Finding your happily ever after is complicated when your matchmaker is a cat… her.
Beau’s happy at sea until his father passes and leaves him with an odd last request. Now he’s setting up shop in a small town, searching for ogres, and, inconveniently, falling for the miller’s sister—who just happens to be taken with someone else.
It soon becomes clear that if Etta and Beau want to get anywhere, they’ll need not only each other’s help, but the cat’s as well. But putting your trust in a feline is difficult, especially when you’re not exactly sure what it is he has planned…
A romantic retelling by the author of The Eldentimber Series

This was a well-written retelling of Puss in Boots. The author made the story, as well as the characters, their own. It was entertaining and humorous and made me want to keep reading.
This Puss in Boots was a great ride! The retelling honored the spirit of the tale without feeling stale. I look forward to more retellings from Ms. Tapscott!
This is a easy to read, entertaining retelling. I don’t really remember the original Puss in Boots story that well, so I had very few expectations going into this story other that it would contain a talking cat and some boots. I enjoyed the slow coming together of the romance. And that Etta made the first move. 😀 Puss was appropriately disdainful and grudgingly affectionate to the humans (like any cat would be) and the story was a fun fairytale. I’m not sure I’ll come back for a reread, though. It was missing a few scenes I would’ve liked to have- more exposition on some character’s relationships, and I would’ve liked a bit more to the final chapter. There was some aspects that were tied up in a neat bow that could’ve done with a bit more tension and fight to solve them. But all-in-all, I’d say this is a nice and easy read to entertain you during a slow work shift or a long train ride or something along those lines.
I couldn’t ask for anything different from this author! This book is perfect!
I love this fairy tale and this was a great version.
Poor Puss, he know his destiny, he is supposed to get the one who inherits him wed to royalty and bring down a shape-shifting Ogre, but things keep going wrong. First he is inherited by a girl, then she buys HERSELF boots instead of buying them for him. As if that was not enough, the REAL Marquis of Carabas shows up to interfere in the masquerade…
I liked this original take on the fairy tale. It was fun and interesting.
I absolutely loved this book. It was so much fun to read, and I could hardly put it down.
I enjoyed this retelling of fairytale.

A lovely twist on the original. I enjoyed the reading. The end was a bit of a quick wrap-up, but overall a lovely read.
This was a great new take on the classic Puss in Boot ms fairy tale. Very well written.
Fun story with great happily ever after ending!
It’s a rewriting if an old tale. It would be good to read to your children or grandchildren of 6 or older. No bad language or sexual scenario to worry about. I read it for me and enjoyed it.
