Excellent historical novel. I hope the author continues with additional books in a series.
Kinda flat reading. There are battles, intrigue, and so on but it just has no zing to it. The characters seem two-dimensional and it was hard to get real involved in the book.
Well researched and well written. Part of history that has not been terribly familiar to me.
If your into ancient Roman history, this might be just what your looking for. It is very descriptive of the life of the Roman soldier.
Different history.
Well thought out. Look forward to follow up. Would give to a friend.
Not my cup of tea”
AMAZING! I loved this book! I felt I was living beside the characters in early Rome, experiencing life as the people did then. Made me think of how things in modern times are not so much different, and maybe we haven’t really come as far as we think. The author had me hooked from the first page and I couldn’t put it down. I was so sorry it ended, I could have read for months. I enjoyed it so much I bought the other book offered by this author and will buy all that become available! Loved, loved, loved it!
Hard to put down and draws you into the characters… keeps me anticipating the plot ahead… Hope there are more books to come…
