Murder travels nicely in this popular mystery series featuring expat Maggie Newberry who lives in France with her winemaker French chef new husband. Enjoy the sights and smells of Provence, the Côte d’Azur and Paris as Maggie uses her amateur (and very American) sleuthing skills to detect and confront some of the vilest murderers on the continent!
Good for time pass; no more!
I liked the French settings for the stories but Maggie annoyed me…always running off to “solve” a crime. And then there’s Laurent, the enigmatic husband/ ex-con. I’m still trying to figure out how all that came about as well as how he “just knows” things and never really argues with Maggie about all the running around which is resolved with “a …
Love this author, read the entire series!
Love Maggie
Maggie and Laurent find some great mysteries to dig into as they make their way in their relationship. I appreciate that their relationship is a bit more realistic in that not everyday is all roses and sunshine. They always find a way to reach a common ground though.
some French language
Really enjoy the south of France and the characters! Interesting stories.
These French mysteries were ery entertaining and did a great job of placing you in Provence.
Entertaining light reading. Holds the reader’s interest.
Very enjoyable series
The backdrops of France add so much to these stories. They take me back to some great adventures in France and make me smile.
Life of an ex-pat and her quirky French husband is always like real life ups and downs but with a murder mystery to solve. Nice to see bits of French words to jiggle my old brain to days of high school Frenc
I have read a lot of her books (several different series) and I enjoy her style of writing and her characters.
Love this series. Plan to read more!
Loved reading this set of 3 books about Maggie and her ability to get involved in solving murders. While each book stands alone it was interesting to follow her life with Laurant as they marry and start a family. Lots of complex and interesting characters are included so it’s impossible to predict the outcome.
I really enjoyed all three of these novels, loved they took place in France, and it was fun to watch the characters grow in their experiences from the first to last book.
I love this series
A roller coaster read set mainly in France, keeps you guessing to the end!
Not my cup of tea. The plot is weak and the characters are not very likable.
Totally entertaining, a bit intense but resolved reasonably well. Makes me glad I don’t live in France, wouldn’t mind visiting. A few diverting plot twists.
