A special edition of the first three classic mysteries featuring British aristocrat and sleuth Lord Peter Wimsey. A gentleman needs hobbies. For Lord Peter Wimsey—a Great War veteran with a touch of shell shock—collecting rare books, sampling fine wines, and catching criminals help pass the time. In Whose Body?, a dead man wearing nothing but a pince-nez is found in the bathtub of an architect’s … in the bathtub of an architect’s London flat—and Wimsey encounters a bizarre puzzle.
Clouds of Witness brings Lord Wimsey to the family’s shooting lodge in Yorkshire. Humans are not meant to be targets, but Wimsey’s sister’s fiancé has been felled by a bullet—and his brother accused of the crime. The investigation will bring him into contact with a socialist agitator, a hot-tempered farmer, and a host of unseemly secrets.
In Unnatural Death, everyone expected the ailing and elderly Miss Agatha Dawson to die—just not quite so soon. When the doctor who treated her shares his suspicions with Wimsey, he sets out to discover who rushed the patient to her demise.

The first three Lord Peter Wimsey books–plus a few short stories (as a preview of “Lord Peter Views the Body”)–at a significant discount. Lovely!
Lord Peter Wimsey is one of my favorite detectives. These stories have real mystery with a touch of humor. And Sayers’ world building can’t be beat. Give these a try, but set aside time to read. You won’t want to put this book down.
Years ago I read all the Wimsey stories. Dorothy Sayers caught the tension of life for upperclass Englishmen between the Wars in the subtle ways old lifestyles and assumptions were changing, even as Second Son Lord Peter Wimsey used his playboy goofiness to outwit cunning criminals. I’m glad to see this new release of worthwhile classic detective …
The Lord Peter Wimsey series is one of my favorite mysteries and his character is one of my favorites in all of literature.
A collection of some of the best mysteries of the 20th Century. Lord Peter Wimsey uses his sharp wits, Oxford education, and vast network of acquaintances to solve mysteries while coming to terms with his wartime past.
These are fun easy little English mysteries.
I love all of Dorothy Sayers books,
Dorothy L. Sayers has become one of my favorite mystery writers. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
Love this series, wish there were more! Highly entertaing. Lovers of English period mystery will really get into these. The characters are so real you want to know them personally. One of the great writers of her time!
If you like PBS shows like “Downton Abbey”, you’ll love Lord Peter Wimsey. He and his man, Bunter, solve mysteries for the sheer fun of it.
A terrific series of books by one of the great masters of the mystery genre. Each of Sayers’ books is a gem! She well deserved the honor bestowed on her of the presidency of London’s Detective Club. Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.
Three books by the queen of mystery from the Golden Age of British Cosy Mystery. Her Lord Peter Whimsey is pure delight, as are the 1920’s.
What a treat to re-read some early Wimseys. These three books are full of charm and fun as well as being excellent mysteries. “Whose Body” introduces Lord Peter and his wondrous valet Bunter. The mystery is interesting, even for those of us who read it before and know the “answer”. In “Clouds of Witness” we see Peter as part of his family, …
Too dated, especially w/racism of first mystery included. Doesn’t stand the test of time.
Dorothy Sayers is the Best! Much more fun than Agatha Christie, with the same excellent ambiance of the era and with very endearing characters.
This trilogy includes the first three books written about Lord Peter Wimsey, younger brother of the Duke of Denver. We are given interesting bits of information about his life as we read these early books, rather than going through it sequentially, so we know he was a major in WWI and suffered “shell shock” from his service, and his fiancée …
These books started me reading any British mystery I can find. They are the best!
Love Dorothy Sayers & this trio is a TREAT!
Dorothy Sayers is *amazing!*. All the clever inventiveness of an Agatha Christie plot, sprinkled with charm, wit, & a classic education of the last century!! There isn’t an author today who can hold a candle to Lord Peter!!
Great characters and wonderful mysteries!!
