I have read the other books in this series but I would consider these standalones. None of them have anything to do with the previous books. That being said, I really enjoyed this book. The plot isn’t complicated but it still kept my interested. The characters could not be more different but they work well together despite major betrayals. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Not for me
The Luxembourg Betrayal is the sixth book in the An International Legacies Romance series and is the story of Luca and Demetria. I was not sure what to say about this book in my review so I waited a long time to write this. I have read several books in this series by this author and have really liked them. But this one just did not do it for me and I had a hard time connecting with the main characters. Actually I had a hard time liking either of them. I am used to reading Alpha men who are protective and possessive but Luca was not with the woman he apparently loves and wants to make his again. Meanwhile Demetria does not have much of a backbone in her and it was hard to read some of what was going on in her world.
The writing was still good it was just the details of the story that I disagree with. So unfortunately for me this is a disappointment. This is only my opinion and I know that other readers will love this book so more power to them. But for me the Luxembourg Betrayal was a betrayal of my time.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I had a great time with this storyline it has a great flow. The characters are well developed and engaging from the chemistry they share to the twist and turns.

When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

This is a second chance love story between Luca and Demetria and one of my favorites books in this series. In this book we learn about how Luca and Demetria met and what went wrong in their relationship. I like the way the author brought these characters back together again after years apart. This is a well written book with believable characters and a page turning story.
I’ve loved all the books in this series that I’ve read. I love that they have strong black women as their heroine’s. Demitria is a great heroine. You really understand her insecurities and reactions that the events that happen. Luca is an awesome hero. It may have taken him awhile to get his lady but he does it with style. The villian, to me at least, was pretty obvious from the start but the twist at the end was way unexpected. Overall, a great book.

This is a great story that once again I couldn’t put down. I loved Demetria’s character & her journey to find love but with Luca not everything is smooth sailing.

4 1/2 stars
A perfect escape for the day! A great read filled with a little bit of sweet, a little bit sassy and whole lot of sexy! Just what you would expect from a Camilla Stevens book. A great hockey romance that I absolutely enjoyed reading and can’t wait to see what she writes next. Go grab your copy today. Happy reading!!
I didn’t realize this was Demetria’s Story until Zia was mentioned! I was thoroughly surprised by Demi’s softer side before love done her wrong, especially after getting glimpses of her ornery personality in previous books. I really enjoyed the journey of Demetria and Luca slowly falling in love. It was not rushed, and I knew Luca loved Demetria way before either of them ever spoke the words out loud. Several pivotal moments will have you all in your feelings.
On a side note, I loved what Demi said to the “Three Stooges” in the elevator. Read.The. Book! Being an avid reader, I thought I had all the pieces of the puzzle figured out and was pleasantly surprised to discover, I was wrong. As for a certain guardian, I never liked nor trusted this person and Demetria’s mother was a true piece of work. However, I loved Grandma!

Another wonderful and enjoyable addition to the international legacy romance series! Demetria and Luca character has great chemistry and they sizzle in and out of the bedroom. Their journey has a lot of drama, suspense, and mystery that will keep you entertained from start to finish. This book was a definite must read and I can’t wait for the next story in this series that doesn’t disappoint.
The Luxembourg Betrayal a little bit of a Bond vibe to it.
No, he’s not a spy, but he is suave, looks good in and out of his suit, has a pantie melting European accent. There’s also mystery, muder, intrigue, villains, ghosts from the past, international travel, private jets…see what I mean, Bond.
Of course there is also a young love story that ends in a betrayal, but picks up 5 years latter.
I highly recommend this series.
Happy Reading 🙂

Elaborate 5 stars – This is Demetria’s story. Luca and Demetria met five years ago and fell in love but circumstances tore them apart. Demetria was betrayed and hurt. But Luca’s story started when something happened when he was fifteen and is still affecting his life. Wow! There are a lot of twists and turns in this book. Sex was naughty and steamy. It has an elaborate plot of betrayal and deception. Finally, we get to learn why Demetria is such a serious person. Hard to put down! [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
This is another good book in this series and is well written and flows well The only criticism is the scene which is borderline rape there needs to be a warning about that. While the blurb reads as though this is the story of these two getting back together it is actually their entire story from the first meeting
When they first meet Luca Wolff is a trust fund baby about to inherit his wealth while Demetria Knight is a financial analyst serving a internship at one of the top companies in her field. He convinces her that they are meant to be together and she lets her walls down then he makes a decision that only emotionally guts her but destroys her credibility in her professional filed. Noe five years later he is determined she will be his but as he destroyed any chance he has with her.
Can true love survive where hatred forced them apart
I absolutely love Camilla’s International Legacies Romance series, and this one might just be my favorite! A chance meetup over coffee leads to a blooming relationship between Luca and Demetria, but Luca’s past is about to wield its ugly head. Will Demetria and Luca survive the fallout and will Luca prove himself worthy of Demetria? Camilla weaves a story with plot twists you will never see coming!
Camilla Stevens has done it again! I’ve been a fan of her writing for a while now and The Luxembourg Betrayal is the latest book in her International Legacies series. If you’ve read the other International Legacies books then you’ve met Demetria before. I love the sister circle of beautiful brown girls Ms. Stevens has created as well as the interconnected stories she weaves throughout their lives. When we see her interacting with her sister circle of girlfriends, some of whom have found love, Demetria comes off, at least initially, as a bit prickly and maybe a little bit love-averse, but Camilla Stevens fleshes out the character in this book. There is so much more to Demetria than meets the eye. I also love the way the author turns up the drama and mystery both in the story and between the heroine and the hero. The interaction between Demetria and Luca is spicy, in the best way. This book was so worth the read. Ms. Stevens…thank you!
I enjoyed reading this book. HOT chemistry between Luca and Demetria. I definitely recommend this book.
Demetria Knight was trying to make a good impression by volunteering to make a coffee run for her coworkers. Little did she know, that one decision would put things in motion that would drastically change the direction of her life’s plan.
Luca Wolff has had some rough times and is looking for a fresh start. He’s hoping that his time for change is coming soon, and when meets the beautiful Demetria, he feels like things are finally looking up for him and she could be a big part of it. When these two decide to give romance a try, they run into roadblocks that could turn their lives upside down and inside out literally. Only time will tell, if after the dust settles, will they be able to find their way back to each other and have a second chance at love.
The Luxembourg Betrayal was a roller coaster ride of ups and downs. Demetria and Luca’ story is full of romance sure, but the added touch of intrigue made for an exciting read of major betrayals for both the hero and heroine which made for a very engaging love story. Every time I thought I had this story all figured out, another curve ball was thrown in and I was left thinking, hmm I didn’t see that coming. I loved the twists and turns that the story line made in order for the this couple to find their HEA, and believe me they deserved it. This story has romance, mystery, and murder along with lovable characters that makes you want to jump in and help them slay all that stands in the way of them finding their happy. Well done Camilla Stevens.
This book I’m a bit torn between a 3.5 and a 4 star rating parts of it I really loved, other parts not so much.
I have read a few books from this author and the beginning of her stories usually draws you in and you are along for the ride and immersed in her writing then towards the three quarter mark is where things start to unravel and the story starts tilting towards more angst and drama and the ending leaves you feeling rushed, she does try to wrap things up with an epilogue or two to give you some closure.
Demetria and Luca meet over spilled coffee literally and things heat up from there. Because of who he was Demetria was uncertain about letting her guard down with him. And as such made Luca prove himself to her quiet a bit. These two begin a clandestine affair since he was technically her client or boss depending on how you look at it. Luca both at the beginning and the end of the story never waivered in his desire to be with Demetria which endeared him to me.
I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop as these two seemed to be reaching the pinnacle of their happiness. When it does the fallout affects them both in different ways. Unfortunately given the male dominated cutthroat financial world that Demetria was a part of she took the brunt of it. She became tainted goods and was struggling to prove herself in the financial arena after the backlash of her dismal from her internship. Combine that with a not so great home life and to say it takes everything in her to keep moving forward is an understatement.
It’s when things hit bottom is when the story started venturing out a bit into conspiracies, betrayals, revenge and redemption. This is for me when things started unraveling a bit. A lot of time was spent establishing the beginning of the story and not enough on the other half of the book. The 5 years that they were apart we get little morsels about what happened in between their re-acquaintance but we don’t really get to experience any of it. We learn that Luca was married we can read between the lines and figure out what may have happened but we get no real confirmation. Then some secrets are revealed and the story just seemed to be going off on mega tangents and for me lost it’s momentum.
Love how they eventually found their way back to each other just would have liked the story to not get so full on angst.

Demetria is an intern working in the Financial District in New York City when she meets her knight in shining armor at the local Starbucks. Luca is in the midst of trying to repair a life tainted by scandal when he falls in love with Demetria. Unfortunately, due to a series of unforeseen obstacles, their blossoming romance implodes and leaves scars that will take years to recover from.
I have to admit I’ve been disappointed by the previous books in this series but the author has redeemed herself. There were several twists and turns in the plot that kept me intrigued. Most importantly, I was invested in this couple and wanted to see them get their HEA. Demetria has been briefly mentioned before in the series so it was great to see her as a fully developed character in this book. I enjoyed reading how these characters matured as individuals and as a couple. So far, this is my favorite book in the International Legacies series.
