Good read. Nameless helps the downtrodden win for a change.

This is the fifth installment in the Nameless series where several suspicious deaths in a retirement home make Nameless search for the serial killer. This was another entertaining episode. I wonder how much Dean Koontz will tell us in the last book about Nameless and his background because until this book we only got slight flashbacks that did not say much. I liked the idea of this book and how mercy killings were used for the elderly residents so that the greedy relatives of those residents would inherit their wealth! The characters in this story were interesting too. Overall, this was quite good.
As these stories are going along, I’m liking them less. I enjoyed it more when the “monsters” were killed in the same way they did the killing and there were intricate things setup to accomplish this. Now it seems the bad people are killing the bad people. One left in the series. I’ll see how that goes.
What can I say– another great book in the series.
Loved the whole series.
Dean Koontz is one of my favorite writers. His nameless series are shorter than his normal books but are like a delightful snack I can read in one setting. Hope the series continues
Now this was an interesting and fun read, and the ending was much more satisfying than the previous two installments.
I read this in the correct order but forgot to leave review. What can I say, Mr Koontz just keeps this short story series filled with thrills and chills. Bad guys watch out, Ace and Nameless are coming for you with crazy twist and turns. The crumbs of who Nameless really is are beginning to leech through his memory; whether that’s good or bad will have to wait.

Nameless is sent to a small town that boasts a beautiful retirement facility. Here, those who can afford it are promised gracious-living as well as an active lifestyle. However, it has been noted that some healthy tenants are subjected to a shorter than intended stay.
Justice is served.
Some sexual content
No memorable harsh language
Violence
( I’m copying and pasting this same review for all 6 of the series of Nameless) I have been a fan of Mr. Koontz FOREVER!!! He is a master story-teller and one that can hold your attention whether it’s for a ‘short story’ or a full length novel. This first short story in the series of Nameless: In the Heart of Fire was indeed up to par with the usual Koontz suspense and intrigue.
I’m glad I was able to have the next 5 (Photographing the Dead; The Praying Mantis Bride; Red Rain; The Mercy of Snakes ; and Memories of Tomorrow (my favorite) waiting in line to continue the saga of Nameless and his ‘justice’ he served in each one. I can see Nameless becoming a full length novel or if he wanted to keep them short stories, to continue into the next 6 books. 🙂 All in all, they are something that is easy to read, quick to read, and a joy to read.
I’ve enjoyed this series so far and though this one was good, it wasn’t my favorite. It’s set in a near by city so that made this one quiet interesting for me lol. Great series. Definitely recommend and look forward to the next and final short story in this series.
Watch out for Nameless bad guys he will make you pay. Plenty of twist and turns.
