Could the best man be her best option? The last person Meredith Turner expects to see at her best friend’s wedding rehearsal dinner is the guy she had a one night stand with. What’s worse, Lincoln Forrest is the best man and as maid of honor, her partner. To add insult to injury, she has to leave the rehearsal dinner early, and Lincoln is the one to help her with a deeply personal problem. The … personal problem. The aftermath of that night brings big changes for them both.
Lincoln Forrest has helped his best friend meet the woman of his dreams, but recently he’s made a series of bad decisions, the biggest being leaving his career with the Army. Now the former K-9 handler is looking for a new career and trying to get his life back on track. Helping Meredith in her time of need connects her to him more than he expected. On a mission to right the wrong he created, Linc will do whatever is needed. But when the attraction that first drew them together flares to life again, will the obstacles between them be too much to overcome? Or has the matchmaker met his match?

A nice escape.
Linc and Meredith’s story was good. Loved their story.
I wouldn’t buy it again, but It was an OK way to spend 3 hours while “social distancing”.
Too predictable and a bit preachy.
I hated her through this entire story. He deserved way better. If that’s the way she loves? Yikes. I just could get myself to like her.
I liked the storyline and the characters but I had a couple problems with this book. The first was multiple grammar and punctuation issues which I found distracting. Normally I would quit reading, but I was enjoying the story enough to overlook it. Until the “conflict” near the end. It ruined the book. I was so annoyed I skipped over it. It really bothers me when the the author makes no effort with this required component of a romance novel. A silly misunderstanding does not make a good conflict.
This was a very nice love story. It does require accepting 2 improbable events, but that was ok.
I very much enjoyed “The Matchmaker’s Match” (nook). The love story was sentimental and heart warming. The book was light reading and I finished in one sitting. I look forward to reading more of Nicole Flockton’s stories.
I felt this book held promise in the beginning as the two main characters met again after a one night stand at their best friends wedding. Unfortunately, i think what the author intended as self reflective moments in Meredith came across to me as whining and martyred. I made it midway through before I just had to stop reading. I get that life can be harsh and people can live through tragic events that have far reaching effects. I have lived through my own, and have read books that beautifully describe just how trials can affect and change people both positively and negatively. Too bad I found myself telling Meredith to suck it up butter cup! If you can stick with it, I hear she gets her HEA.
I love these books!
Take one best man, Linc and one maid of honor, Meredith returning from a year in Guatemala (And freshly dumped by her cheating ex) add in a one night stand and you have one fantastic book. Oh did I mention that Lincoln Forrest was the best friend who challenged his friend Ethan to a blind date in The Blind Date Bet? That’s why this book was so good because well now it’s his turn to find a forever after love.
Meredith Turner wants to start over after a year in Central America and maybe an overnight in LA and one handsome guy who gave her sparks can be her one night stand. What she doesn’t expect is to meet him again at her BFF’s rehearsal dinner. Or that she’ll be sick and Lincoln will volunteer to be there for her at the ER. She’s determined to have a baby without the guy but when Linc volunteers will she accept? Is there more than sparks between them than just one night?
Lincoln Forrest thought the job offer would be a start to a new career after leaving the Army but it turns out to be a sham and he’s looking for a new job hopefully working with a K-9 Unit again. Little does he know that a little dog at the rescue center will be the same one that Meredith loves also. A new job offer, a cute little dog and maybe Meredith could be the start of all of the HEA?
I hope there are more books in this series because each one is a stand alone but can be read in order and who knew a dog could be a matchmaker?
I enjoyed this story very much.
What happens when a one night stand brings you face to face with the one you expected to never see again? Well the first thing is surprise, obviously. Then there is awkwardness, of course. See the thing is, while Meredith and Lincoln weren’t looking for anything beyond their one night, neither has forgotten the other. But then something awful happens to Meredith and Lincoln finds himself by her side. There wasn’t anywhere else he’d rather be.
Once Lincoln realizes that he could be happy with Meredith, it’s all hands on deck trying to convince her. Of course they both have obstacles to get through. But all was worth it in the end. I truly adored this book, the premise and talented writing went together nicely to entertain and endear me at the same time. This was actually book three in a series and I haven’t read the others. But I would definitely like to. The author brings characters from the previous books to pique our interest. That said, I definitely recommend this book.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
This is the third book in the Man’s best friend’s series (yes look at the cover to see why) and each one can be read as a stand alone but who would want to when they read so well together as a set. In this book we get to see the Matchmaker get his just desserts so to speak. Linc or Lincoln Forrest comes back home to be in the wedding for one of his ” matchmaking” and on the way he has a one night stand. Meredith Turner is the maid of honor and best friend of the bride. She never seems to be able to have a relationship that works so while out of town she decides, while drinking to go for it with the hottie at the bar…. You can see where this is heading. This is a military/romance of the best read. We get to catch up with all our favorite friends from the past books or if you have not met them you get to know them in this book.
The Matchmaker’s Match
(Man’s Best Friend Book 3)
Written by Nicole Flockton
4 out of 5 Stars
This is my second or third book I’ve read by this author and I’ve honestly enjoyed every exposure to Nicole’s writing as much as the last. The four legged companions in these stories really do make the books!
The Matchmaker’s Match was a fast paced, relatively short read that had my attention from start to finish. Admittedly, I do have a soft spot for stories about one night stands that don’t quite go as expected. This book was a great escape from the day to day grind.
The books in this series can be read as stand alone stories but they really are great stories, you’ll probably find yourself devouring all three pretty close together! I’m looking forward to more to come from Nicole Flockton!
The Matchmaker’s Match (Man’s Best Friend Book 3) by Nicole Flockton
5-Stars
The Matchmaker’s Match by Nicole Flockton is the third book in its series, Man’s Best Friend. It can be read as a standalone novel but features characters from the first two novels. It is a very creative and fun novel. I loved the main characters Linc and Mere. They were entertaining and easy to fall in love with. The author did an amazing job in developing their characters in this story and also did a magnificent job on the supporting characters. I also really enjoyed the various settings and interesting events that occur with the story. This was an excellent read and I highly recommend this book as well as the series.
Flockton has become my most favorite surprise author this year! Her books are super cute, super sexy and so funny! This book is easy to read, even being the third in the series. There are small references to the couples in the other books so you definitely want to add them to your list to read.
The Match Maker’s Match is about Linc and Meredith. They have the same friends but haven’t met each other…yet. When they do meet, it is under such special circumstances that you can’t help but cheer for them both.
The fact that Flockton includes dogs and vets in her stories make them unique and fun to read!
This is a lovely story about how love can find you when you least expect it.
It follows the story of Meredith and Linc, who meet in a bar and end up throwing caution to the wind and enjoying each others company for the evening. Thinking they would never see each other again but how wrong they were.
Fast forward and they go through a wedding and a up and down rollercoaster while they come to terms with their feelings for each other.
The Matchmaker’s Match was a great 5 star read and book three in the Man’s Best Friend series.
We get pulled in right from the beginning with Meredith meeting a man in a bar at the hotel she was staying at. She ends up having a hot and steamy one night stand…We jump ahead one month and Meredith is getting ready for her best friend’s wedding.
When she meets the best man she is shocked to see her one night stand, Linc. Lincoln is equally as shocked to see Meredith at the rehearsal dinner. When Meredith ends up very sick, Linc helps her by taking her to the hospital where they get some shocking news. Lincoln was great, trying to help Meredith.
Can a one night stand turn into an unexpected HEA? Will Meredith get what she’s always wanted?
These two connect on so many levels, you could feel their chemistry coming off the pages. I had some LOL moments at the bantering and we get some steaminess as well. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it can be read as a stand alone. I have plans to go back and read the others in the series and I look forward to reading more from Nicole. 1-click and get started today.
I give The Matchmaker’s Match (Man’s Best Friend Book 3) by Nicole Flockton, 4 stars.
Meredith just got out a bad relationship. She decided she doesn’t need a man in her life. However, she sees a sexy man during her layover and decides to go for it. One night stands are not her thing, but it could help get over her ex. Never in a million years would she guess that same man she met in another state would be best man at her best friend’s wedding. And somehow she keeps running into him. Just when she has her life figured out, the powers that be seem to work against her. Is he what she really needs or just another wrench in her plan? And what does he want?
This is a great addition to the series. To be honest, Meredith annoyed me in the beginning of the book. But that is the point and she grows exponentially throughout the book. Lincoln has been a bachelor for so long and has no interest in having kids, but he startd to see things differently when he meets her. He changes in his own way too. The story of the two of them is quite interesting and very realistic. Throw in the dogs, and it gets even better!!
This is a contemporary romance revolving around therapy dogs and I highly recommend it.
The Matchmaker’s Match (Man’s Best Friend Book 3) by Nicole Flockton
5 stars
Another great story from this series. These may be very quick reads, but what a punch they pack! You get alot of need to know information along with the story and none of the extra fluff, so its a very fast read.
Meredith is best friends with Isabelle, from book 1. You don’t need to read that one to read this one, but you’ll want to,to get her story. Meredith is starting her plans in motion after life hit her hard. She doesn’t expect to see someone from a month ago, or anything that happens after.
I really loved this book, it was different but also sweet and funny. Highly recommend
The Matchmaker’s Match is the third book in Nicole Flockton’s Man’s Best Friend series where the matchmaker meets his own match after a one night stand and a string of bad decisions … who knew that this one night stand will become a turning point that will have an impact on the rest of his life? You can read this story as a standalone but be not surprised if you find yourself reaching for Ethan’s story at the minimum!
Our matchmaker is Lincoln Forest who helped his best friend Ethan to meet the woman of his dreams and who also manages to have a one night stand with the said woman’s best friend Meredith! Can you imagine coming face to face with your one night stand at the rehearsal dinner and you can imagine how both of them are beyond socked! Throw into the mix Meredith’s health scare, four legged cuties, misreading of situations and you get yourself a beautiful story that makes you feel warm and fuzzy and you will find yourself finishing the story in one sitting!
