Can two grieving souls move past loss and find redemption in love? I wasn’t always this person. I was happy. I was successful. I loved my life. But after losing my husband and unborn child, I cloaked myself in unbearable grief and guilt that threatened to destroy me. Not even my family could reach me as I spiraled into despair hiding a secret I could never share. And then he walked into my life… into my life…
Nash Wilson had faced his own darkness and come through the other side. His strength gave me hope for a second chance at love. He didn’t want to fix me. He just wanted to love me. But he was hiding secrets of his own.
Secrets I might not be able to forgive.
Secrets that could either destroy us…
…or heal us.
But we’ll both have to let go of our pasts if there is any hope for a future together.
“The Loss Between Us” is a contemporary romance that proves the power of love can shine through life’s darkest hours.

Such a well written book. Nash & Jensen have both suffered from tragedy. Nash & Jensen both save one another. This was a heartfelt read. The emotions in the book could be felt threw the pages. You wouldn’t know this is the authors debut novel. I couldn’t put the story down, I had to know if Jensen & Nash could end up together happily.
This book was everything I never knew I wanted. Two grieving souls helping each other come out the other side. The difference this book has from others, is that though it may make you cry, it will not leave you heavy hearted when you are done. For me it wasn’t a book where I went into a sadness after and couldn’t pick up another book for a day or two. The bond that forms between Nash and Jensen while they share their lives together as friends is a bond most people don’t get to feel in their lifetime. This book also has some twists and turns that will keep you reading it, not wanting to put it down. I received this book in a subscription book box and I’m so glad I did or I don’t think I would have found it!
I’ve been processing my emotions since finishing last night. I want to start with saying that Ms. McBride has a new reader with me.
The Loss Between Us had me pondering so many questions:
1) what would I do if in Jensen’s shoes?
2) how could I go on?
I could continue with questions but I want to share my thoughts. I had so many feels while reading. Yes, this is fiction and you may be saying “how can you have emotions/feels from a work fiction?”….that my fellow readers is a fantastic example of an author who can transport her readers into the story and make you believe/feel/experience everything that the characters are.
I was drawn to Jensen as a strong, fierce and broken woman. We meet her at the lowest that any person can be after experiencing the loss she did. Nash comes into her life at the exact moment she needs someone……to help her and be her strength.
I was thankful that my friend, Amber, had already this because I needed her support. She was on the receiving end of PM’s from me because I needed a buddy.
I want to talk about the writing now…..as I was chatting with my friend, she informed me that this was Ms. McBride’s first book….I was shocked!!! The writing is beautiful, it’s heart wrenching…..there was a point I had to take a break because if I didn’t, I would have started crying….now, I don’t shy away from crying while reading, but this time I did because I was on my lunch break at work!!!! Now, I want to share a few of my favorite passages:
“I have to continue to breathe and survive this day”
“Don’t worry I’ve got you”
“The Loss Between us can’t define who we are”
This is why I read. Thank you Ms. McBride for sharing your words with the us.

This is such an emotional journey! I loved this heartfelt and tragic story. It’s a captivating story from the very beginning until the very end. Your heart just breaks for everything Jensen goes through. Her family and friends only wanted to her but ended up hurting her more. I love Jensen and Nash! I don’t agree with how his hid certain facts from her but I think his heart was in the right place. This is a great story about the struggle to heal and recover from loss but also finding hope, joy and love. It does come with an eventual happy ending.
This is a new Author to me a well written story that deals with the after effects of death of the man you love. This book was handled in a caring way, I can relate to what Jensen is going through and it does not help when someone tells you to get on with your life, in their time not yours. I am glad she meet Nash and they both could help each other with their loss. I recommend this book.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Can I give this more than 5 stars??? This was the most emotional book I’ve ever read, and it seemed to take forever, mostly because I had to step back to absorb what I read. Jensen lost her husband, and then miscarried the day of his funeral. She meets Nash at a bereavement group, and they start doing their own healing thing. I wanted to strangle him when he revealed his deception to her. He realized his feelings for her, but she was in denial about how she felt about him. It was a long journey, but they finally figured it out, and it was indeed a very happy ending.

Sometimes you just need a book that gives you ALL the feels! The Loss Betwen Us did just that!! I could not put this book down. It was so good from beginning to end. I cried with Jen and Nash and I laughed with them. I don’t know how I would act if I had everything happen to me that Jen did. She is the strongest character I have ever read about. I’m so glad I took a chance on this author!!! I also hope she continues to write because she done an amazing job!
My heart took a beating in this read but it was so worth it. At times I just wanted to shake Jensen but I understood what she was going through. New author for me and I will definitely be checking out more of her books.
