“Ken Follett has done it once more . . . goes down with the ease and impact of a well-prepared martini.” —New York Times Book ReviewHis name was Feliks. He came to London to commit a murder that would change history. A master manipulator, he had many weapons at his command, but against him were ranged the whole of the English police, a brilliant and powerful lord, and the young Winston Churchill … young Winston Churchill himself. These odds would have stopped any man in the world—except the man from St. Petersburg.

Excellent story and great character development
Very gripping, a page turner. Pre WWI leading into it. Fascinating, convoluted plot.
Interesting story and characters.
Well constructed, thrill a minute!
I didn’t know much about Europe and the pre-WWI era. I love history and this book was a great way to learn about how this war came to be. Follett does it again! Just wish it was longer.
Did not age well.
totally worthwhile, and unlike other authors, his books have their own (not continuing) charactors.
Another awesome spy thriller from Ken Follett!
Typical Ken Follett, with wonderful character development and storytelling.
Another Follett great read. Never disappoints.
Like many of Follett’s books, I read it straight through pretty quick. He writes in a fast-paced way that keeps you wondering what is going to happen next, and you want to hurry to find out.
Personally I didn’t like it. I read it . I always feel compelled to finish a book. But I just didn’t care for it.
It had a good storyline, but was not quite as good as I had hoped. After reading the Gentleman from Moscow (different author) and knowing that Ken Follett is a great author, I guess I was hoping for more. I do recommend it though.
Different from Follet’s norm, but I liked it a lot!
I used to read Follett years ago and his writing seems to have lost something
Usually find his books to be interesting but this was disappointing. Mildly political on a good day.
Not as good. Very predictable
I love anything by Ken follett
Fast paced and well written with compelling characters. A real page turner.
Follet is excellent in writing fiction based on historical events mixing facts with fiction. Have read several books he has written and enjoyed them all.
A disappointment for Follett who is one of my favorites. Dry, run-on sentences, boring
