Caderyn is the sexiest–and perhaps craziest–man Bridget has ever laid eyes on. He may have rescued her from death, but who’s going to rescue her from him? With all the right moves, the man is a walking seduction that’s too hard to resist. Sparks fly. Desires heat. But there’s one small problem. He claims they’re trapped in the lost city of Atlantes, living on a cursed island deep within the … ocean.

This was a great read. I loved the book. The plot was very well written and I cannot wait for another book. I really enjoyed the book. My new favorite author.

I’ve been reading the Dragon Lords and Var series and thought a world of Mer-folk would be an exciting change. There were things that were mentioned that I thought surely would be important to the story, but weren’t. In stories like this, world-building is important but some things may require some suspension of logic. In this case, dragging women through the depths of the ocean and the pressure not crushing them was not really explained…so, suspension of logic. We find that this kingdom of people cursed by Poisiden have lived for centuries and are curious about all things human. They have no technology (but somehow made a sex doll “nymph” that can do everything but think for itself) but they are able to do a few things that caused me to question how they were able to do this without tech or some other explanation. My hope is this will be explained in other books. I was interested in learning more about the Olympians too, but the book read as though there would be more run-ins in future books.
I was really bothered by the first joining of the main characters. It didn’t sit well with me that it was so close to rape. Bridgett was delirious after Caderyn helped save her life. He knew she wasn’t in her right mind but couldn’t stop himself?? And she didn’t have a problem with how it transpired, though she’s willing to run or be vocal about everything else? I also thought there was waaayyyyy tooo much sex. I like M.Pillow’s writing and knack for telling a good story quickly. This story, I just wasn’t totally sold, but I thought the story had a good premise. I am willing to try the next in this series, but only because of the many others I’ve read from this author. If this were my first read, I probably wouldn’t continue. 2.5 stars

This book was highly entertaining and a quick read. The hero, Caderyn, is a Merman hunter. While hunting a Scylla, he sees Bridget on a boat. The Scylla tears apart the boat and all of the crew is left for a watery death. Caderyn saves Bridget. When she wakes, Bridget finds herself in an unbelievable place and finds that one other woman was also rescued.
I always find that I immediately like the hero of this author but the woman takes some time. She goes through a long period of denial and puts the poor hero through hell.
All in all, it was a good story with a twist on the myth of Atlantis. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

Bridget is a scientist out on a ship with other scientists collecting samples when they find debris and a man in the ocean, a man dressed in clothing from another era. They are attacked and Bridget sees something unusual floating by and before they know it something terrifying happens and Bridget and the others are in the water and she is barely breathing when she sees a man a strange man who looks like he is simmering and instead of dying her whole life changes. Danger, drama, suspense, love. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoy most of the books that this author writes. I started out with her dragon series and then found this one and ended up liking it just as much. It’s a good series and I recommend it
I read this story many years ago and enjoyed it so was curious to see if it was as enjoyable second time around. Perhaps not quite as good as I remembered but this tale about the Mer people and the undersea world of Atlantes was still enjoyable. Scientist Bridget Dutton’s boat is attacked from underneath while she is carrying out ocean readings when she comes to she finds she has been rescued by merman Caderyn the Hunter and they are in the Abyss on the island of Atlantes. Can Caderyn convince Bridget that a life with him is what she really wants. Passion flares together with danger.

I loved this book by Michelle M. Pillow. Caderyn is great throughout the book. I love how he protected Bridget even after she hurt him. I love how he did not give up on her and their love. I love how her love for Caderyn helped protect her from the Olympians and their shenanigans. I could not put this book down. I stayed up way to late reading it. I love how the Merr protected women during shipwrecks. I love Michelle’s imagination and how she took myths in a different direction. I definitely recommend this book to others who like a happy ending. I love how scientific Bridget was but that she also understood her emotions.

New idea on an old legend. Lots of drama, conflict, and sacrifice. My least favorite heroine that has been penned by M. Pillow but, still shows character growth and other redeeming traits.
loved it !!! couldn’t put it down !!! love Caderyn !!! merman !!! Bridgett not so much !!! twist on the Atlantis city…

Really enjoyed this sweetly sexy, action packed and emotionally thrilling adventure filled with exciting charters, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. Was a great read from beginning to end.
Bridget is out on the ocean as part of a research trip when an unknown giant sea creature attacks their ship. Rescued by a mysterious man, she awakens to be told she is in the underwater city of Atlantis. Caderyn is a Hunter of Atlantis and a merman. Bridget is eventually filled in on everything and she and Caderyn begin a relationship in fits and starts. I really enjoyed the storyline and the setting and I loved Caderyn, but it was hard to feel much sympathy for Bridget when she repeatedly behaved badly and unappreciatively. There was so much to love about this book so it’s probably best to break it down in Iris speech since what I look for in a book my not be everyone else’s cup of tea. First and foremost, I love a strong heroine. The fact that The fact that Bridget, is grateful that Caderyn saved her but still insists on a level of autonomy and independence was huge for me. Granted her thought process went 0 to 60 in the blink of an eye and was often difficult to understand why she couldn’t just ask Caderyn or Aidan when her mind had her going into panic mode is beyond me. But then I didn’t almost drown and wake up in Atlantis surrounded by Merr folk. Secondly, I’m all for insta-love stories. I believe they have a time and place. But I loved the fact that this was steeped in a sort of realism in that aspect. Bridget didn’t fall instantly in love with her savior. In lust… yes. In love… not so much. She made him work for it.
There wasn’t a thing I did not enjoy about The Mighty Hunter. That for me says a lot since I always find something to break up the monotony of fantasy perfection. I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
So, the story was written well and was interesting, but the female lead was kinda annoying to me.The make lead was okay. The storyline had some suspense and drama, making this an okay read for me.

Caderyn was a Merr and he and two others were out on a hunt for dangerous scylla. Bridget was a scientist on a ship with several other scientists studying and exploring the mysteries of the ocean when a monster attacked the ship and everyone fell overboard. Caderyn and Bridget had briefly caught each other’s eyes before the ship went down and when Caderyn saw her drowning he immediately went to her. When Caderyn and Bridget touched this began their awkward but exciting and interesting romance as they fought their attraction for each other facing danger, risking other mates, deceptions, and discovering changes. Fun read

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review, so here are my thoughts: I was initially a bit sceptical as, despite i didn’t mind reading other shifters books, i was not too fond of the idea of a merman. I was very wrong. I loved the MC, he was sweet, innocent but also strong and mighty. The FC is feisty but has a sensitive side to her and she is perfect for him. they are perfect for each other. The passion builds up pretty soon and it gets really steamy. I like how Michelle predicts possible questions from a reader’s point of view about the logistics of it all and answers them all without leaving any doubts. I loved every part of this book and i think the story is very original. I will definitely read the other books in the series

This is a fun Merr tale. After being thrown from her research vessel, Bridget is taken to Atlantes. Caderyn, her rescuer, hopes she survives her trip down through the ocean depths. Maybe hoping for more. I loved the heat, adventure, and worldbuilding in this story.
Definitely has me wishing for a mermsn of my own. A fun beginning to this series.
This is one sexy merman adventure that will keep you on engaged all the way through. There are lots to discover in this under water world with plenty of hot steamy scenes.

When the ship Bridget was on sank she was rescued by Caderyn, a merman. Caderyn toke her back to his underwater home. A dome that held it’s own magic.
When Bridget is told where she is and what happened, she can not seem to believe that this has really happened to her. One thing is certain though, that is her attraction to Caderyn. The story is about Bridget discovering this new world she was thrust into and the feelings she has for Caderyn.
I really enjoyed this story. It kept me entertained and interested the whole way through.

Book one of the Lords of the Abyss series a well written story with a very good storyline. I enjoyed reading merman Caderyn and human Bridget’s story. I especially found myself laughing at the end, in my minds eye I could just picture what happened. Well worth reading, and I want to read the next book in this series.
