It was a slow read for me.
I read 2 other books in the middle of reading this one. Once I got about halfway it got more interesting for me.
Maybe it was slow for me because the characters I thought were the ones that the book was about, were not.
Overall I did like it.
Happy reading.
I enjoyed this book. Good story. I read of lot Ms Rices books.
I couldnt put this book down. It kept me coming back. You couldnt wait to see what going happen next.
I loved it, it was a classic Regency. The name does not do it justice, it’s a great read
I liked it very much. I liked the bravery of the female character in the book.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters of this book! Their vulnerability kept me coming back for more. The steamy scenes dropped my jaw, but seeing how lust turned to love was indeed heartwarming. The unexpected action scenes sent a thrill to the reader, cheering on the Marquess and his termagant.
Love reading about !ife and social science of the period. Often wonder how we got from there to present day behaviors, good and bad. Loved the characters especially the love and devotion for each other in the female characters. Loved Dillion for seeing beyond the the Marquess’s scares.
Liked the storyline but not the way it ended
For the story to work there had to be some mystery. There was a little too much mystery. There were times I did not know which character was talking and who they were talking about. I liked the characters especially the female lead (although she did do some dumb things). The story idea was very good too. Overall I enjoyed it but do not believe I …
Great book!
While it took me just a bit to get into the story, the complex characters had me hooked. Each revealed very little to begin with, but once I started peeling away the layers I was totally intrigued. And not only the leads but the supporting cast kept me guessing. This is really a book you can get your teeth into; not what I would consider a ‘light …
I enjoyed the plot lines as well as the excellent writing. I’ll look forward to the other books of this series.
Loved this story and these wonderful characters. So much so.. that I purchased “The English Heiress” to read about Michael and Blanche’s story. And now I am purchasing “The Irish Duchess”. Can’t wait to find out about Fiona and Neville’s romance. Thank you Ms. Rice for writing such rich, interesting and romantic stories.
The interplay between the characters was delightful. A beauty meets beast between the poor heroic aristocrat and the spunky heroine.
I really enjoyed this
Fairly well written. Would have liked a completed ending
One of the best, most interesting stories I have read in a long time. Although the two main characters were unlikable at times, I enjoyed the supporting characters. And the story was so interesting that I couldn’t wait to read the whole book.
This book could go either way for some people.
Tooooo sexy
Overly long narrative has cast of characters running back and forth across countryside in a somewhat spastic manner. Gavin, the Marquess, has been raised in America and inherited a crumbling mansion which he is trying to restore. Due to facial scaring he has become a recluse and allows his brother O’Toole to run all ourside errands. When O’Toole …
