From Ninie Hammon, the sorceress of psychological suspense comes The Memory Closet, an amnesiac nightmare that will keep you reading through the night with the all lights on.
Each memory could be her last…
When Anne Mitchell was 11, a horrific accident took the life of her little sister—and every one of Anne’s childhood memories went with her. For 25 years, people have told her that losing … years, people have told her that losing memories is normal. Trauma will do that to a young girl.
But Anne knows it is a lie.
Dark, fractured memories lurk in the shadows of her mind like monsters. They glide past her mirror in the morning and dance in the reflection of her wine glass at night.
Anne has had enough. She is going home to face her demons.
But in a small town and a small house infected by unspeakable evil, Anne is about to learn that some memories don’t give up their secrets so easily. Some memories can’t be bargained with or cajoled or brought to heel. Some memories will drive you to the edge of sanity.
Some memories will kill you.
Fans of Dean Koontz and Stephen King looking for a dark, gripping psychological thriller, with a final twist that will put their jaw on the floor, will love The Memory Closet.

A new author to me but I have already read another of her books. She has a wonderful way of making you feel a part of the story, loving or hating a character, and to not let you truly know which way you are going until the very end. Amazing!
This book shows the way our memories and things we have been told can be not what they seem. Haunting storyline as the main character tries to find out the truth.
Didn’t like it at all, so I didn’t finish it.
Good plot- moved along well. Not able to predict what would happen next. Great character development
This book started out kind of slow, and dragged at times. I almost stopped reading when a whole chapter was devoted to spiders, but I was over half way done with the book and wanted to see how it ended. I loved the character Bobo….. Overall, the book was okay, but I think it could have been shortened a bit.
A haunting tale.
One of the best books I’ve read. The story is heart-wrenching and the author really makes you feel the pain of the characters. Definitely worth your time!
Since I don’t feel like a have a great memory or recall,, I thought the story line was interesting, loosing all recall of growing up and trying to remember. It made me sit back and think about the past.
Interesting characters, amnesia leaves the whole field open!
Ninnie Hammon’s writing style and skill will pull the reader in to experience every emotion felt by the narrator – from curiosity to compassion through to the ultimate horror of self realisation, with the haunting knowledge that this could be so real.
Darker than my usual reads but this book had me so hooked I was more desperate than Anne to discover what happened to her little sister. Well written. I loved the character Bobo. Although quite bonkers at times she was believable and likeable. The twists at the end of the book are well worth the wait.
Recommend.
A story line that was fresh, good character development, hard to put down!
Easy read. Good story line.
A touchy subject matter , but a good book no less .
This book is in the psychological suspense sector, a type that I dip into from time to time. Be aware that this story involves child abuse, and is very graphic and disturbing. I can only hope the story does not stick in my memory for long, as it was quite uncomfortable in places. The writing was good; the buildup was slow and then erupted quickly …
Too tough to get through… got 26% through it and just could not continue. I had hoped it would be better, but it dragged and was not succinct enough for me.
Completely engrossing!
Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I read it all in one day.
The Memory Closet by Ninie Hammon is a psychological thriller. Dark secrets lost for 25 years uncover unspeakable evil. This book is haunting as it uncovers abuse, mental illness and murder. A chilling, absorbing read.
This was a fantastic story. I expected to find all kinds of paranormal monsters and creatures in it but it was very realistic – frighteningly so. It deals with some very serious issues and the consequences they leave in people’s psyches, but is well worth reading. I was dying to know what had happened in Anne’s past to make her the way she was and …
