Reviews
“The first of what looks to be a delightful five-book time travel series,
[The Mesmerist] is quick, light and enchanting! — Romantic Times Magazine
“Combines the best of time travel with superb romantic elements with enchanting results. Intrigue, danger, and a magic hope chest bring together two strong willed, volatile characters with delightful results. This whimsical tale is one of the most convincing time travel romances I’ve yet to encounter, coming very highly recommended.” —Cindy Penn, Senior Editor, WordWeaving
“Hits you with action from the beginning and has you anxious to know how it will all end. The storyline is humorous at times, sensual and uplifting.” — Denise Fleischer, Gotta Write Online Romance Editor
“This series promises to be a lot of fun. The mystery surrounding Miss Sparrow and her hope chest are yet to be discovered. Ms. McCutcheon’s characters are compelling, both the hero and heroine dealing with their personal pain in constructive ways. Drake is a deeply kind, caring, and honest man, just what Gina needs. He has a great desire to help others. Gina’s confidence and insight provide what Drake needs to attract patients and discover the source of their problems. They make a great team. Together they sizzle with passion.” — ParaNormalRomance/PNR
“Pam McCutcheon certainly starts us out with a lively beginning that pulls you right into this delightful story… It was a roller coaster of laughs and tears and I hated to put it down; I couldn’t wait to see how it all turned out. If the other books in this series are as good as this one, then we are in for a wonderful extended read.” — Becci Davis Clayton, About.com

Truly different and I learned some things about mesmerists.
An enjoyable afternoon’s read. This is a sweet, sometimes silly, entertaining romance.
The storyline was interesting and had just enough twists and turns to keep me guessing “what next”?
Good book with a little bit of everything I like, romance, adventure, etc.
Thoroughly enjoy this book. The time travel, twist & turns. Danger intrigue. How romance builds with Gina & the ghostly mesmerist, Drake Manton. Who died in a fire.
Gina gets transported into the past where she meets Drake Manton in person. She now has to secretly protect him & find out who set him up to be in the hotel fire to die.
Gina does realize that she is falling for the man.
Drake Manton a mesmerist finds Gina very interesting & different from all the woman at the ton. He wants to prove his method’s on mesmerist can help clients. Not a gimmick. That is where Gina as his assistant helps him.
With 21st century tactics. Drake wants to know what Gina is hiding. But when she tells him the truth, he refused to believe her. Even after showing his obituary in the paper.
Can love out beat danger & the death of Drake. Will he allow Gina to leave & go back to her century or will he admit he is in love with Gina & have her stay in his time.
Can Gina safe Drake & have him believe she is from the future. Before he dies to protect a woman who is being abused by her husband.
Great plot, love the twists & turns & the growing love for the two characters
I absolutely loved this book!!! Couldn’t put it down.
As a time travel book, this is totally different and enjoyable to read. The main characters are trying to solve a mystery and end up getting to the truth and finding that they met their soul mate through time. A great read. I highly recommend this book.
Fun story and concept
Fun to read
I did not finish it because it did not hold my interest
Did not love it.
Fun to learn the history of Mesmerism- never realized it was the precursor to psychoanalysis. A bit too typical romance for me though.
I did not like it.
Nice plot twists.
I stop reading it.
I just couldn’t get into this!
I couldn’t muster enough sympathy for the characters and found myself skimming the book; I thought the revelation of the shooter at the end was too obvious; the lapses in chaperoning were inane, especially the whole bath house scene. The author created the six month plot requirement with time slips only happening on the solstice. I doubt a tightened storyline from solstice to equinox or moon phases would pique my interest enough.
Heroine was kind of annoying. Characters not too well developed. Story interesting. Entertaining.
Fun reading as one gets to know the characters and plot!
Could not put it down
