#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Lee Child returns with a gripping new powerhouse thriller featuring Jack Reacher, “one of this century’s most original, tantalizing pop-fiction heroes” (The Washington Post).BONUS: Includes a sneak peek of Lee Child’s new novel, Past Tense. Reacher takes a stroll through a small Wisconsin town and sees a class ring in a pawn shop window: West Point 2005. A tough … ring in a pawn shop window: West Point 2005. A tough year to graduate: Iraq, then Afghanistan. The ring is tiny, for a woman, and it has her initials engraved on the inside. Reacher wonders what unlucky circumstance made her give up something she earned over four hard years. He decides to find out. And find the woman. And return her ring. Why not?
So begins a harrowing journey that takes Reacher through the upper Midwest, from a lowlife bar on the sad side of small town to a dirt-blown crossroads in the middle of nowhere, encountering bikers, cops, crooks, muscle, and a missing persons PI who wears a suit and a tie in the Wyoming wilderness.
The deeper Reacher digs, and the more he learns, the more dangerous the terrain becomes. Turns out the ring was just a small link in a far darker chain. Powerful forces are guarding a vast criminal enterprise. Some lines should never be crossed. But then, neither should Reacher.

Another good read from Lee Child. The plot accelerates nicely. Even if you are a slow reader, as an I. You’ll find yourself racing from page to page.
Always a favorite read, easy fast moving novel. Great summer read.
How does Lee Child do it? Mixes contemporary issues with compelling characters, one of the best heroes ever, and seriously prolific!
Lee Child offers enlightening glimpses into our country’s opioid epidemic, through the eyes of military veterans. Reacher seems less aloof, more human in this novel.
Engrossing
LOVE the Jack Reacher series, and this one did not disappoint! Very hard to put down. Very realistic character’s. Jack’s wit is so entertaining and sometimes comical. He always prepares for the worst and wins – no matter the odds. Very good plot addressing our veterans return to the USA after being wounded and the drug problems our country is battling. Can’t wait for the next book!!
Reading it now. Truly cannot put it down. The story goes from zero to 80 mph on the first page!! Lee Child never disappoints!!
Tt’s Jack Reacher which says it all.
Not just another great Jack Reacher novel but also timely and relevant in displaying up close and personal the insidious opioid crisis.
Superb. In my top 5 Jack Reacher books.

I never miss a Jack Reacher book. Have read them all.
AS MOST REACHER BOOKS , HE COMES INTO TOWN AND SOMETHING HAPPENS TO PEAK HIS INTERST. THE ACTION TO DISCOVER THE PROBLEM AND THEN TO SOLVE THE PROBEM. jUST LOVE THE WAY CHILD WRITES
typical jack reacher but always fun
As always a Lee Child book is great.
I LOVE Lee Child’s books. I felt this one was his best of the last few years. Very topical with his usual dry wit. It felt more personal than some Jack Reacher books but with a lot of twists I didn’t see coming.
Great!
Lee Child at his best
Very good Lee Child as always.
Great Book
