All he wanted to do was sell his furs and go home, but the call of Camelot was too much for him to resist in this thrilling new book in the King’s Tale series. Arthur, Lancelot and Guinevere are strong, compelling characters that easily draw readers into the story and then refuse to let go. The characters are the stuff legends are made of as they live an adventure that holds readers in its grasp with lots of thrilling suspense and a sense of expectation. The romance blossoming between Arthur and Guinevere is sweet but it is so not a good idea, so the relationship is quite adventurous on its own with lots of sizzling chemistry that has sparks flying. Guinevere is a heroine that readers can really sink their teeth into and Arthur is full of that bad boy attitude that breaks hearts and readers can’t help but lose their hearts to them both when secrets are revealed and their respective situations kind of flip flop from one to other.
The fast paced and smooth flowing plot has an air of adventure and mystery that keeps readers glued to the pages as the danger they face escalates and Merlin’s entry into the story starts the ball rolling adding even more excitement. The author paints such vivid imagery with her story telling that readers can easily imagine the time, the magic, the adventure and the romance of this spellbinding King’s Tale.
Highly entertaining, sweetly sexy, action packed romantic adventure filled with hard choices and undeniable passion…. really enjoyed the heart pounding twist and turns this creative retelling of Arthur and Guinevere’s journey. Was a thrilling read that was very hard to put down.
This was a stunning masterpiece! It was intense and filled with intrigue and passion. I LOVED this book sooo much. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
I really enjoyed this version of the story about Arthur, a simple hunter and fur trader, set in the time before he became King of Camelot. He met Guinevere and his entire life would be changed. She was promised to Prince Gregory, but she knew she would never find love with him. But when Arthur falls at her feet, their attraction could have devastating consequences.
Romantic and exciting, you won’t want to miss this one!
ONE INCREDIBLY AMAZING READ!!!
Whoa baby, talk about living a lie. This is one action packed, fast paced, hard hitting, nailbiting, pulse racing, heart pounding, smooth flowing, page turning bombshell that captivates from the start. All the twists and turns, unexpected circumstances and unpredictable surprises around every corner make for one enjoyable experience. As drama, deceit, lies, danger and suspense increase and tension spirals and the plot thickens you get the full scope of emotions and events. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this bad boy together beautifully. Leilani did a remarkable job bringing this read to life. Fantastic job Leilani, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
Exciting, romantic and dangerous is this episode of Arthur and Guinevere. Arthur is a simple handsome man, who is a hunter and fur trader. He meets Guinevere and his life changes in ways he does not understand. With his father’s sword and Guinevere by his side, he has to face his destiny. He is unsure of everything he is being told about in regard to his past, his royal parents who died for him, his current parents who sacrificed their lives for him and the people’s need for the rightful King of Camelot to usurp the poser who is currently king and his son. Danger follows Arthur as Morgana’s demonic army follows to kill him and those who will stand with him. Even though this episode took a while for its release, it was worth the wait. I look forward to the next episode in Arthur’s quest to reclaim and fight for the people, his rightful kingdom and for the love of Guinevere. This is an adventure in reading you don’t want to miss. You will not be dissapointed. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Fascinated
This is the sequel to “Saving the King” book. I have to say, I was captivated by the plot about King Arthur’s legend. Although not too happy about a hint of a 3rd installment and that book that isn’t available yet – because I wish it were. This story has made the legend in a more realistic setting. The plot is seamless and more romantic, esp since this is the main character’s retelling of their love story, though there are glimpses about Lancelot’s too. The author’s world building is great, palpable even, as well as the character development. I will be rooting for the next installment, I hope it won’t be too long. Highly recommended for medieval romance buffs out there.

The Lost King by Leilani Love is book Two in A King’s Tale series. This is the story of Arthur & Guinevere. I have read the previous book ‘Saving the King’ (and Loved it) but feel you can do this as a standalone if that is what you wish to do.
This book and series are retakes of the King Arthur story….although this is my favorite one. I am a big fan of Ms. Love’s writing so I look for her books always. I know just like this book that I will be getting a great story and a chance to get a break from life by falling into her books. This is a romance story but also adds so reading excitement story line.
Would high recommend Ms. Love’s writing and of course this book!
Allow a weekend for this adult retelling of Guinevere, Arthur, and how they came to be together. Plenty of action and some spicy scenes.

I didn’t know what to expect when i started, but i loved this book from start to finish. The emotions and storyline were well written.
Fun, FANTASTIC, and fraught with peril! A SPICY steamy MUST-BUY!
“THE LOST KING,” the second installment in author Leilani Love’s romantic retelling of the Legend of King Author and the Round Table is OUTSTANDING. Love’s prose is smooth, flowing, and easy to read, allowing readers to focus on the amazingly realistic “historical” figures of the Round Table Legend, and some extra characters which add a freshness to Love’s retelling of the tale. There’s a novelty to the story that Love’s words weave that have rapidly made “THE LOST KING” my favorite retelling, at least so far . . . . but there is a third part to be released very soon, and I can hardly wait! Like “Saving the King” before it, “THE LOST KING” is more than worth the time and cost of admission. It may even develop fans of those who were failed by the Twain, Hollywood, and Broadway renderings of King Arthur! And unlike those versions, “THE LOST KING” is basically a love story, the romance between Arthur and Guinevere. It’s a slow burn to some first love STEAM, and so worth the wait! While I voluntarily read an ARC copy of “THE LOST KING” to prepare this honest voluntary review, I also plan to purchase a copy of “THE LOST KING” to support a very talented author, and to place it in the FAVORITES collection of my Kindle. So, if you have ever been a fan of any retelling of King Arthur’s story or are a fan of well-written romance in general, then I STRONGLY suggest that you get your copy of “THE LOST KING” today! Happy pages!
I love to read books that take place during the time frame of Kings and knights. What I really enjoyed about this book is that the 2 leading female characters are not damsels in distress. They are quite capable of taking care of themselves and helping others. I wondered how pulling Excalibur from the stone would be worked in and it was handled beautifully. I wish the book didn’t end so soon. Hopefully there will be another one to continue the story.

Excellent story but book was too short. Both books 1& 2 were less than 100 pages.
“The call of Camelot was to much for Arthur to resist.” Loved this one. Well written, and detailed. Loved the characters.

4 1/2 Stars! “The Lost King” is the second book following “Saving the King” which is a version of the story of the medieval King Arthur. I’m an instant fan! The storyline consist of vivid worlds and great characters with witty dialogue that will make you laugh and keep you reading until the end.
The story’s plot is engaging and keeps you guessing what will happen next.
My only personal negative note is that this story is a cliffhanger that expands out over a minimum of three, maybe more books. I would have loved to read all of Arthur and Guinevere’s story in one book. Then for a series I would have liked to see Lancelot’s story and possibly other books written about Arthur’s brothers.
But, that’s just my personal opinion and has nothing to do with the authors writing talent!
This is an author that fantasy lovers need to follow. I’m looking forward to the next book, to find out how this story ends or if it ends!
Happy reading!
Leilani continues to provide an expert storyline with this 2nd book in the series. An awesome plot line moves smoothly toward the next, bringing your emotions to the forefront. It’s impossible to distance yourself from the characters and you’ll find yourself rooting the characters on! I can’t wait for the next book in this story!
I have quickly come to be hooked with the story and have protested to put it down over the past days (except for needed chores or duties). The retelling of King Arthur’s story of Excalibur is one of the most known stories, which has gotten numerous renditions and remakes in different forms of media. So what makes this book stand out from them? The author was direct to the point with the narration and shows the readers two sides of the story; on Arthur and on Guinevere. The author disregarded unnecessary information or scenes and emphasized those with greater value, such as action scenes, emotional scenes, and those with recurring thoughts. I enjoyed reading this book and I am gladly looking forward to read the next one in the series (I read the first book “Saving the King” before reading this second book). The characters featured were promising, from the angelic ones, such as Guinevere, to the antagonists, such as Greggory. This book kept me on my toes each night I read it and tempted me to read till dawn, but of course I had duties to accomplish. I rated this book a 4.5 star rating since I love the characters, the story, the involvement of wolves, the style of the narration, and that it was based on a classic story. I didn’t give it a 5 stars because I think that this is only suited for a mature audience. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a retelling, historical fiction and some new adult bits.

This book was a very great depiction of King Arthur with a different perspective in all the magic that was in the book I especially love Guinevere and the story behind her backdrop I don’t want to give too much away with putting details in here that would be spoilers but if you love the Medieval Times sets and you loved King Arthur this would be a perfect read by the author’s Viewpoint of how Arthur had come to be king.

The Lost King is the second installment of a King’s Tale by Leilani Love. She has created a well written unique version of Arthur’s early years. Guinevere is not the typical damsel in distress. She is a strong female who takes action to accomplish what needs to be done. The characters are well developed and interesting. There is plenty of action, it’s fast paced with twists and turns, intrigue, and romance. It pulls you into the story and keeps you turning pages until the end. Anxious for the next book in this series. Highly recommended. Received a copy from Booksprout and this is my voluntary and honest review.
