A widow in a mansion. Dark secrets. And poison, deadly poison.
After amateur detective Molly Sutton stumbles on a dead body, she wastes no time before eavesdropping and elbowing her way into conversations all over the French village of Castillac. But when Chief Dufort is about to clap handcuffs on the wrong man, she’s got to do more than chat to save him. Will she have the stuff—and the skill—to … the stuff—and the skill—to pull it off?
The Luckiest Woman Ever is the second book in the Molly Sutton Mystery series. (Though you learn more about Molly and her friends reading the books in order, the mysteries are standalone.) If expertly woven cozy mysteries, characters with depth, and detectives with a taste for French food are your thing, Nell Goddin’s tales of murder will be right up your alley.

Very enjoyable story, good character development. The town is as much a part of the story as the townspeople. Well done!
Have read all of the books in this series and enjoy them all. Interesting, uncomplicated and fun.
Well written. Very enjoyable characters and story.
Enjoyable read. Liked getting to know the characters and the French city it took place in.
I enjoyed this story of an American trying to start over in a new country, in a new language. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
A fun read for a quick trip to France.
Like!
I love Molly and her adventures!
This was a “good enough” read. It kept me reading, because it was well plotted I followed up with 3 more in the series. But I became more and more disenchanted with Molly Sutton and her sidekick Frances. Both seemed shallow and relatively self centered. Have decided not to continue with the series.
Another bit of silliness which lightens your heart. No great plot, but sweet and you wind up feeling happier.
I read this book because I enjoy cozy mysteries. This is on the border of cozy mystery and just a regular mystery. I did enjoy it though and bought the 2nd book in the series because I enjoyed the main character and all the French locations and vocabulary. After reading the 2nd book, I really enjoy the homey feel of the Castillac community and all the wonderful characters.
the book was entertaining but in serious need of editing. the ending left much to be desired. there were 2 murders and one attempted murder. but only one was solved and a reason for the 1st murder was never given
Realistic characters, fun plot. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
could not stay interested, but finished the book. Maybe I will try another by this author.
The entire series is worth reading. Fun to become acquainted with the samll French town and its inhabitants.
Cute cute cute
This book not only told a good story but transported me to a small French town as viewed by a new resident from the USA. Very enjoyable.
I enjoyed this tale and the characters are drawn realistically. I wish I could pack up and move to this village in France! I look forward to more Molly Sutton adventures!
Interesting and relatable characters, clever plot, and an enjoyable read from beginning to end.
For those who love France, this is a bon-bon. Great use of French idioms throughout. I loved the main character and her personality. Could have been a story about her life without a murder, and I would have loved it anyway.
