Two Men. One Choice. When the handsome and charming Marquess of Oakham, Julian Wareham, turns his dark-blue eyes her way, Rosalie Curtis cannot believe her luck. Wealthy, titled and well loved; the marquess is a man who could secure not only her future but also that of her family. It seems impossible that he would look to her, a shy and insecure woman, quickly approaching her prime; but here he … prime; but here he is, the answer to her family’s prayers.
Yet no matter how handsome the man or how decent the match… there is another who also stirs her heart.
Peter Farrell was the first real friend Rosalie made when she came to live with her widowed and well-connected aunt, Lady Lynch. Handsome, broad shouldered and kind, Peter is the type of man that inspires her trust, even as rumours swirl of a dark and sordid past. Yet Peter lacks a title and the prestige that would catch a lady’s eye, leaving Rosalie dancing between two men with very different futures.
Caught between society’s expectations and the needs of her family, Rosalie must make a choice…
Captivatingly sweet and soulfully romantic. Accompany Rosalie Curtis on her journey of heart and soul to find true love.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from a new-to-me author and feel it deserves the 5 stars I have given it. Rosalie Curtis returns to London after an unsuccessful season at the end of the season. She returns to London to live with her wealthy Aunt Lynch to try, again, to secure a husband in the off season. On her first day she goes for a walk in Hyde Park and wanders onto Rotten Row and is almost mowed down by two unscrupulous men racing down the lane. In trying to avoid a collision, Rosalie jumps out of the way and injures her ankle in the process. She is met by a charming little girl and her father who then assist her in getting home. Peter Farrell is intrigued by this unusual woman and they agree to meet again for a stroll in Hyde Park with his daughter Abigail. What begins as an acquaintance slowly turns into something more.
In the meantime, Aunt Lynch introduces Rosalie to society and she meets Marquess of Oakham, Julian Wareham, and a new acquaintance begins and develops into a relationship, but Rosalie becomes confused about her feelings for both men in her life. Her aunt warns her against a relationship with Peter because of the scandal in his past that has him shunned from society.
What is the scandal in Peter’s past and can Rosalie overcome it? Which gentleman will Rosalie choose, Peter or the Marquess of Oakham? Check out this book and get the answers to these questions and more. If you enjoy clean, historical romance, you will love this one. I must say that I enjoyed the narrator, Marian Hussey’s, narration of this book. Enjoy!
I listened to a copy of The Marquess’s Hand in audio form given to me by the author. I voluntarily post this review without expectation of compensation from anyone.
A VERY ENDEARING LOVE STORY! This story was so sweet and clean. The heroine, Rosalie Curtis, is torn between two very different men. One, society craves, and the other, it shuns. Yet, Rosalie is determined to get to the bottom of who these men truly are. Ms. Wynter has written a truly endearing tale with very distinct characters and I loved all of them, even the antagonists.
After finishing this audiobook I sat and thought about it – What was it that held my interest and kept me listening? And then I realised that the author had captured the idea that it’s not only who you know, but what you know about them that is important.
The story tells of a young lady who knows just what and who she does and doesn’t want in her life. After two unsuccessful seasons her well-wed and all-knowing aunt takes her in with the intention of finding her a good marriage partner and suddenly there are two potentials.
Besides some very colourful characters there are mysteries to be solved in this clean, enjoyable and easy to listen to story.
Marion Hussey did a good job of the narration and she and the author, Rosie Wynter, have made a good team.
I requested and received a free copy of the audiobook version and my review as above is voluntary and unbiased.
