What would you do, if you found out your husband was secretly calling in to phone sex lines? Confront him? Throw him out? Divorce him? Nope! Instead of getting angry, curious Tara decides to start listening in on John’s steamy conversations. She can’t help herself, because her laconic husband has never shared a fantasy with his wife during their entire marriage. But it turns out he’s been leading … leading a double life, telling other women what he really wants in the bedroom! When a frustrated Tara turns to her best friend, Kelly, for advice, her much more adventurous partner-in-crime hatches a plan to bring John and Tara together. Once the trap is set, using Kelly as bait, the two women spring it on one unsuspecting man whose fantasies are about to become a very sexy reality.**Previously published as Bluebeard’s Wife p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-indent: 28.8px; font: 12.0px ‘Times New Roman’; color: #000000}

Just a little bet of reading. Need more to make a full book. Super short.
Not so much boring
Just a bunch of fantasies strung together with the bare minimum of character or storyline. Suspend your belief, and read for the kinks.
I do want you to know up front that I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review, but I promise this is an honest review on how I felt after reading it.
As I read this book, my emotions went all over the place. I related to the wife and got mad for her as she went through the stages of change she felt she needed to get her husband to share his fantasies. It’s a very realistically written book and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
Let me begin this review with a CONFESSION:
I rarely read straight erotica. I’m married and get plenty of the real thing with my wife, so what would be the point? The erotica I do usually read is gay (mm) since I never do THAT in real life… or, I should clarify, I haven’t DONE THAT since I’ve been married. Yes, I have done it (and, I admit, I enjoyed it) in the past. In my adult life, however, I only indulge in mm-gay FANTASIES (not when playing with my wife, since that wouldn’t feel right, just with my hand) getting carried away imagining various scenarios or recalling the past.
When I decided to go ahead and read “The Lustful Wife” (which is mff/mf) I was skeptical that I would enjoy it as much as my usual erotica fare. Turns out, I couldn’t have been more mistaken!
This book is FUNNY. Consider, for example, this line:
“A part of me protested that this was my husband, that I shouldn’t be listening, I should be hunting him down with a frying pan….”
This book is SWEET. Example:
“When I just came out and directly asked him who he fantasized about, he smiled and touched my cheek, and said, “You.””
This book is INTRIGUING.
“He seemed willing enough to go along with things if they were my idea, but he wasn’t volunteering anything.”
This book is SENSUAL.
““I love listening to you touch yourself,” I whispered.”
This book is HOT and has SULTRINESS. Example (although really there are too many examples, but this one pretty much sums them all up):
“Kelly smiled. “Sometimes when it feels wrong, it’s really, really right.””
The pillow-talk in “The Lustful Wife” (both on the phone or in the bed) is OFF THE CHARTS. It’s good, realistic, fun, and involves all the senses. Very well-written. The author does an amazing job with it all. Including, to my surprise, the ff-gay scenes. Perhaps for the same reason that most women don’t get into erotic mm-gay scenes, I’m a guy who doesn’t get into erotic ff-gay scenes… until, that is, this book! So I’m thinking it had to be the skill of the author that made me like something I normally don’t: reading about two women doing it with each other. Selena Kitt made it interesting, enjoyable, relatable, hot. Although, in “The Lustful Wife”, there aren’t any mm-gay scenes, I bet she could write an erotic mm-gay scene that even most women would love. I can tell, from this first-time reading of her work, that she is that talented.
Basically (and finally) I just can’t say enough good things about this book to do it justice. It’s great! No… it’s the MOST EXCELLENT erotica you’ll read… PERFECT, to the very last sentence. I give it as many stars as possible, because this book deserves them all. It is well worth every penny and more. (By the way, I began this review with a confession and I now conclude it with another: I received “The Lustful Wife” as an ARC through booksprout, but I am always honest in my reviews, even when reviewing as an ARC reader. I neither know nor, as far as I’m aware, have I ever read anything by the author Selena Kitt prior “The Lustful Wife”). I’ve written many reviews but I do not give a book the maximum number of stars unless I truly believe it is a book I’d want to read more than once… a book that I think merits some sort of writing award. That’s just the way I am about my reviews. No point in praising a book more than it deserves. Who would trust any review I write unless it’s an honest opinion I’m giving.
