My opinion of this extremely well written book, is that it’s a good book when it comes to learning a lot about each character and their perspective. The book is a bit tricky, jumping from character to character but still extraordinary. As you learn to love the characters, you’ll find that what happens might be a bit upsetting. A real tear-jerker! …
Absolutely heartbreaking and tragic, but also beautiful and amazing. No words could really do this one justice, so read it!
I couldn’t put it down. I read this book years ago and still remember everything. I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen and nothing turned out as I expected or wanted but it was still one of the best books I had ever read.
hard to read but really unique plot and voice.
Awesome book.
The book just drags. I know my opinion is not popular, but I just didn’t care for it. I tried….but I gave up about 3/4 of the way through. I’ve often thought about going back and finishing, but there’s plenty of other books out there that I’ve loved.
Heartbreaking but so well written, it’s worth the hurt.
Interesting, just not my cup of tea. I would recommend only because it is well written and I am sure someone else will enjoy it.
I’m not sure why it took me twice picking up this book before I could finish it; must have been the place I was in – but I enjoyed it very much the second time around. A well-paced, interesting perspective from a girl in heaven seeing how her family copes after her murder.
The previous paragraph was my review left elsewhere – what a tease. This …
One of the aspects about the set-up of the novel that I appreciate is that the narrator, Suzy, states from the beginning that she has already been murdered. While I like suspense, I do not like to read gore; it’s just too upsetting. She watches her family as they fall apart as evidence is found of a violent end to her life, and she tries to …
Beautifully written
I read it ages ago but I own it
This was an amazing book with a sympathetic, if unusual narrator. The writing is crisp, the plot is unusual and interesting, the characters are vivid and haunting. The entire book has an undertone of sadness and regret.
The h was killed by her neighbor who was a creep after agreeing to see his hideaway where he rapes , kills & cuts her body up. She describes how her family struggles to come to terms with not finding her & coming to terms with her death. He dies at the end. Sad & not worth the effort to read.
So haunting in regards to the point of view the story is told from. This was just horrifying enough, realistic enough, and gripping to take you to the end. You will cry and you will remember this book years from the time you put it down.
Very sad but a very interesting read.
I read some time ago but remember thinking about what a great book it was. I loved the main character and the lengths he would go to save the children. I highly recommend this book.
One of the most interesting takes on a crime story and how the crime affects each family member. This book stayed with me long after reading, an to this day, I still imagine what ‘my heaven’ will be like.
Lots of good parts, but it seems to get “lost” in more than one area for some reason
