#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
The stunning conclusion to the bestselling Magicians trilogy
Quentin Coldwater has been cast out of Fillory, the secret magical land of his childhood dreams. With nothing left to lose he returns to where his story began, the Brakebills Preparatory College of Magic. But he can’t hide from his past, and it’s not long before it comes looking for him.
Along with Plum, a … him.
Along with Plum, a brilliant young undergraduate with a dark secret of her own, Quentin sets out on a crooked path through a magical demimonde of gray magic and desperate characters. But all roads lead back to Fillory, and his new life takes him to old haunts, like Antarctica, and to buried secrets and old friends he thought were lost forever. He uncovers the key to a sorcery masterwork, a spell that could create magical utopia, a new Fillory–but casting it will set in motion a chain of events that will bring Earth and Fillory crashing together. To save them he will have to risk sacrificing everything.
“The Magician’s Land” is an intricate thriller, a fantastical epic, and an epic of love and redemption that brings the Magicians trilogy to a magnificent conclusion, confirming it as one of the great achievements in modern fantasy. It’s the story of a boy becoming a man, an apprentice becoming a master, and a broken land finally becoming whole.

The final challenges for each character and choices of being true to self or not, applying what they have learned through their peresonal voyages or not, to make choices for those they love or not. I thought parts slogged a bit but the overall was so satisfying and redemptive. A really great finale.
This was the perfect ending to this series. Every question is answered and every character finds their place in the world. It was a lovely finale. I highly recommend it.
This is the 3rd in this series. It starts out with Quentin trying to settle in back on Earth after being ousted from Fillory. He is still reeling from the death of Alice. He decides to take a teaching position at Brakebills and is just started to feel Happy, which is a miracle for Quentin, when his father dies. Next comes an opportunity for a …
So the ending of the Harry Potter series left a hole in all our lives – I realize Rowling is still trying with the new series, but I havn’t even seen the latest one, that’s how un-impactful the new movies were on me. So sad, right? And then I found The Magicians by Lev Grossman (The Magician’s Land being the third book in the Trilogy). Wow – …
The writing is very good and I enjoy. It needs to move forward faster.
Shame the series ended. The writing and story just got better and better.
terrific
Read all of the books in this series, really want more, but awesome use of magic and imagination!
wonderful book, I highly recommend the whole series
One of the most enjoyable series of books I’ve read.
I really like how it’s a grown up world with magic, but the characters are still super screwed up bc they don’t want or know how to adult.
I loved this series of books. I also loved the TV series.
I was a bit worried about how it could all work out, but this was truly satisfying and believable within the parameters of this type of fiction.
Thanks, Lev!
love this imaginative series
I wanted this book to continue. Sorry it had to end.
