I absolutely loved this book!
It’s what so many people live on a daily basis, the fear of the stigma, the eye rolls, the total lack of understanding. The feeling that you can’t tell someone who the real you is because they’d probably run rather than deal with the issues you yourself don’t want to deal with.
This book didn’t feel like fiction at all and that’s what an amazing author can do, pull you into a story and make you feel like your just reading someone’s journal about their struggles through life and figuring out how to fix themselves.
Thank you Christopher for another amazing, realistic and heartfelt book! I’ll definitely recommend this book to everyone!
This story takes you through the journey of a young woman dealing with anxiety and depression while navigating through her life. She’s become an expert at wearing the mask that she wants everyone to believe is her. As the pages keep turning you see the cracks in her facade, the self-destruction not just mentally, but emotionally and physically as well. The choices she made in the moment were detrimental to her well being, she knew this and made them anyway, until she takes back control after a chance meeting that changes her path.
Brandon is the flip side to Talia’s coin. He’s well aware of the effects of depression, up close and personal. As much as they are drawn to each other, theirs is a relationship that has been built on half truths. What will happen when those half truths are revealed? This isn’t the normal happily ever after, it’s raw and it’s real and it’s more common than most think. Definitely a must read.
