However, one of them just landed in the hospital, which gives his brother the shot he needs to challenge Logan for custody.Legal counsel says there’s only one thing Logan can do—find himself a wife.Paige McKinney doesn’t always think things through.… always think things through.
Like walking away from her modeling career without a thought of what might come next. She really doesn’t think it through when she proclaims herself Logan’s fiancé at the hospital, simply because the sexy—albeit grumpy—football player forgot his cell phone at a party and security won’t let her pass. It’s not her fault it was overheard by the worst possible person.
A bargain is struck, and a fake marriage is the perfect solution. But the simple solution creates a whole new problem: they’re not as different as they seem. The reluctant groom has fire inside him, and his impetuous bride is about to light the match.

Logan Ward may be big in the football world, but he does his best to stay off the radar. No one knows that he has custody of his four sisters, and has for years now. When Logan’s brother hears that one of the girls got into trouble, he makes a point in letting Logan know that he is going to try for custody, and according to Logan’s lawyer, Nick has a very good chance. When Paige ends up walking in and spouting a lie about being his fiancée, Logan knows that she is the answer. What starts off as just in name only, slowly turns into something more, but can that something more last, or is Paige only there for her own reasons?
I didn’t read the first two books in this series, and I felt that this was a good standalone. With some drama, football, and some nice naughty bits, this proved to be an entertaining read and I give it 4 stars.
Cute, fun, and heartwarmingly perfect!
BRILLIANT.!!!
I really Loved this story between Logan and Paige, who go into a fake marriage because both of them need a spouse ASAP…They both have their own reasons but didn’t imagine fake would feel so real.
I loved the chemistry between these two,Paige did her best to wear Logan down and get him into their bed to do more than sleep, and I can’t believe Logan resisted as long as he did.
This is an amazing read, I found it very emotional actually because there are children involved, and there were some funny moments but very heart breaking moments too.
I adore Logan he is a gentle giant and I am so glad he got a book,we see a different fun side to him in this story too….and He loves with his whole heart even though he is a moody broody type.
Paige is like a firecracker I liked her alot she is trying to find her place in the world and finally finds it unexpectedly with Logan and his sisters.
But the marriage has an end date…so what will happen when that date comes…and how many hearts will be broken.
Karla Sorensen’s words wrapped around me and drew me in straight away and I just could not put it down.
A Fabulous book that I Highly Recommend.
5 Stars
4.5 stars! How I wish I could just live in this book with Logan. What a good grumpy man. I didn’t realize that this book had Molly in it and I got to see the backstory of her and Griffin! I just want to reread that book now. I am so in love. I enjoyed it, but I feel like I shouldn’t have listened because Paige annoyed me a bit, I am not sure if it was the audio or if it was just the character, but as it went on, it got better. I can’t wait to read more of Karla’s heroes.
Ok, Logan and Paige are the reason I ended up getting into this series altogether. I had stumbled upon the book of one of his sisters, and I snowballed my way back until I finally made it to their story. And it’s probably my favorite of the three in this series. Paige came across as pretty aggressive when it came to men ever since she made her debut in book one. She’s also a just retired supermodel, is used to and loves the attention. Logan is her total opposite, he likes his peace and quiet, and definitely doesn’t want to be in the spotlight. Life throws them together when they each find themselves in need of a spouse ASAP. Their story is definitely a kind of long slow burn, but I really loved it and couldn’t imagine it any other way.
I really enjoyed The Marriage Effect. It was bold, fun and sassy. Paige and Logan are complete opposites. Logan is grumpy and surly, and Paige is full of life and wit. When they both need a favor, they decide to go all in and agree to a fake engagement. They do their best to navigate their new arrangement and not affect Logan’s four young impressionable sisters. They are tested everyday, but along the way there are lots of laughs, pranks and sexual tension. Together they form a beautiful connection and build an amazing family.
This was a good marriage of convenience romance read. Logan doesn’t enjoy being in the spotlight while Paige has spent her life in it. Logan is also known for being serious while Paige is known to jump from one thing to the next. Logan has responsibilities while Paige has only had to worry about herself. When they realize they could help each other get what they want, things for them become more than they want and what they thought they would need. Their story had it’s sweet and steamy moments but Logan fought against it most of the story. I needed less of him fighting against it and more of him just enjoying the marriage which didn’t really happen until near the end of the story. The author gives us two epilogues and although they are sweet, I wish the story had more sweet and memorable moments between Logan and Paige during the story. This was a good read but a one-time read for me.
Paige a retiring model moves to Seattle to start something new and love with her best friend Allie the owner of the Washington Wolves. During this process, she meets a Bruiting Alpha Male Logan who is anything but warm and friendly. When an unexpected mistake happens to the sisters he is a guardian over he finds himself in need of finding a woman who can fulfill a need that he has to protect those he loves most. Paige finds herself also in need of a husband and so after a well-placed insinuation of a relationship, they find themselves walking down the aisle towards the only forever they never saw coming. Come to find out they may be the only happily ever after they need after all.
This book was amazingly written and kept me turning page after page cheering for their romance, hurting for their struggles, and staying up way past my bedtime to finish their HEA.
Loved the series
Logan has a full plate. He works hard to be the best at what he does for his team. He is the guardian to his four younger sisters. When he meets Paige at a team event he gets scared that he has found the one who can change his priorities.
Paige has never stayed in one place for long. When she has to get married, it is rather convenient that so does Logan. The fact that they are attracted to each other and generate that much heat? Priceless.
I loved reading this story. I was sucked in from the very first, and literally laughed out loud in parts. There was so much to this book. Humor and so many sparks I cannot believe my e-reader did not catch fire! With an interesting story, and some fun background characters this one was a sure win.
I enjoyed reading this book and will start looking for other books by this author
NO SPOILERS!
The Marriage Effect was absolutely fantastic, and I wholeheartedly loved Logan and Paige’s sweet, sexy, humorous, emotional, and swoon-worthy marriage of convenience love story! Karla Sorensen has written some of my favorite sports romances EVER in her amazing, MUST READ Washington Wolves series, and The Marriage Effect was the perfect way to end it!
I loved the storyline and have become addicted to Karla Sorensen’s beautiful prose. She makes storytelling seem effortless (which I know it isn’t), and I can’t get enough of her pen. Karla did a fantastic job with the plot of The Marriage Effect, and I truly enjoyed the marriage of convenience and sports romance tropes. Logan and Paige’s story was very entertaining, and I loved watching their romance unfold from start to finish. It made me laugh, smile, and swoon my heart out, and the ending was perfect and made me so incredibly happy.
The characters were amazing. I loved Logan and Paige. They were both stubborn and hardheaded at times, but once I better understood Logan and Paige and their motives and personalities, I ultimately loved them to pieces and thought they were a perfect fit for each other. I also adored Logan’s four half-sisters and several other familiar faces from the previous two books in the series.
The Marriage Effect was an excellent conclusion to the Washington Wolves series of standalone sports romances, and I absolutely loved Logan and Paige’s unconventional love story. It was sweet, sexy, funny, emotional, swoon-worthy, and entertaining, and I can’t wait to devour more romances from Karla Sorensen!
LOVED this so much!!!
I read The Bombshell Effect and The Ex Effect a while ago and I remember being intrigued by one Mr. Logan Ward. I was so excited to read his story. I’m sorta kicking myself for waiting so long because OMG…he is everything!
Logan… a growly, scowly, sexy AF football player. A quiet guy, a thinker, never one to bring attention to himself – exactly how he wants it.
Paige… Bubbly yet fierce, confident yet vulnerable. The perfect opposite for Logan.
Put these two together = sparks galore & sizzling chemistry.
Even though they’d barely said two words to each other in the past, an opportunity presents itself, and they realized they could use each other…but a marriage would be necessary. They each had something lose if they didn’t get hitched.
But it’s a fake marriage.
It’s not forever.
It’s not for love.
A deal is a deal.
But then hearts and feelings had to go and get involved and Logan tries everything in his grumpy power to resist her. She tries everything in HER power to tempt him in the bedroom. Why not have some fun during their time together? But they both want different things, so that’s a big NO.
Logan’s sisters were a huge part in this book and they stole my heart. Shenanigans and pranks from the youngest, twins Lia & Claire, impulse and not-so-wise decisions from the oldest, Molly, and lots of anger and silence from 14 year old Isabel. They gave Logan and Paige a run for their money and kept them on their toes.
The feels were plentiful, the sexual tension thick, and my heart overfloweth with love after reading this story. Loved it!
After reading Focused and being enamoured with Paige and Logan I wanted to go back and read their story, I’m going completely backwards here but it was so worth it. I’m on a Karla Sorensen kick right now and I’m loving every second of it. Where has she been hiding all my life? Okay, so she’s not been hiding and she has been recommended to me in the past…but life. Now I’m kicking myself for not diving in sooner.
This is what I’d call a true sports romance, you know what I mean, a sports romance where the sport isn’t mentioned in passing, or just a job someone does, but a part of the story. And it fit so well, Logan and Paige are so cute together. I’m not ashamed to say I shed a few tears in this book, the emotion came roaring out of the page/ headphones with what Logan’s sisters were experiencing. Watching Paige fall in love with not only Logan but his sisters was beautiful. My heart felt every one of the feels. Karla sure knows how to get a reaction. I have fallen in love with her writing and I need all the words. Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down.
Stephen Dexter was great as Logan. Isabelle Ruther was new to me but she was fantastic as the feisty Paige and I look forward to listening to more. The two voices complemented each other well.
I’m looking forward to going back to the other books to spend more time with the other characters mentioned. Luke and Ally are next.
Logan needs a wife to keep his brother from taking his half-sisters to raise. Paige needs a husband to collect her inheritance from her crazy aunt’s will. Easy answer for both. No strings, two year commitment. What could go wrong?
Sit down and settle in to catch up with your favorite Washington Wolves players and their families. And maybe get a glimpse into a new spin-off series.
This book is everything I could’ve asked for in the third book in the Washington Wolves series! The Bombshell Effect was my favorite in the series until I read Paige and Logan’s story. The Marriage Effect completely blew any expectations I had of it out of the water! It made me laugh my butt off, bawl my eyes out, and fall in love so damn hard!
When Paige and Logan find themselves in need of a spouse, it only makes sense that they devise a plan to get married and live together for the next two years, right? I don’t think either one quite knew what they were getting into when they said, “I do.” With Logan came a ragtag group of sisters who either fawn over Paige and her model status or are bound and determined to make her life a living hell one toothpaste filled oreo at a time. With Paige came a gorgeous body and caring soul that Logan can’t help but find himself attracted to. They both know their marriage is fake, but the chemistry between the two is far from it. Will they act on their feelings? And what happens when everyone in the Ward household begins to fall for Paige?
If you didn’t believe in love before reading this book, you damn sure will now! The love that Logan has for his sisters will melt your heart! To the outside world, he is a complete hardass but when he is with his sisters it’s a completely different story. And when Paige is thrown into the mix and gives everyone a run for their money it is definitely a show! She forms a bond with each of the sisters leaving the stubborn Iz for last. And I’ll tell you when Paige and Iz have their moment you will be pulling out the tissue box because it’s deeper than I ever thought it could be for a fourteen-year-old. And I can’t wait to read more about Isabel’s story in the Ward Sister Series.
I needed this book so much and I am so glad it’s the last book in the series! Damn, I never thought I’d say that about this series. If you asked me after The Ex Effect if I wanted this series to end anytime soon I would’ve replied with “Hell no,” but this book was such a wholesome, heartwarming end to a super sweet series. And it also helps that Karla promised us a series about the girls. So I’ll be counting down the days until that! This is a great book and series for anyone looking for laughter, love, and lots of sweet moments!
Also, does anyone else agree that we should convince Karla to write a story about Amy, the badass boxing coach?
I really enjoyed this marriage of convenience storyline. Logan and Paige’s chemistry is a slow burn and when it ignites, kaboom! The narration is fantastic! A must read/listen in this series!

Favorite Quote: “Paige and I were the same. Whatever fire burned inside her, I had it in me too. I’d just never met anyone who made me want to let the flames consume me. Who made me want to see how hot they could burn, what heights they could reach, what we could reach together”
Review:
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this book considering there are children involved. It helped for me that they weren’t Logan’s actual children, but his sisters, I don’t know why it makes a difference for me but it does a little bit.
I liked Paige in the first few books, she was funny and sassy and she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She challenged Logan and he needed that.
Logan is a guy that rather suffers in silence than ask anyone for help, he doesn’t talk about his life much. This makes him seem unapproachable and like he doesn’t care. While in fact he does care. He is willing to do whatever it takes for his family and the people he loves. Even if it means marrying a total stranger to keep his sisters.
Overall I enjoyed this book. It had a good mix of banter, humor and steamy scenes. The characters had great chemistry together. Whether they liked to admit it or not.
There was a big misunderstanding at the end that could have totally been handled differently. But it got resolved in the end.
Rating:
4 I really liked it stars
Wow! This was so good and just what I needed. I couldn’t put it down!
Logan and Paige’s story was so emotional and perfect. I came close to tears a couple of times with all the emotion that was in some scenes. Logan was a wonderful big brother and reluctant husband. Paige was such a great addition to the family. She understood the girls and really connected with them. I loved all the pranks.
Overall a wonderful football romance. I was surprised at how much I loved this book and I kinda want to read the next book now.
I was lucky enough to read this one super early. It’s one of those delicious slow burn, chemistry for days kind of reads. You can feel the sexual tension pouring from the page! I absolutely LOVED Paige in previous books and had a soft spot for Logan too. Their love story is packed with genuine LOL moments, serious heat & a definite dose of feels. The author touches on some real life subjects in a really genuine way. Witty dialogue, fantastic supporting characters and just a yummy dash of seriously hot sexy times. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a smart, funny read.
