My name is Vinna, and I’ve been keeping a lot of secrets. You would too if you’d experienced some of the weird shit I have: red-eyed monsters chasing me, markings on my body appearing out of nowhere, a strange power that crackles colorfully over my skin from time to time, and don’t get me started on the weapons I can conjure up almost out of nowhere. Lucky for me, I have yet to meet someone whose … meet someone whose ass I couldn’t kick, inside the ring or out. I put that to the test when I run headfirst into a fight that brings all my secrets, and reality as I know it, crashing down around me.
Now, I’m looking for answers and trying to piece together what the hell is going on. Paranormal is my new way of life. It’s not going to be easy, and I’m not exactly welcome.
That is, until I meet the boys, and trust me, they are anything but boyish.
I’m up against elders who think I’m too powerful, a family who views me as a threat, and something lurking in the shadows that’s been coming for me my whole life.
There’s not a chance in hell I’m going down without a fight. I’m not lost anymore, and I’m about to show this world exactly what I can do.
Author’s Note: This is the first book in The Lost Sentinel Series and ends with a cliffhanger. This book is a medium burn reverse harem story, intended for ages 18 years and older. This story contains strong language, sexual situations, and violence.

Loved this book! It completely distracted me from real life for two days. Don’t pass it up!
I absolutely loved this book. Top ten book in reverse harem. Totally unique. I lvoed every second of it.
A fantastic read, steamy and action packed. I really loved Vinna, she’s strong and compassionate, and takes no prisoners. I can’t wait to start the next book, Mia Madison’s narration was wonderful.
badass FMC, interesting paranormal world, slow-build romance RH
I adored this book to the moon and back and truly couldn’t get enough.
5 stars for The Lost and The Chosen by Ivy Asher
Ok so let me start by saying I do not know that I have ever read a more badass heroine than Vinna. The start of the book has us finding out just how awesome she truly is and we continue to learn more about what she can do throughout the whole book. She is my favorite heroine to date. Ok so now that that is out of the way . Vinna has had a rough life and been on her own since she was 15 . She has no idea what she is or what all she can really do . All she knows is that she has had these powers for awhile and that runes showed up on her body when she turned 16 . She has been part of fighting ring since Talon found her and trained her. At the end of one of her fights she comes across these men who are fighting the group that was with the guy she just fought . She helps but the tide soon turns and they are attacking her to . Then when they find out what she can truly do they release she is actually one and she is related to one of them . Only she doesn’t get the welcome she wants or needs. She is taken back to Solace where she is supposed to learn who and what she is . Then she meets The Boys as they are called. The attraction to these 5 guys is instant . The soon become more than they all expected. So much happens and none of them know what is involved until her reading . However what will happen when Vinna realises she wasn’t brought to Solace for the reasons she thought. She feels betrayal and that is something she can not deal with . Just when we think we have the answers BAM something else happens . I don’t even know what to say about the cliffhanger in this book.
I loved every page of this book . I laughed , and cried a lot for Vinna . This poor girl has been through so much and just when you think she is finally getting what she truly deserves it is ripped out from under her. I have become a huge fan of the reverse harem genre but honestly I don’t feel like that is the point in this book . I mean yes it is about her and the relationship with The Boys but that isn’t all it is about. It is about Vinna discovering what and who she really is. I am telling you this is one amazing story and I can not wait to read the next one.
Brand new author for me. Love ‘the boys’. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a steamy romance with great characters and plot. My only criticism were the editing mistakes I found throughout, though the story was strong enough to carry me through them.
Grabbed my attention from early in the book, good character development, held my attention all the way through. I finished this one at about midnight thought o my god I gotta go to bed, but I got the next one in the series before I went to bed. Peeked at the first page. Suddenly it is after 2:30 am, I finished the second one too. Be careful, these things are addictive.
Wow, this book was amazing! I picked this up browsing for new authors and I’m so glad I gave it a try. Vinna has been a fighter all her life from defending herself from the vicious woman who raised her to the cage matches where she makes her money. But she has no clue about the markings on her body or her abilities until she stumbles through a magical barrier into a fight that changes her life. She finds herself relocating to a magically hidden town where everyone has powers but even amongst other casters she’s different. When she discovers she’s the last known Sentinel it should make her feel better finally knowing what she is but it paints a bigger target on her back and the backs of the men she’s become close to. This is RH at it’s best. I laughed and cried and wanted to do it all over again at the end. Definitely check out this series.
One of the best books I ever read. Loved it. The main character was no push-over which made it a hilarious adventure.
Wow awesome start to a series. The characters, especially Vinna are fantastic. I love her sassyness and strength. The story line is creative and intriguing. I couldn’t put it down. Fantastic book.
Loved this book so, so much! Vienna is such a strong woman. Love, love ,love the way she first meets the twins. Great world building, great characters all throughout the book. Can’t wait for book 2.
Vinna is awesome – she is fierce, resilient, independent, a fighter, and owns her weaknesses. I like that she doesn’t just cave to her uncle, and continues to question and challenge those around her. I love the sisters, and her guys. I’m not sure I like her uncle or most of his coven, but I am intrigued to see where all the relationships (romantic and familial) are going to go. I can’t believe this is a debut book either, it is well written and edited.
Vinna is a likable, kick-ass heroine right from page 1 when we meet her preparing for a fight. We learn she’s earned quite a sum of money in these arranged fights, besting opponents much bigger than she is. After the battle, she stumbles on a fight outside, between Casters and shifters.
From here the story gets even more interesting as she joins the Casters in their secret town, Solace. The community of Casters and shifters live under a magical barrier hiding them from the normal human (nons) world.
I found Vinna’s immediate friendship and attraction to a group of young Casters difficult to accept at the beginning, but stick it; everything is explained and makes perfect sense. Especially now as I re-read the blurb and see the mention of a reverse harem! The title of the book also becomes clear.
There is a lot of swearing, but it fits with Vinna’s personality and feels natural. There are also a lot of sexual references, and steamy moments, thus the 18+ warning.
I loved the magic and action running through the book and especially Vinna’s ability to conjure weapons from nothing. The last few chapters flew by as I raced through to find out what was going on. The half unexpected twist at the end choked me and I shed quite a few tears before being disappointed that the story was over and I would have to wait for the next book.
I loved this book!! The characters, everything. I could not put it down. I highly recommend this book.
I devoured this until it was way past my bedtime. Did I regret only getting 4 hours of sleep? No. I just had to find out what would happen next and now I’m sad there isn’t a prequel out already.
Ok this is by far one of most favorite reads in a while. First off, Vinna is a tough badass woman. I love her strength and even her moments of vulnerability. She was lethal and just so real when she opened up with her Chosen. I want a bit more character development with each of the guys. I loved how this did not go in the direction I thought it might – this book kept my interest and had my smiling just so much. I loved the ease and banter she had with her Chosen. She didn’t need any of them to rescue her. She is not a damsel in distress, she does the rescuing.
I cannot wait to read the next book.
Ivy you have made me into a fan!!!!
Dang, this book is seriously a whirlwind of amazing characters and crazy situations. And I loved every moment! I’ll tell you, I was in tears by the end of the book.
I absolutely loved Vinna and while the book didn’t delve too much into the them, the guys are all pretty interesting as well. I was definitely not expecting what happened with her family, and it was seriously the best!
Sigh, I am way too in love with this book and it’s characters to be healthy. It got me all twisted up inside, and I cannot wait to see what happens next!
Full on book hangover! I loved it!
What a spectacular start of a series! Vinna is a kick butt heroin and her guys are smoking hot. I read it in one setting. I’ll definitely reread this book soon. I don’t know how I’m going to survive until January when the next book is supposed to come out.
I highly recommend that you get your butt in action and read this fabulous book!
I just love this series! I adore badass, confident female MC’s, who don’t need a man or men to look after her or keep her safe, but love her fiercely!
I like that it’s written in a way that empowers Vinna to be amazing without emasculating the Male characters along the way (unless it’s deserved of course!).
Vinna has had a life of struggle and hardship but it doesn’t hold her back or make her bitter. She loves with her whole heart and she makes educated, thought out decisions.
She has men around her to steer her in the new world she’s stumbled in to and quickly builds friendships/relationships with them. Each and every one of them bring something new to their relationships with her and protect her from the world she knows nothing about.
If you like PNR RH stories with badass warrior females that take no shit then you will love this series! I want to be Vinna when I grow up!
