Caderyn is the sexiest–and perhaps craziest–man Bridget has ever laid eyes on. He may have rescued her from death, but who’s going to rescue her from him? With all the right moves, the man is a walking seduction that’s too hard to resist. Sparks fly. Desires heat. But there’s one small problem. He claims they’re trapped in the lost city of Atlantes, living on a cursed island deep within the … ocean.

Such a fun book! Definitely worth a read…
Loved this twist on mermaids/mermen! Fun to read with just enough steamy scenes. Another great series from Michelle Pillow!
So much free fun! Part of My Paranormal Valentine collection for a limited time!
Great book by an awesome author!
What a fun, great read! Didn’t want to put this one down, and didn’t! I will definitely be picking up the next one in the series!

Ha! Love it!
Underwater fantasy. Gotta love Merfolk and spicy scenes. When an underwater sea monster destroys a boat, the mermen hunt that monster. Only these hunters do not expect saving the women as their treasures. Taken an alternate version on the myth of Atlantis, the author weaves a glorious story about a deep sea scientist and her love of the sea going paranormal. Love Bridget and Caderyn’s story.
Delightful Book!
Bridget is a researcher on a ship off the coast of Florida. She has loved the sea since she was a child! Their boat gets attacked by a sea monster and torn to shreds. She is rescued by a Merman and taken to their underwater city of Ataran. Caderyn takes Bridget to their healer to help her recover from her near drowning. When she wakes up Caderyn is given guardianship of her, since he rescued her. It is his duty to see to her needs and safety until she decides who she wants to marry. Being a scientist, Bridget has a little trouble believing all of this is real. She is constantly questioning everything and everyone. Caderyn may have been a little vague on what his responsibility is with her. She loses her temper one night in the dining hall and they accidentally become married! This is a wonderful tale of Caderyn and Bridgets journey through her acceptance of her new reality. There is lots of humor and twists and turns. A must read!

The Mighty Hunter is the first book in the Lords of the Abyss series by Michelle Pillow.
ARC kindly provided by Michelle for an honest review.
The story line was unique and very different. This was actually my first novel with an Atlantis/mermaid tale. Michelle definitely has me hooked on this series already. It was fascinating how the storyline was very distinctive.
Bridget Dutton is a scientist that is currently on a voyage to study more about what is in the ocean. She has always been interested in the ocean and what is in it. Her ultimate dream is to study the deep ocean. Caderyn is a hunter for the Merr. He hunts dangerous sea creatures called the Scylla. He lives in a dome in the sea because of the cursed made by Poseidon. The curse is that they live an immortal life yet they cannot be on the surface or find someone to spend their eternal life with.
While out hunting, Caderyn rescues Bridget from drowning by bringing her to the Abyss where Bridget learns so many things that are just so unbelievable that she had the hardest time believing if everything is simply a tale or the truth.
The chemistry between Bridget and Caderyn was a slow burn considering that it was a very different type of relationship they are having. I liked that it wasn’t fast or seemed forced. I think that it flowed nicely throughout. It was very well-paced.
I cannot wait to read the second book in the series. Michelle, you were phenomenal. You didn’t disappoint with this extremely unique novel.
The Mighty Hunter This is a creative, interesting and unusual take on Atlantis. Michelle does an amazing descriptive job and I found it was easy to picture all aspects of this new culture and new world. Just a heads up (pun accidentally intended) the sexual content is quite graphic. But not nasty… if that makes sense.
The main character is this were frustratingly relatable! Coming from two different worlds leads to some interesting communication issues 😉
One important fact, which is extremely hard to do now a days, it is very different from any other book I have read.
A fantastic addition to the My Paranormal Valentine anthology.
I picked up this first book of Michelle M. Pillow’s “Lords of the Abyss” series when it was on sale and quickly purchased the other five books in the series! ‘The Mighty Hunter’ introduces you to the rich, vibrant world Pillow has created and some of the interesting characters in it.
The smokin’ hot guys? They are mermen, cursed by Poseidon and living under the sea in their own dome, forever wandering, forever alone and mateless…unless they happen to rescue a woman from the sea (someone who was doomed anyway) and she survives the trip to the sea floor. Then she has her choice of men, who compete for her affections, as women are very scarce and thus treasured.
I love the hot sexy men, who are passionate alphas in a lot of ways, but who are also lonely and longing for a mate deep down. But I also love the feisty, real-world heroines, who are just as passionate and are not always thrilled to have been saved and permanently relocated.
You’re going to want to set aside some reading time, because after you consume ‘The Mighty Hunter’, you’ll want to grab the rest of the series and keep reading.
Enjoy!
I really enjoy Michelle Pillows books
My previous review has somehow escaped & is now lost in cyberspace So that being said, pulling this one out of my butt or brain as the case maybe. Not my favorite of her series, but that’s ok cause was still readable. It started off really well then lost me with the drop in the action & character angst (I have ADD & tend to get bored easily) So it ebbed & flowed which I guess to others is how stories are supposed to happen….with ebbing & flowing I tend to “himmm & haww” either to the slowing down of the story being too slow for me or too cheesy or again to slow. But Great news!! Was able to pick it right back up & have another action scene . & boy it was a doozy! Didn’t see that coming. Or maybe I should’ve but I’m not one to attempt to figure authors or their evil ways of plotting to blow the minds of their readers…. Too much work & id rather be reading or sleeping… Recommend! HAPPY READING!!

Caderyn, a merman hunter from Atlantis, pulls Bridget, a marine biologist, to safety when a sea monster attacks her ship. Loved the characters and the mythology aspects the author threw into the mix. The storyline was terrific, with plenty of action, drama and heated romance. Bridget and Caderyn make a great pair, with intense emotions and feelings. Plan to read more books by this author soon.

I absolutely love this captivating book with exceptional characters in a world that is so realistic it felt like I was on the journey with them. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author that knows how to captivate the attention of their readers.
I loved the story; however, I didn’t really care for Bridget. For a scientist, she didn’t think like one but instead acted like a spoiled child who didn’t get her way most of the time. I would have preferred her to be a little more scientific in her approach to what happened. I actually felt bad for Caderyn for having to deal with her. Even so, I liked the plot of the story and will read more in this series.

I enjoyed Caderyn and Bridget’s story despite finding Bridget’s personality annoying, which just goes to show what a good writer Michelle is. They met when merman Caderyn, a member of a hunter team, saved her, from a Scylla water spirit, who destroyed the boat she was working on as a marine biologist. Having saved her he wants to take her as his mate as she makes him happy. Will he be able to convince her to stay with him?
I love the detail this author gives us along with the background and history of the underwater dome and how they manage t add more women into their world by rescuing them from certain death at sea.
It’s a lot for Bridget to accept, will she accept the future he’s offering her with him in his undersea world?
This is another great read by this author, it’s well written and has a a wonderful storyline and characters. There is action, steamy scenes and a happily ever after ending.
When the research ship Bridgets is on she is saved by Caderyn, a Merr, and another woman on the ship Cassandra is saved by his fellow hunter Iason. Althea is a healer in the palace so they take the females to have their injuries healed and on waking Cassandra is very ill and so it doesn’t get passed to Bridget, Caderyn takes her to his home to rest. Caderyn doesn’t understand why but he can’t keep her out of his mind and is very possessive and protective of her. When he was saving her from being drowned Bridget felt as if a bond was forming when he breathed air into her mouth to stop her dying. Bridget would be all for acting on it but the man is crazy, he thinks they are living on an island at the bottom of the ocean, well that’s impossible, isn’t it?
