A widow in a mansion. Dark secrets. And poison, deadly poison.
After amateur detective Molly Sutton stumbles on a dead body, she wastes no time before eavesdropping and elbowing her way into conversations all over the French village of Castillac. But when Chief Dufort is about to clap handcuffs on the wrong man, she’s got to do more than chat to save him. Will she have the stuff—and the skill—to … the stuff—and the skill—to pull it off?
The Luckiest Woman Ever is the second book in the Molly Sutton Mystery series. (Though you learn more about Molly and her friends reading the books in order, the mysteries are standalone.) If expertly woven cozy mysteries, characters with depth, and detectives with a taste for French food are your thing, Nell Goddin’s tales of murder will be right up your alley.

If you love cozy cottage mysteries but in a foreign land..this book is for you. Grab a croissant, a glass of wine, and prepare to be delighted. Developed characters, great setting and a real mystery to be savored.
Thoroughly enjoyed this 2nd in the Molly Sutton series. Having it set in a French village as an expat helps set a nice stage.
I read the first three books…would like to read the rest of the Molly Sutton series. Reading for pleasure should be just that … a pleasure. The characters are quirky but I would like to hang out with them. Molly Is nosy, smart and fun.
I really enjoy the setting in France.
Good for light reading. Doesn’t require much brainpower.
Well worth the read
Lots of fun!
A detective story full of bad detective work, like the police inspector not stopping a character coming out of the victim’s house. Has the author lived in an ancient French village? The streets are NOT divided into blocks.
I generally liked Molly and it is a good cozy read.
I enjoyed reading the second book even more.
Average mystery.
I liked it from the start
This is my second book that I have read by this author and once again I enjoyed it. Even though there is murder in this small town, it still makes me want to go and rent a room with the main character.
An easy read!
I did not read the first book in this series. I felt disinterest with the characters and plot until about half way in the story, then It had my interest. I don’t know if this would have be different if I had read the first book. I did not know the background story of why the main character moved to France from the US. It was a bit annoying to me for the friend that was staying with the main character to constantly say she did not know what people were saying since she did not speak French. I really would have remembered that if only told it once.
I think the story was fine, nothing extra special. I received this book as a free kindle version. I will not be reading the rest of the series.
Loved reading it!
Totally enjoyed
This is the 3rd book in this series I believe and I am thoroughly enjoying them. I love the characters in the town and the pace of the story. I am certainly going to keep reading the other books in this series. I feel like I’m really settling in to this small village in France and learning the quirks of the people who live there. That adds a whole layer of depth to the stories that stand on their own. The writing is good and witty and the characters feel well thought out. I have enjoyed the 3 books I’ve read so far.
Great read!
This was new author for me and was pleasantly surprised
