Meadow Lexington and Dexter Greene have been best friends their whole lives. They had each other’s backs through thick and thin, through devastation and happiness. Nothing could ever tear them apart. After a drunken night of passion, Meadow thought for sure everything had changed between them for the better. The next morning had to be something out of a horror movie or a cheesy romance novel. It … novel.
It had to be.
There was no way her best friend wouldn’t remember what they shared, what they confessed the night before… right?
Wrong.
Meadow needed a plan. A plan to help show her best friend that she was the one he loved.
That he could love her.
But what Meadow never realized was that old painful memories would arise, possibly blowing her plan out of the water.
Would Dexter ever accept that he is worthy of her heart?

All books are excellent and this is not the exception! You can’t get tired reading anyvthing written by this author!!!
Friends to lovers story with two friends that have been through thick and thin together and even act like an old couple. We get to see Meadow’s and Dexter’s past, growth, questionable choices and finally realizing the way they feel about each other.
Some angst, not really rom-com if you ask me and pretty sweet.

An adorable friends to lovers read! The Love Plan is chock full of emotion, sweetness and swoon. I really did love how perfectly cute Meadow and Dexter we’re together. Even as just friends that were already practically the perfect couple despite the fact Dexter was living deeply in the land of denial.
When one drunken night confirms the love they have to Meadow, but leaves Dexter remembering nothing finally pushes her to take steps to show him they belong together things turn into a roller coaster of emotion. With Meadow deeply in love and Dexter oblivious and denying his feelings even to himself you can already guess s#*t is going to hit the fan.
There were times I just wanted to shake Dexter and yell “OPEN YOUR EYES YOU IDIOT!” but the man is so charming and sweet I just couldn’t resist loving him despite him having his head buried in the sand. Where Dexter occasionally frustrated me to no end Meadow had me wanting to give her a hug. She was so madly in love with him and frankly much more patient than I could have been.
This is an amazing story of two friends transitioning from friendship to romance. I absolutely loved the roller coaster ride of Dexter and Meadow. They’ve been friends since they were babies and have such a strong connection that you just know their love turned romantic could be a once in a life time love. I adored their bond and the way they were with each other from the very first page. It is wonderfully written and I couldn’t put the book down once I picked it up. It has the perfect balance of humor, romance, angst, and happiness. I highly recommend reading it if you haven’t already done so.
I really enjoyed this book. The sweet and funny is well balanced with angst and heartache. The slow burn romance that unfolds between best friends Meadow and Dexter, will not only make your heart melt, it will make you swoon. A delightful read that will have you rooting for this couple as your own emotions go on a rollercoaster ride.
A joy to read. Such a sweet book. I couldn’t put it down. The author showed such care and love describing her characters, not just the young couple’s but the supporting characters also. Meadow and Dexter have known each other since they were babies and at the age of 24, they are still best friends, confidants and soul mates. Their love and devotion to each other runs deep and Meadow is the first to realise that she feels more for Dex than just a friendship. Dexter fights his feelings, he is in denial and grappling with his guilt over the death of his cousin, Wes who was the third member of their pack growing up. Wesley died six years ago in a car accident leaving both Meadow, who was his girlfriend at the time and Dex, devastated. From that moment he becomes a self-appointed guardian and critic/judge of every boy Meadow meets. No one is good enough for his Meadow, Poor Mem is beside herself and goes from hope, even through deception to try to nudge Dex’s feelings, to defeat. It is interesting that the point when Meadow feels she has no more fight left is the point when Dex finally realises that he will lose Meadow unless he addresses issues which hold him back. Love is such a complex emotion and the author has dealt with the emotional turmoil of our young couple brilliantly. We are such complex creatures and it is our emotions that we are the least clear about. The story is interesting, shows great humanity, there isn’t a scene which would be pointless to the plot. At times I felt like shaking Dexter into reality. We are nevertheless rewarded with a HEA and some real scorching sizzlers towards the end. There is also a good advice for guys, if you find a woman who will eventually forgive you for forgetting by the morning that you had sex with her the night before, MARRY HER!
The book was aided by precise editing, and I don’t say that lightly. I put the book into my favourites. Such an enjoyable read with humour where it was needed..

Meadow and Dexter are best best friends for years and they even live together so one night of hot passionate love he tells her how he really feels and she is beyond happy that he feels the same way she does. Come morning he claims he can’t remember a thing about the night before and Meadow is heartbroken. Then the games begin as she tries to entice him and he tries to keep her at arms length. Wonderful book with great characters.

A refreshingly unique take on the classic friends to lovers romance trope, The Love Plan is a mix of humor, heart and heartache. The story follows Meadow and Dex, two best friends who get drunk and end up sleeping together. They profess their love for each other, and everything seems great until Dex wakes up with no memory of the night before. Meadow remembers everything, and now that she knows that Dex secretly harbors romantic feelings for her, she is determined to get him to admit how he feels – without revealing that they’ve already taken their relationship to the next level.
I really loved the first half of this book – the relationship between Meadow and Dex is so endearing, their foundation so solid that it’s obvious to everyone but Dex that they belong together. There is humor and fun, mixed with some pretty intense steam (though fans of slow burn romance will appreciate that this is essentially a slow burn romance except for the initial hookup). The back half of the book is much more emotional, with some significant angst, but it’s necessary to drive the relationship forward. Personally, I preferred the first half of the book, but the obstacles set in their path only prove how solid their relationship is. Overall, it’s a very fulfilling, somewhat light romance that’s well written and full of chemistry.

Wow! This may be my newest favorite friends-to-lovers story! I am so in love with Dex and Meadow! This was a very well written story, I was sucked in from the very beginning! There were parts I actually cried, but overall I completely fell in love! FIVE STARS!!
Dexter and Meadow started out as friends. Meadow’s feelings went deeper as time went on and she tried to get Dexter to reciprocate. After their drunk one nighter, Meadow was hoping he felt the same. She tried everything to get him to reveal his true feelings. When he couldn’t say the words she wanted to hear, she was willing to give up the chance at love to keep the friendship. He finally realized his feelings before it was too late. I love this story line!
The book is a good sweet romantic comedy read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable friends to lovers romance read.
This was a fantastic friend’s to lovers romance and I enjoyed every last page. I really liked both Dexter and Meadow these two were just great likable characters best friends since they were little it took both of them a while to realise their feeling had grown into more. This is a super book to curl up with I really enjoyed it.

Dear Lawd, what a story! This is the first book by Marselas that I have read, and I loved it! The Love Plan by Erica Marselas is an incredible story about friendship, heartache and love. I was simply bowled over by the story that I couldn’t put it down. The characters are realistic and fresh and just made me want to be part of the circle of friends that are in the story. With some humorous plans and playful banter, The Love Plan by Erica Marselas is a great 5-star book.
What do you do when you have been in love with your best friend and he doesn’t love you back? Meadow Lexington and Dexter Greene have been in each other’s lives since they were six months old, the best friends have endured everything together from tragedy and heartbreak to every birthday and Christmas. After one crazy night Meadow thinks that Dexter has finally opened up about his feelings towards her and they spend the night together, only to have Dexter not remember the next day. Now Meadow has to work through the pain of his rejection and come up with The Love Plan to end all plans that will bring her and Dexter together forever and ever and not just as friends.
Dexter and Meadow have been friends forever, literally since they were 6 months old. They are so close that they actually bought a town house together and look like the perfect couple. Only they’re not a couple. After a drunken night together, Meadow assumes their relationship will change, but it soon becomes clear that Dexter has no memory of what happened. Meadow tries flirting, wearing skimpy clothing and generally throwing herself at Dexter, but all to no avail. As a last resort, Meadow enlists the help of her friends and formulates ‘The Love Plan”. This was a quick, fun, easy read rom-com that moved along at a good pace.
I loved this sweet friends-to-lovers romance. It’s the perfect blend of sweet, sexy, and adorable that’s filled with emotion with this couple made for each other. I couldn’t put it down as Meadow tried to get her best friend since childhood to realize he loves her. More than once I wanted to reach inside my kindle and shake the hero for not being able to see what was right in front of him. I can’t recommend this book enough especially if you love friends-to-lovers romances.
I received this an ARC and LOVE all of Erica’s books.
Meadow and Dexter have been friends since they were babies. They have been in each others lives forever and have endured a huge loss. Together they survived, because they had each other.
We forward to Meadows birthday party and Dexter arrives with the sweetest gifts. All their friends can see that there is more than friendship with these two, but Meadow and Dexter hide their true feelings..afraid to lose each other.
They always say a drunk man’s babble is a sober mans truth… this has never been truer between Meadow and Dexter at the end of her party. They share a very steamy night together, but… the next morning Dexter does not remember anything passed the shots they shared..
Meadow now makes it her mission to tease him and show him what he’s missing by using a friend to make him jealous.
Unfortunately it backfires since Dexter won’t admit his feelings as he thinks he is betraying his cousin who Meadow dated and had been killed by a drunk driver. He has not told anyone about these feelings, including his family.
Things get rough for the pair as Meadows plan backfires and she is the one who gets hurt and instead of having Dexter to lean on, he is the one she needs to distance herself from.
Finally Dexter comes to terms with his feelings and confronts old demons and new ones so he can love forward and let his heart finally lead him in the right direction.
Erica’s writing is exceptional and I enjoy every story I read.
Can’t wait for more
This was a super cute friends to lovers romance, with a healthy dose of that amazing angst that I’ve come to expect from Erica’s books. The thing I like the most about her writing is how adaptive she is. I never feel like I’m reading a new spin on an old trope, or like I’m reading more of the same thing. Every book she writes is new and fresh, and it keeps me coming back for more. Can’t wait to see what’s next, Erica!
A Must Read Love Story
The Love Plan started out hilarious then became touching, bittersweet, romantic then a hilarious again for Dex and Meadow’s HEA. Needless to say this storyline takes you on an emotional roller coaster. All the characters are well developed, dynamic and play off so well against each other no matter how big or how small their rolls are. Even Lady, the rescue dog plays her roll perfectly in a pivotal scene. The interaction between Meadow and Dex is funny, touching and sexy as they are charged with exploring the whole concept of going from childhood friends to lovers in their twenties and having to deal with the death of Wes, their best friend who was also Meadow’s boyfriend. A heavy subject but dealt with beautifully.
Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.
I am leaving this review for your consideration. Peace.
As a new reader to Marselas I wasn’t quite sure what I’d be getting into with her new release, The Love Plan, which focuses on a best friends to lovers story. Now, you know best friends to lovers stories are my jam. So I was so excited to read this one and am now happy to report is was just as amazing as I had hoped.
Marselas created a slow burn romance between childhood besties Dexter and Meadow. Having went thru their entire lives together these two don’t realize they are more than friends until it’s right in front of them. While Dexter tries to deny his feelings, Meadow sets out on a sweet, fun, and almost hopeless plan to woo her roommate. The sexual tensions between these characters is on point. While they act like an old married couple, their romance is anything but as they tiptoe that line between admitted feelings and stepping out of their friendship zone.
As a new readers of Marselas I can easily say I’d one click again based on The Love Plan. Her stories are heartfelt, swoon worthy and chock full of that good ole emotion that really makes me return as a reader. Although Dexter kinda made me want to flip my lid by being over oblivious, I totally enjoyed this friends to lovers stories. All the characters were fun, witty and loveable. I hope this one continues with their best friends.
