I generally read time travel books that go in to the 1700 and 1800’s. But I loved it. Just enough imagery to put you in the time. Great read!
I loved The Mine, accidentally skipped The Show and came across this one. Lacked the charm of The Mine, this one focused too much the circumstances that led them to the past and I didn’t really like the explanation either. It focused on two sisters but it wasn’t evenly split, which is fine, but the sister that brought them to the past felt …
Absolutely love time travel romances!!!
Good addition to John Heldt’s time travel books.
Didn’t like it….too politically correct!
a good quick read as a follow up to the original story (“The Mine”)
Cute time travel story.
I barely started the book. It has not captivated me in the least. Because, I purchased it I’ll read it eventually. I only hope it does improve. But since I put it on hold I’ve read 2 two other and halfway through a 3rd.
I loved this story.
