But in a twist of events that even the legendary gods couldn’t see coming, the Marcella II is found first, the young gods are … II is found first, the young gods are captured, Prometheus is beheaded, and a mortal friend is killed.
Shocked by this turn of events, Hades recruits demigods Gertie and Hector to join in the effort to rescue the young gods and uncover the secret of the vampire pirate organization and stop them, once and for all. This brand-new series shares the world of The Underworld Saga and The Vampires of Athens but can be read first or independently of the others.

love any new twist on Greek Mythology!! … then vampires too!? … amazing read!
This was really a great YA story full of mythology , action and a touch of romance just perfect to get the reader hooked on the universe however while this is the first book of this series it’s full of allusions of events having taken place before so it could be a little confusing for some at the beginning if you have not read other series by the author that answers those questions. You still can start with this one but like i said it may require a little adaptation time at the beginning to be fully immersed in the story and swept by the events taking place.
I loved Poros and Hestie, they are good to each other but they still have a lot to learn. Gertie is funny and i really want to learn more about her. Hector was a little more confusing for a demi god he has really normal trouble but i hope his feelings stay true…i guess i was as disappointed as he made Gertie. …I like Hermie the less …oki just Jinsoo come after him but the pet canari Chidori is a little funny touch
As for the vampires…they grow you you very quickly even without the power of their bite.
The fight between the gods and their “servants” was really interesting with twists and lot of action while their motive are still hidden for most of them. Ans some emotionnal moments well balanced with the rest of the story to create a great adventure
Really i enjoy this book a lot and i can’t wait to see what await the Marcella 2 and his crew next.
Definitively a great story perhaps even better with teh others series read in order first
This book is interesting. I wouldn’t have thought to put vampires & mythical gods in the same story but this was pretty cool. It was nice having them in a modern time frame too.I think young adults would like this the most but any age can enjoy this book.I recommend this book & look forward to the next 1.
I was gifted this book as an ARC copy.
Where do I start?? First let me tell you that this book is awesome!!! Visiting with old friends from not one but two of Eva’s series was like coming home. And even if you haven’t read any of her books, you will love and enjoy this saga! I know it is not easy merging worlds but Eva has done it flawlessly. Gods, demigods, vampires!! Can´t wait to know where this story will take us!!!

Vampires and Greek Mythology
Mixing Vampires and Greek Mythology makes an awesome read! I loved it!
I absolutely loved this book. Eva spins the best stories. This one takes a few spins but it was an awesome read that kept me wanting more.
The Marcella II by Eva Pohler is the first book in a new series that is a spin-off of 2 previous series – The Gatekeepers Saga and The Vampire of Athens series. I am a huge fan of both of the previous series and I was super excited about this new crossover….and it did not disappoint.
You could probably read this book without reading any of the books from the other series but I think that reading the other series first made this book even better because I was already invested in a lot of the characters. Most of my favorite characters from the previous series appeared in this new book….and it felt like reconnecting with old friends and hearing about what has been going on in their lives (if my old friends were all gods and demi-gods). And I really liked the new characters that were introduced in this book.
The story was interesting and had a lot of twists and turns. And I loved how the ending set up the characters for lots of new adventures….I can’t wait to see where Ms. Pohler takes them in the future.
