This is a stand-alone novel, but if you want to journey back to Narnia, read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the second book in The Chronicles of Narnia.

Since I was in Kindergarten I’ve loved this book. It’s a simply amazing adventure to experience through reading. To put it simply? This is—and always will be—one of my very favorite books, as well as the rest of the titles in the Chronicles of Narnia.
Wonderful
Great world-building for Narnia. I like it better after the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe instead of first in strict Chronology
More aimed at a young audience with little effort to do the kind of character building required for a adult audience. Mostly, the reader is just informed about a character’s personality directly by the author as a story teller. Good prequel, though I wish it had been a bit more developed. It does give a fair window into the personality of C.S. …
Probably my favorite of the series.
I loved The Magician’s Nephew! This is the prequel to the Chronicles of Narnia series and a beautiful lead in to the classic series by CS Lewis! I highly recommend this novel!
Highly recommend C.S. Lewis stories especially The Chronicles of Narnia of which this is one of the books.
This often overlooked book in the Chronicles of Narnia series (which has never been filmed to my knowledge) is one of my favorite in it. What a great introduction to C, S, Lewis’ unforgettable world! Favorite scenes are of Aslan singing Narnia into existence (honestly, does it get any more enchanting than that?!) and the animals trying to …
According to the author, C.S. Lewis, the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia is the Magician’s Nephew. While the generally accepted belief is that the Chronicles of Narnia consists of a trilogy of books, the author identifies the Magician’s Nephew as the first book in the 7-book series.. What a tragedy. There is so much more in the …
Very imaginative and classic. C. S. Lewis’ entire Narnia series is great for old and young.
I love this book, if you ever wondered how naria came to be, this explains it all!!! I love it , so will naria fans.
I began reading this series as a way to spend more time reading with my daughters, and while I’ve read a lot of book series, this one hadn’t yet made it into my queue. The book is a little more on the challenging side to read out-loud since it’s written in an older and more formal style of English, which my daughters are not very familiar with. I …
Can’t believe it has taken me this long to read this book. I love it.
I really liked this book. It’s about these two kids who learn about how magic works in our world and in others. It’s the first book of the Narnia series and you may have read the second, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. You should really read them both, but definitely start with The Magician’s Nephew. I bet you’ll enjoy it. Happy reading, my …
Two children from our world get tricked into traveling to magical worlds. But one stop is a world that is just forming and appears to be run by a lion…. A bit slow, and honestly I think it’s best read in the order written (sixth), but still a fun tale filled with magic and adventure.
