What a fabulous book! I was hooked from the start in my first Kimberly Belle book and was up until the shocking end. I listened to this on Audible and enjoyed the perfect pacing of the story by narrator Johanna Parker who made the story come to life for me.
This is the story of a perfect marriage, or is it really, when the husband dies in a plane crash and the wife learns his secrets. Does anyone really know the person they married? I gave this book four stars and am very much looking forward to reading the backlist of this author. Well done!
This is definitely one of the best books I’ve read this year and I’ve read a lot of them. The plot is perfect and draws you in from the first page. The characters are rich, deep, and keep you rooting for them. If you’re looking for a good book that will keep you entertained, look no further.
Kimberly Belle did an extraordinary job depicting a twin sibling relationship, born from the most loving & doting parents. Their stance when they heard the horrific news their daughter, Iris, has tragically lost her husband was followed with we’re moving in to help . . . no buts, ifs, or when?! I LOVED Iris’s brother Dave (and his husband.) And how Dave dropped everything to do some sleuthing with his sis in Seatle. I loved how Iris’s dad had a security alarm installed in her house while she was at work-“to be on the safe side.” And Iris’s mom’s nonstop cooking & baking ’cause a girl’s gotta eat! was downright comical and adorable and not annoying whatsoever. They just did what needed to be done because that’s what family is! Bravo Belle! I look forward to reading more of your page-turners. 😉
Keeps you guessing. Page Turner. Shocking
I couldn’t read quickly enough!! It kept me hooked.
This story had so much going for it. I kept imagining what I’d think had my husband up and disappeared in such a horrific but questionable way. It’s a clever story and I know I wanted to know what the heck happened. Sometimes, I did have to push through but push through I did. It was worth it!
I’m not sure why I picked this book, but I am so glad I did. It is a definite five star book. I wasn’t too sure about the ending but after thinking about it that’s the only way the story could’ve ended. What a roller coaster of action. It really was very very good book.
This book was refreshing in that it touched on so many thriller genre elements — but completely turned each on their head. Must read!
So good!! Just read it.
Phew! What a fantastic story. An exceptional domestic suspense page-turner I finished in two sittings, turning out the light after one in the morning with a smile on my face at the shocking very last line. Iris finds out her husband is not the man she thought she’d married and each chapter ramps up the suspense, each lie and hidden secret a revelation leaving me wondering how well we truly know the person we marry. Kimberley Belle wrote a nuanced protagonist, struggling with multiple new realities. Lots of clever ambiguous clues left me guessing who the enemy really was – I loved being wrong each time, it makes the suspense worth every twist and turn of the story. A five star, highly recommended read for fans of domestic thrillers.
Wow! This was my first novel by Kimberly Belle and surely won’t be my last! Lies, lies and more lies…this intense, suspenseful, domestic thriller had me turning the pages so fast I could hardly put the book down! When Iris’s husband Will leaves for a business trip to Orlando, then she suddenly finds out he was on a plane headed to Seattle instead, her world falls apart. The plane has crashed and there are no survivors. Why was he on it, what other lies has he told her and who can she trust? Belle creates a masterful tale of secrets, betrayals and deceit. I got very caught up in the main character. I felt every bit of Iris’s anguish. I wanted to take her pain away. This book will keep you wondering who and what you should believe from beginning to end! I highly recommend it!
The ending was a stunner!
Good book. It kept me engaged but I was disappointed with the ending.
An interesting and well-paced story of deceit and betrayal. Wonderful ending.
Kept me involved the whole time. Couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. Good mystery
Excellent. Highly recommend for a psychological thriller.
This book was amazing. Just when I thought I had it figured out…I didn’t. I have to say I was most surprised by the very ending.
It will keep you wondering and keep you reading til the end. Entertaining from the first chapter.
I enjoyed book, figured what was going on with her husband but did not see the ending coming.
The story sucked me in from the first page, where the author made me feel the love in this couple’s relationship. Then, when unspeakable tragedy occurs, I fully understood and was gripped by Iris’ need to believe it had not happened. Her investigative journey to learn who the man really was that had been sleeping beside her for seven years was well-drawn and enticing. I loved Iris’ family, too–we should all be so lucky. This was the first of Kimberly Belle’s books I’ve read and assuredly, it will not be the last.
