Having worked for Southern Service Paws for a few years now, I like to think I’m prepared for just about any client meeting under the sun. I am dead wrong. The day I meet with single dad, Jacob Broaden, about potentially matching his daughter with one of our service dogs, I learn a few valuable lessons. 1) Always set my alarm clock. 2) Single dads are way hotter than I previously thought. 3) It … previously thought.
3) It is possible to go from fantasizing about kissing someone to wishing they would be run over by a truck in a matter of two minutes.
Unfortunately, I don’t hold that opinion of him for very long. Not when he shows me a different side of himself—one that’s sweet as maple syrup and hot as apple pie fresh out of the oven.
Too bad this guy is so far out of my league that I shouldn’t even be allowed to enter the game. Jake doesn’t seem to get that memo though. And after a few days of working closely with him and his daughter, he starts looking at me with fire in his eyes, making me dream of something I probably shouldn’t…
A family.
The Match is a feel-good romantic comedy! Perfect for readers who enjoy a sizzling romance without explicit content.

Loved this story. Sarah Adams has written not only a sweet romance but also a wonderful story of the love and dedication to training and owning a service dog. The story was complete but I really wasn’t ready to quit reading about Evie, Jake, Sam, Charlie and Daisy.
Sarah Adams did not disappoint! I loved this sweet clean romantic comedy!
This was such a fun book! It’s practically impossible to find contemporary romances that are clean, so I loved how the author wrote a great plot with endearing characters while still keeping things clean. I would definitely recommend this book!
Wow, wow, wow! Amazing, fantastic book! I LOVED this story! I just discovered this author for the first time and she had me hooked from page one! I loved the storyline about service dogs. We almost registered for a service dog ourselves for our children with Autism when they were small, so it’s something that is near and dear to my heart. This is a very well written, clean romance and I cannot wait to read more of her work!
I couldn’t put it down! I love all the characters in it—I especially loved his family. SOOO many good parts, but I can’t say anything without giving away spoilers. 😉
You’ll love them as a couple, you’ll love the dog, the daughter, the friends, the family, and the kissing. 😉
I loved this book just as much as Sarah’s regency novels – it was just so much fun to read! It is labeled a romantic comedy and that is no lie. I smiled and laughed my way through this book and, no joke, at one point I had tears streaming down my face because I was laughing so hard!
The plot was great, the characters were endearing (I loved their meet cute!), and the romance was sizzlin’ but clean. Loved the inclusion of service dogs – added a sweet element to the story. I seriously cannot wait to see what Sarah comes up with next!
I received a complimentary copy but my opinions are my own.
This book was hilarious and so much fun to read! I felt like I connected with Evie right away since I was also diagnosed with an illness when I was 16 years old (not the same illness, but still felt a kinship). I loved how Evie responded to her Epilepsy and how her career allowed her to help others. There were some very sweet and tender moments in this book regarding that aspect and Evie’s relationship with Sam. I loved seeing how Jake and Evie’s relationship grew as well and how everything played out. Adams did a great job writing in this genre and I sincerely hope she writes more Rom Coms! Highly recommend!
4.5 Stars this is a rom-com fans of Contemporary romance do not want to miss! I have loved the writing style of author Sarah Adams and enjoyed her Regency romances. When I learned she was working on a Contemporary rom-com, I couldn’t have been more excited and I was not disappointed- The Match was great! Not only are the characters totally lovable, but the service dog aspect reached right to my heart. Having a family member with a service dog brought this story close to home and the author did an incredible job being true to the process and experiences people may have.
I loved the humor in this story! Evie’s ability to simply be honest made for some great moments and endeared her to me. Her and Jake definitely had some hot chemistry, but total bonus, it was all clean on the page so you get the swoon without the uncomfortable inappropriate scenes.
This is a book I’ll be rereading and recommending for sure.
The Match is the first book that I have read by Sarah and I loved it! It was so cute and funny. The Match is a rom-com written by Sarah Adams, this book follows the adventures of Evie and her service dog, Charlie. Evie is a young woman who is trying to be independent. She has found her passion in life and enjoys working for the Southern Service Paws. But her life gets turned upside down when she starts to help out a client and his daughter.
I loved Evie from the beginning, she was just so funny to read about. She didn’t always get social cues, but she was kind. It was so interesting to read about someone who had a disability. She didn’t let it define her, but she knew her limits. Her relationship with Joanna made my day, they had the weirdest relationship and yet it worked. Joanna was a mentor for Evie and yet she was so much more.
Jake was sweet, he was at a loss of how to help his daughter Sam and he just wanted what was best for her. He was a great dad, but he was getting overwhelmed trying to help his daughter especially after they learn about her disability. He finds himself failing for Evie, but he is still hurt from his previous marriage and he was still raw. But Evie wiggled her way into his heart and he found himself head over heels.
Jack and Evie were really cute, they really completed each other. I loved their interactions with Sam. Sam was the apple of Jake’s eye and Evie loved Sam like her own daughter. They were a family but Jake and Evie had to overcome some obstacles before they were able to get their happy ending.
This was a great book, I really enjoyed it. I would totally recommend it, it has some innuendos but otherwise it is clean and there is no language. I read it in two days and I wanted to cheer when everything worked out for Evie and Jake. I can’t wait to see what else Sarah writes!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
