This story was one bumpy messy ride. Olivia was a wonderful character. I liked her strength and her innocence, which never wavered as things changed around her. Markus was a bit of a prick to start but as I got to know him along with Olivia my opinion changed. Despite all the violence, political intrigue, counter intelligence, I enjoyed the story and found it hard to stop reading. There were a few tears near the end as well as a heavy sigh of relief. I recommend this story.
I received a copy of this story through Candid Book Reviews, and this is my unsolicited review.
Markus Wenger and Olivia Munro seem like a very unlikely match, and they might not have given each other a second look if they hadn’t met under such unusual circumstances and now are bound together for the mutual benefit of both themselves and their employers, or so it seems. The back and forth between these two is clever, at times equally enchanting and exciting, extremely passionate, and always entertaining.
This is an engaging, suspenseful tale, full of dangerous intrigue and steamy romance. The storyline is a roller coaster of emotions, with lots of ups and downs and twists and turns which will keep you enthralled from beginning to end. Markus was introduced to us in “The Amnesia Paradox”, but you don’t have to have read it to enjoy this story. If you did, you will be glad to know Jackson and Rose play a small part in this story, also. I highly recommend this very enjoyable and gripping romantic suspense story and series!
My mind’s still reeling and I have no idea what to say to properly describe how amazing this book is. There’s drama, tension, betrayal, action, adventure, lust, love, and romance. This book has everything I expect in quality romantic suspense and then gives me even more. Markus and Olivia are both so ‘human’. It’s easy to relate to them in so many ways. I don’t know which one I wanted to cuddle and protect more: Olivia with the warped view of herself that had been imposed on her or Markus and his belief that everything he’d done in the line of duty made him unworthy of her. There are lots of lovely little twists to the plot that kept me guessing and kept me reading to see how it would all come out right in the end. And I loved getting the chance to see Jackson and Rose again. Already, I’m impatiently waiting for the next book in the series to be written and released.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.

I received a free copy of Unlikely Spies book 2: The Marriage Paradox by Noelle Greene and this review was given freely.
The Marriage Paradox is a well written full length Romantic Suspense. Noelle Greene incorporates multiple plot twists in this complexed novel which is full of action and intrigue but also contains a rocky romance with a happy ending.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Olivia Munro, is on a quest to find her father, who is in a detention camp. She meets Ian, and decides to throw caution to the wind for a one night stand. Believing that she’ll never run into Ian again. Markus has had premonitions about his death and always sees an angel. When he first sees Olivia, he is struck by how much she resembles the angel in his dreams.
Olivia receives a note to which sends her to a Monastery to speak with the Abbot Sun about her father. Little does Olivia realize that she is being followed, and that Ian is one of many disguises used by Markus Wenger. He is wearing another disguise as a monk doing surveillance at Sun’s request. Abbot Sun gives Olivia a book, where she finds a slip of paper with Chinese writing on it. When Abbot Sun is attacked, and Olivia tries to intervene, she is knocked unconscious where Markus steps in and whisks her away.
Olivia is called into her boss’s office to look at surveillance footage of two men in a casino. She recognized Edward Mahoney but not the other, Markus. As luck would have it, Olivia’s meeting Ian, who is Markus, is also on video. A plan is hatched to use Markus to gather evidence on Mahoney by dangling a carrot for Markus, to get a visa to enter China to see an uncle who is being detained.
Olivia and Markus are to pose as a married couple.
Olivia and Markus have both been damaged by their pasts. In the beginning, neither trusts the other, but over time, they come to realize they need one another. A fake marriage may be what they both need.
I loved this story! I highly recommend Noelle Greene’s books.
