There are things that women want, and things that women need.I know deep down, with every fiber in my body, that I need Mr. Ward.He started out as my landscape designer, but became so much more. Now, my life is on the line while living with the devil himself. I have been torn down and broken, and I don’t think I can take anymore. The man I need was never the one I married. No, the man I need is the … married.
No, the man I need is the one I was never supposed to have. He’s the one who showed me gentleness, kindness, and true love.
Ward would put up a fight for me at any cost.
I know for a fact, I could be so much happier with him…
But when I come face-to-face with reality, I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to risk it all for someone I’ve just met, even if it seems like Mr. Ward and I are a match made in heaven.

After the ending in book 1 of the Ward Duet, I could not wait to get my hands on the second book, The Man I Need by Shanora Williams. I devoured the first book. It was emotional, steamy and full of angst. The Man I Need was so much more than I expected. I fell hard for Marcel in the first book and I still loved him in this one, but this was Gabby’s story all the way.
I have to admit I did not always like Gabby at first, but in this book we see her. Truly see her. My heart broke for her, but at the same time, we see her strength and growth. With secrets and lies at every turn, will Gabby be able to endure and find her way back to the man she needs? The Man I Need by Shanora Williams all-consuming, emotional and totally riveting. This book will touch you in so many ways. It was heartbreaking and real.

Happy reading!
Yes, Yes, Yes!!! I have been searching for a book along the love triangle line for so long and this book did it for me. It scratched that itch for me and OMG I want to read more of Shanora Williams books. This duet meet my every need for this kind of story. I was absolutely addicted to Gabby, Marcel, and Kyle’s story. Gabby’s story really starts with a bang in this book and understanding her choices that she made in the first book are answered in this book. Omg…her heartbreaking story had me all in my feelings and that ending left me in awe.
Shanora Williams has won me over with her writing and made me a new stalker of hers. I absolutely loved this duet and I am so looking forward to reading more of her books.
This duet is my absolute favorite of 2019!!! An absolute re-read worthy duet for sure.
I really can’t recommend this book enough…

The Man I Need is the perfect conclusion to the Ward Duet. Picking up right where we left off in The Man I Can’t Have, there are some very tough scenes on the horizon as Gabby Moore tries desperately to get away from her controlling husband in Kyle and can hopefully get her happy in the arms of Marcel Ward.
Shanora Williams tackles a very tough subject and writes it thoughtfully enough that we more than get the gist of what Gabby is going through that at times it truly made me wince. But I feel it was necessary to fully understand what this fierce woman has gone through. Gabby is no pushover, however, and this book is most certainly her story as she stands up for herself and is ready to claim the man who will forever protect her mind, body and soul.
There are many emotions that I felt while reading The Man I Need. I was happy that Gabby found her strength to set her life course straight and was also immensely proud of the way she handled everything thrown at her. She showed true courage and determination not to be a victim any longer. And had the wherewithal to fully embrace her love for Marcel, as he stands back a bit and remains her rock.
Little Thing and Mr. Ward prove to be a formidable force against the power that Kyle continues to try to wield over them and I was thrilled they could finally see the light at the end of a very dark tunnel as their story came to an end.
This is not an easy read but the special moments between Gabby and Marcel, the ones where Gabby shows her true backbone and the ones between Gabby and Teagan make it all worth it. I was impressed at how Williams brought to light something that sadly affects many women in the world by showing us that there is always a way out, and that we are stronger than we may think.
This is Gabby’s show for sure and she handles everything she encounters with a grace that certainly made all of those loved ones around her very proud. I felt extremely satisfied and grateful as the last lines were read, knowing that this difficult story needed to be told. It may cause a trigger for some and Williams thoughtfully puts a disclaimer at the very beginning of the book.
Well worth your time, The Man I Need, together with The Man I Can’t Have is a powerful duet that I happily give a solid 5 stars!
I feel like this duet is Shanora’s strongest writing to date.
I cried, I laughed, I squirmed. She gave me plenty of emotion to go with the heat in this one and there were moments that I had to put the book down and take a moment. There are some really tough subjects covered in this book and the author does it in a really respectful way. You get the heat and sexiness you expect from one of her books but this one gave me more – it gave me characters I truly connected with and was fully invested in them getting their HEA.
It was the perfect ending to this series. I felt was on an emotional roller coaster reading this book I couldn’t put the book down. Shanora did an amazing job writing this book. I fall more love with both characters, it was great seeing how finally Gabby found her strength. I loved how Marcel never give up on fighting for what he wanted. It was perfect ending to Marcel and Gabby story.
Great conclusion! If you are looking for something forbidden and emotional, I recommend this series. This book was about triumph and coming out the other side stronger. I enjoyed it!

5 beautiful Stars!!! Marcel, Marcel… Where are thou Marcel??!! Lol I just have to say, I need me a Marcel. He’s a big romanticist!!! He’s so sweet. Always there by Gabby’s side. There’s one thing about Marcel’s life that’s really weird for me, and I’m not sure if I like it. Lol Other than that, it’s all good. Gabby really needs to stop running from her problems. But when she stands up for herself, I love it! She didn’t let her husband off easily. There were so many secrets that I was not expecting. Layers upon layers. I was hooked! The conclusion to Ward Duet is perfection!!! Highly, highly recommend it. u2063

It might be a touchy subject for some people so beware when you read it.
Book 1 end on a cliffhanger and with so many questions. Book 2 answers all those questions and more!
This story was well thought out and the reader will go through so many emotions. Shanora gives a trigger warning at the beginning of the story so we know how serious it will be before we get to into the story.
We find out the truth about Kyle; Marcel’s secrets and things family and friends may do that we never know how they will affect us until they do. We learn that we need love ones and support in our time of need; as well as we need to spend time to reflect on and learn about oneself.
I loved the way Gabby’s character is written, we see a whole picture weak and strong, a bit of immaturity and the maturity as she gets wiser.
This duet was an excellent read.
4.5 stars. This is a powerful, well written book that deals with real life situations. It was gut wrenchingly painful at times, but Gabby is a strong female that has the backing of swoon worthy Marcel by her side. Through ups and downs, Marcel and Gabby are perfect together. The ending is one they deserved and I enjoyed another great read by Shanora Williams.
This book is HARD to read. So hard to read. That being said, it is absolutely perfect in every single way. Period.
“The man I need was never the one I married.
No, the man I need is the one I was never supposed to have. He’s the one who showed me gentleness, kindness, and true love.”
This is Book #2 and the conclusion to the Ward Duet. It is necessary to read Book #1 in order to understand what is going on in this book. I thought Shanora Williams did a great job with the conclusion to the Ward Duet. There is difficult subject matter and certain triggers but Shanora writes it tastefully and honestly.
Marcel Ward is kind, strong, caring, sexy, fiercely loyal, and compassionate. He has known loss and heartbreak. Gabrielle has been through hell and back, and the only man who can save her is Marcel Ward. She is weak but brave and strong when it matters most. Can she be brave enough to conquer her demons and let Marcel give her the help he is offering?
Shanora Williams takes us on such an intense, emotional journey. It has all of the feels. There is angst, heartache, heart stopping drama, betrayal, redemption, and super steamy scenes. I rooted for this couple so hard! The plot was so good! The characters were so real. I loved it!
****ARC generously provided in exchange for an honest review.****
Amazing book! Seriously you need to read this duet! This second part had me on edge the whole time. I felt so many emotions throughout the entire book. Will Marcel be able to save Gabby? You learn there is a whole other side to Kyle and I seriously hate the man. I can’t say it enough you must read this duet!!
The Man I Need is book two and the conclusion to the Ward Duet. I really liked it. It was emotional, intense and angsty. I loved Marcel, he was just the perfect man. Marcel and Gabby had such amazing chemistry and I loved them together. They were perfect for each other!
If you read my review for book one, you already know my many differences that I had with these characters so far. Naturally, I had to finish the story because some happy ever afters needed to happen. And thankful they did, not that Shanora would ever deprive us of such a thing.
I thought this was a solid conclusion to the Ward Duet . There’s still quite some tough situations that go on between Gabby and Kyle, so the trigger warnings are still up. In this book, it became more of Gabby’s story. She’s been through so much and none of it was easy. And page after page, we’re learning so much about her and just watching the growth of her character.
The tone of this book was rather different than what we got in The Man I Can’t Have. Even with all the painful things happening, there’s a sweet side to everything especially when it comes to Marcel. He’s everything that Gabby needed at that moment in time as she’s trying to move forward from what she has endured.
I was still a bit frustrated with Gabby and the decisions she kept on making, but I’ll just sum this all up with the lack of connection that I’ve had since the beginning.
Overall, I’m happy that Gabby got the happy ending because she definitely deserved it!
**MAJOR THANK YOU TO THE AUTHOR FOR AN ADVANCED READER’S COPY. IT WAS PROVIDED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW**
The conclusion to the duet is here and Shannora did not disappoint. It gave me closure, It made me love Marcel more and at the end it gave me hope.
Remember this is the second book and in order to enjoy it, you need to read The man I can’t Have, you will not regret it. This duet is gonna make you feel all the feelings and fall in love with the characters.
Great conclusion to a beautiful story!

I read an ARC and this is my honest opinion
As someone who has been in an abusive relationship I can totally understand where Gabby is coming from. Although I do not condone cheating in relationships this is one instance that I am for the heroine.
Kyle was an ugly person from the start and as his flaws were being revealed you can see that he only cares for his well being. Anything he did to Gabby just made me sick and in this read I was all for what was happening to him.
Oh Marcel! Sweet, sweet, and patient Marcel. Although he has secrets of his own he has proven himself time and time again of wanting to be there for Gabby. The question is how much issues he is willing to take.
This was a good ending to the Ward Duet. It will have you feeling from all angles along with being afraid and hesitant to see what will happen. Admittedly there were moments that I needed to scream out my frustrations and/or take a breather to take in what was happening. This book is not one to late lightly especially if you have been in a similar situation at any point in your relationship.
Bravo Shanora you’ve done it again.
The Man That I Need was a much anticipated read after that ending in The Man I Can’t Have. And it was the perfect final instalment in this Duet.
I love the care Shanora takes with her characters, it’s what allowed me to connect with them. I love the growth and depth of the female lead Gabby, Marcel was exactly what she needed. You really need to one click baby for yourself as I don’t want to spoil the story for about one else.
Be prepared for a beautifully emotional read that will tick off all
Those questions you had in book 1. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and Duet and it’s a definite one click for me.
Rising From The Ashes
The dramatic conclusion to The Ward Duet. It pulls no punches. You will get the ugly side of humanity, but you will also see the beauty in saving yourself and fighting for the life you deserve.
Gabby is braver and stronger than she realizes and Marcel is her beacon of hope for a better life. Together they will have to fight for their HEA. Nothing worth having is easy. Everyone carries baggage. Being together won’t be easy. It’s up to them to decide if it’s worth it.
So many secrets to be uncovered. Justice to be served. And ultimately freedom to be attained to start over. This story delivers on the drama, heartache, betrayal and love. Get ready for a whirlwind of emotions. And in the end everything is as it should be.
What an empowering story, imparting strength in every chapter. It’s such a relevant subject, it needs to be read by every woman who has suffered abuse or knows a victim. I could feel my spine tingle at Gabrielle’s ordeal and her endurance. I loved the fact that shanora didn’t make her spineless pushover but gave her mettle. I love kick ass heroines.
“I know one thing for a fact now: I fell for a madman. He dove in, learned everything about me, and used it against me.”
Marcel is such an amazing supporter and a full hearted lover. He means what he says and that’s a top quality Alpha right there. A man who protects, nurtures and encourages his woman to follow her dream
“Seeing him, if only for a moment, made me realize that I can be cared about in a saner way.”
It’s a heart touching & befitting end to the Duet that has had me spellbound, very encouraging in spirit and uplifting in mood
A must read
